4:53 I was born in Covington and moved to Texas when I was 10, but spent my summers down there, hanging out with family and fishing those same Waters. A few years back I was on the first date with a gal and she asked “ if there was one place in this world, that you could move and live where would it be? Money is no option” Without hesitation I said “southeast Louisiana!” That was our first and last date 😂
@@Jar_Fishing haha I know that’s right brother. My wife and I went on our honey moon for 4 days in hopedale, I believe I ended up With a better one for sure haha
Solid trout! We are currently living in Texas (planning a move to Pass Christian, MS) and fish out of Galveston Bay. I've been guiding here since 95' and I feel our trout population is down 95% of what it use to be. The trout bite has been good, but really have to work at finding them and they are in small pockets. Not wide spread like they use to be. Good to see you releasing the bigger ones.
Dang! I knew about the freeze, but I didn't realize things had gotten like that...hope they bounce back. I like to watch Tommy Vidrine and I think he fishes that area of MS y'all are moving to.
I also fish that area around this time of year but haven't been in a while....I usually launch off Paris road and go through the locks near the wall or I go down to violet and through the locks there. Is there still a schedule for the times the locks are open and closed?
Man oh man, glass surface with monsters lurking just below. What a great way to get a workout. We all appreciate the time you take to put this action on video! Kudos Brother
Nice trip.Have a trip planned this Wed with a die-hard duck hunting buddy and a buddy from the Abita KC's!Not sure where we gonna fish, most likely Chalmette Wall.Hit ole Produce Man on the trip he and Cisco just made and it was funny seeing AJ wail away at nice fish and Cisco FINALLY got in de groove, but only at tail end of their trip!
Another awesome video Jared! Thanks for taking us along for hammer time! Great to see you putting those big baby’s back in to hopefully make more trout, great job!
Awesome video , did same thing in Hopedale last Thursday , twitch baits and top water , tagging 15 nice trout , today tagging 25 , yep hate using that net , rather flip them in boat , hope ya can get it fixed soon , the bite is on , thanks again for sharing your video
Good job Jared I didn’t know you had a tiller. I don’t know if you’re mechanical inclined but if not you get the parts I will help you fix it at my house. Better than having it sit in a shop for 4 weeks or more.
It's a center console but I had the motor cover off so I could reach my hand back there and pull the throttle cable manually. There is a little gear on the backside of the throttle control that pulls the cables and it stripped out. I dropped it off at BassPro and the dude said they could change it out pretty quick. Just glad I didn't have to get towed back to the marina. People would have said "there's that Jar Fishing idiot getting towed" 😂
@@Jar_Fishing😂 that’s good most places around here are 3-4 weeks out before they will look at your boat. It’s a pretty common problem but usually the cables are getting stuck and breaks the plastic parts inside the throttle. I just changed mine and the cables all together
Hope that dude wasn't bull crapping me and end up taking 3 weeks lol. I'll have to go steal my buddy KB's boat. He doesn't use it anyway.@@Laproduceman
@@Jar_Fishingsorry I just seen your reply. Dennis’s boat sat for 4 weeks and the shop didn’t touch it. It still under warranty. He brought it to another shop they said 2 weeks 4 weeks later he just got it back. They will lie!!
It wasn’t the actual cable. It was the little gear on the opposite side of the main nut that holds the throttle control in place. That moves the two leavers that pull the cables. The guy at basspro said the gear looked like it stripped out. Last thing I expected to happen
I came across of your channel Great content great video love it!! NEW FRIEND 👍😉🎣
Much appreciated!
What a morning! Those were some awesome trout. Nice improvisation on gear shifter.
The mosquitoes had me motivated to figure something out as quick as possible lol. They were pretty thick.
I appreciate you letting those 20’s free my hats off to you !
I don't think I can ever let those huge trouts go cause I hardly ever catch any....lol. Jar you make me jealous in a good way!
If I didn’t get to fish as much, I probably wouldn’t let very many go either. Glad the videos get you fired up…just means you love the sport.

You're prob better off without her. Anybody that doesn't love Southeast Louisiana is suspect in my book anyway lol

Thanks James!
Great video as usual, Thanks for the tips on retrieving the hard baits, and info on selected rods
Great vid, Are you at the long rocks?
Great video. Appreciate the tips on fishing jerk baits.
Was this north or south side of the rock dam?
Great video. Thanks for the fishing tips. what type of boots are you wearing? I want to get a comfortable pair of waterproof shoes. Thanks.
Thanks! HUK makes those boots. Very comfortable. Helps to have waterproof when your launching the boat solo.

It's my experience the big ones stick together. Nothing better than catching yellowmouths on hard baits.
No doubt
what kind of boat ya got
Grizzly Tracker 18ft. Been a good boat for me for the most part. Only had a few issues and most were self inflicted problems lol.
Nice mule trout man! Sucks about the throttle.Cable broke? I have same boat..

whats the length of jerk bait you are throwing
@@WalterDeer mostly the smaller version that’s about 3.5
