It's a most awesome surprise! I'm so glad he likes Colorado enough to write a song. I bet he could find a lovely cabin right here in the Rockies if he ever gets tired of TN.
This was so beautiful, Bine B. Thank you for shearing. Århus, was not so bad, either. But we did not get to hear this song, then. I am a bit late for responding to this, but I have not heard the song Colorado, before today. ❤️ from Tone in Norway. Ps. Avi signed my white jacket, that I wore at the consert. We werent many at the VIP, but it was so good. Hearing that low voice, live.😉
Just gorgeous. If he ever records this as a proper release, I'd love to hear cello (maybe KO?) in the backing, especially the chorus 'home'. But amazing :) my favourite of his songs in a long while.
Wow, das ist ein Geschenk vom Allerfeinsten, liebe Bine, ich danke Dir von ganzem Herzen, dass Du das hier geteilt hast. Ich muss es weiterteilen, kann nicht anders. 😄😄❣❣🥰🥰🤗🤗
Oh how I also felt like Colorado was home to me. I would leave Alabama and head to the mountains to ski, head to Rocky Mountain State Park,, Stay in Aspen or Estes Park or Winter Park. I would trek through a few feet of snow but could not get far, and I reveled as I wondered small portions of The Maroon Bells...I looked for property there for years, but alas, my roots of my ancestors who uprooted from Tennessee and headed to Mississippi and Alabama took strong roots for me. I will forever miss Colorado and her grandeur, but Alabama has a strong hold on me and her soil has offered great nourishment for my roots. Great job on the writing of this, Avi and Kaleb. Noah, as always, you add great harmony and Rythm to this group and you are greatly appreciated as well. Brought a tear to my eye as I still have a longing for Colorado. Some day...
Colorado Cheyenne mountain, Lay your shadow on me Wrap me tightly, Pull me into your leaves. Yeah the aspen will wave, And the river will sing As the clouds open up, On the valley beneath. Oh, Colorado Open your loving arms to me. Won't you take in this stranger? Oh Colorado, can't you see? You feel like home You feel like home You feel like home. Yeah that mountain high, Makes me never want to leave (But) by tomorrow, I'll come down to Tennessee I've planted my roots, But my heart wants to roam I'm torn between places My heart (Your heights) and my home. Oh, Colorado Open your loving arms to me. Won't you take in this stranger? Oh Colorado, can't you see? You feel like home You feel like home You feel like home. (Vocal harmony alone) Oh, Colorado Open your loving arms to me. Won't you take in this stranger? Oh Colorado, can't you see? You feel like home You feel like home You feel like home. For playing the chords, I believe he has tuned his entire guitar three steps down to C#, so starting with the chord shape of Em (which translates to C#m with the tuning). Thence Avi plays (Verse) Em, C alternating followed by D, G, C twice then (Chorus) Am, G, D until verse again. Also I don't believe he uses his little finger at any point, so factor that into the G chord. For those on piano, simply it goes (I think) (Verse) C#m, A, (twice) then B, E, A (twice) leading to (Chorus) F#m, E, B. You can of course use the guitar chords above as an alternative on piano too, for a bit lower on the vocals. With piano you can play with inversions, for F#m7 it's basically an A chord in the right hand with a F# in the left bass, C#m7 same but E chord in right, C# in left bass. Minor 7 chords (a dominant 7th chord with a flattened third) will make it sound smoother or jazzier, whilst straight minor chords can sound purer for the folk feel.

Can anybody post lyrics? I also love Colorado and everytime I go to RMNP, it feels like coming home❤
