Don’t Pass High Percentage Casts: Lake Borgne Bass

  • Depending on water levels and other conditions, certain features of marsh bayous can be high percentage targets for Bass, Redfish, and Speckled Trout. We cover a couple of those in this video. The bass bite has been on fire lately in the Lake Borgne and Lake Pontchartrain Basin and Rigolets area. However, I did have to work for it on this trip and made several moves only picking up one here and there before finally going back to where I caught a pile of Bass in the previous video, only to find they were still there and I could have saved myself a lot of time by just going straight there. Just like on the last video, the soft plastics Texas rigged was the winning lure for me.
Here is the link to the Jon Miller video I mentioned at the end about the "Release Over 20" program that is coming to Louisiana. Go check that out to find out more about what we can do to help our Speckled Trout populations in Louisiana.

Awesome fishing! I have a couple spots out that way Im hoping to get back out to and mess around with some green trout. Also been releasing them big girls this year, so far 6 20" and will keep doing so from now on

Very nice! The 20” weren’t as common this year as they have been in the past (for me anyway).

Jar, do you saltwater jerk baits or do you use freshwater jerk baits, or both? Great job teaching and sharing your techniques, thanks!
