Your reactions are just perfect! 🤩 Sometimes I watch this and just go "damn. I didn't plan this but he's actually right" 🤣 Thank you so much for doing this, it means a lot 🤗
Can't wait for some Bass Gang reactions in couple of months 😝
3 mins ago, nice
No, no no. You're supposed to say, "Yes, that is PRECISELY what I PLANNED." :)
😍
Catchphrase for me as a freestyle/improv dancer: "I meant that!"
Bass gang reactions in a couple months? Some new stuff coming?
Avi saw it and complimented them both right away when it came out. Tomi responded to a question after the premiere and said he had contacted Tim Foust to do the comment.
Great reaction Peter. Thanks so much.
Another EXCELLENT acapella track from Tomi P, and wonderful to hear Efe getting in on the action. Beautiful voices, stunning arrangement, and plenty of bass -- what else could you want? Hope you enjoy :D
Hellfire is tomi p's most impressive performance and also has his lowest note in it and shows his range really well.

Thank you so much for the reaction Peter! I really love your analysis and appreciate your kind words! You've got so much knowledge and everytime I watch your videos I learn more about music. Yes, for the last note (C#1) I used subharmonics and Tomi used inhale I think. I also sang the subharmonic notes in Otherside. And yes, Tomi is much taller than me, I'm 1.85m and he had to spread his legs so that he could be seen on camera 😂
So more of a Height Past (x) filter than bass boost.
(with a sense of humour like this it's amazing people put up with me)
Love your thick bass sound!
This was so sick. Well done tomi for this one what a great homage to avi!
The "Lean on Me" portion almost had me in tears. So beautiful. I love the entire medley. I wish I could do half of what they (and y'all) can do.
I'm just relieved Avi saw it... man, that's gotta be exciting!
Just because Efe's height kept changing slightly in relation to Tomi I think he's standing on a box or something.
.... so that'd be bass boost? ;)
I'll show myself out LOL
Ha! Well played 😂 (and I think you're right)
My increased awareness in listening to acapella music is broadening so much from your analyses and it is changing my approach, understanding and appreciation as a listener. Please keep it up! Thank you, thank you, thank you.
So glad you are getting enjoyment out of these videos, and learning from them as well -- that's the goal! :]
Love, love, love, love this one from Tomi and Efe. Even though I know what Tomi is capable of he still never ceases to surprise me with each release. His arrangements, vocals (lows and highs) and mixing skills are unbelievable. You’re always taken on an amazing journey when listening to his pieces. Always looking forward to the next one from Tomi.
I like the 30 min time. Some others fill in time with more reaction than analysis. You actually keep music illiterate people like me engaged the whole time! Thanks Peter, I really enjoy your very deep knowledge and love of this stuff.
This is such an amazing rendition. Smooth and savory. Just awesome. I am so happy I came across Tomi P with one of my rabbit hole dives from Voice Play. I love not only Tomi's singing cuz let's face it, the man can hit the depths of hell with that voice but I also love his work with writing pieces. Just amazing.
I believe this is one of my first songs I've heard with Efi but he has an amazing voice and this goes very well together, will have to go listen to more from him.
Man this is such an awesome compilation, so many small moving pieces, I had to listen to this one a few times to hear all the stuff going on. Amazing, just amazing
This is proof that you can make an entire production around impressive bass without making it too over-the-top or excessive. Unbelievably well-produced and something that I would listen to 100s of times through.
You do a great job with making music terminology palatable to those of us that aren't well versed in the lingo/aren't exactly musically inclined. 30 minutes is a good amount of time for most videos, but I could listen to you analyze songs for hours. Tomi and Efe excelled in every way.
This medley was so cool 🤯 So much ear candy the whole time. A great tribute to one of our favorite basses! Loved hearing your take on it too as always, especially getting to learn what exactly those crazy low notes really are! 😅😎
I love how into the music and vocals you get. All your facial expressions are great!
Did you notice in that final series of shots the height difference between them changes? I love this. Their voices really complement each other. As always, Tomi’s harmonies are dense and complex, but somehow they don’t trash my brain this time-I usually have to sit with his music a bit to get my head around it. I hope the two of them do a LOT more.
Great analysis as always, and I can’t wait for your next video!
I saw Avi's comment. Well done. Looking forward to the sequel . I think the clip of Tim is from one of Layne Stein's Pattycake Productions videos. Tim did a cameo on a TikTok inspired medley.
Wow, lovely analysis!
Revisiting this reaction in 2023 - just thought I'd mention something I just realised and that you got but may not have joined the dots on. When Tomi and Efe get to the chorus of 'Get Down', the backing vocals are actually those of 'Change on the Rise' Cool eh?
Peter!! You have a stank face throughout this video!? Beautiful review!! You radiate such joy!
“Lean on Me” it’s the best one, it brings out emotions and so beautiful!
Just went to my very first Opera ("Pagliacci") starring Michael Spyres. UNBELIEVABLE! I might be hooked.
Hitting some heartstrings
Thanks for the vid Peter I have sung all my life but your reactions has helped me so much thanks for what u do and congrats on and official music video
I really enjoy the analysis and how you explain the specific techniques in a way that “lay people” can understand. I would like to ask if you could describe the difference between fry, growl and subs? Thirty minutes is perfect.
I don't think anyone else mentioned this, but TomiP was able to make it to Avi's Prague concert and did a Vlog about it, including a bit of concert footage. What I enjoyed was Tomi mentioning that, because of his height, Avi saw him almost right away in the audience. For those who haven't sen it, here's the link: ruclips.net/video/3GVkjkpqZ1U/видео.html
How tall is tomi?
@@Tharealmiddleg 6'6
WHAT Tomi is 6" 6', I didn't see that coming.
This was my reaction as well
Efe is 1.85 meters which equals 6’+ .86”
Great stuff..
Ooh, another Jesus hippie with bass! I count 3 Jesus hippies now: I've got Avi, Austin Brown and now Efe! Its just their 'look' coupled with divine voices... Austin floats up high (he's a high strong tenor) but can do lower, and has a sweet innocent choir boy look. Its like an Angel singing when he sings. Avi, has deep warm basso profundo with range, and such an achingly beautiful voice that makes you feel his emotions, plus he looks a little Jesus like you know? Then we have Efe Sayin.. and there it is again! Its the Jesus hippie look and voice.. deep deep textured with vibrato...
I missed the last part. That was sweet
Thirty minutes is great!
look at devin townsend - kingdom at emg tv live :D you'll be amazed. please!
Check out Tim Foust from Home Free ( Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow / Stay off of his dewoop album
I know you did this 5mo ago ....I know ....but I just found it....I ....I am ....gibberish, that's all I got....Avi my therapy singer ....Tomi P shakes my bones, melts my eyes, and now Effe Sayin....Where .....where did you all come from? Does anyone know you are here, infecting the atmosphere with these incredible sounds? Please let them stay away. You're ours now! And Avi....you all mystify me into gibberish....just....sigh. more. Please.
Didn't realize I wasn't subscribed o-o
E1 in chest?! holy hell.
I did not know Tommy is 6’6?! How tall are Bobby and Marwan?
Bobby and Marwan are 6’, Casper is 6’3, and Peter is 5’9. :]
Marwan is so skinny too lol. He and Bobby are the same height which is very cool
At 16:39...
Efe: minecraft zombie mode activated
30 minutes for sure works out nicely
Peter, what is your lowest chest fry, and lowest chest?
Tough to say lowest chest-fry because it's easy to take it down beyond where there's any value or quality to the note, but I've recorded a bunch of solid C1s and can do that reliably for projects. For chest my lowest ever is a G#1, and normally I have a Bb1 in the morning and a C2 the rest of the day (and generally I can get down to B1 with a proper warm-up)
@@PeterBarber My lowest chest would probably be Bb2 on average but I have done a C2 chest. My lowest chest fry would be like a G1. I can sometimes vocal fry an A0, but I have vocal fried an A-1 at like 4:00 in the morning. I am a tenor.
peter why dont u sing wth tomi...he needs more sunlight energy nourishmnt
Imma flex, I'm taller than both of them. I wish i had there voice
not an e1 in chest lol
For real though -- I've heard clips of him get down around there. I've known him for about 2 years through the BSN discord server and his chest can get absurdly low
th singers shd make SOME eyecontact wth their audience...efe looks tired +lifeless... tho their voices r lovely, theyre not connected to each othr
I think in 22:00 the f#1 is in chest fry not subs
Definitely subs
i wish they WOULD showoff smthing...
No doubt they have a good voice by themselves but they don't blend well or harmonize well. They took Avi's song & butchered it.
daaaamn
Considering Avi commented that he loved it and thought the arrangement was beautiful it can’t have been that bad. Regardless I loved it but everyone is entitled to their opinion.
@@TomiPVideos HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
@@TomiPVideos Love you guys and technically as always perfect, but indeed I too love Avi´s originals better (a lot more pure emotion, and .. less is sometimes more....) + lean on me is not Avi´s song, that´s a pity; because not ´really´ an ´Avi Kaplan medley´...
@@leeuwerikje while true that Lean on Me isn’t Avi’s it is like one of the only covers he has officially released as a solo artist (single and EP). It is beautiful. And thus I would argue does belong in an Avi Kaplan medley that was created more than year ago before some of his more recent additions.
Edit: yes video of medley is recent but medley itself was written much earlier if I recall correctly.
