You don’t need it. Use the remote code or the fire tv app.
I think I'm going to have to reset mine because it will take 2.15 GB of memory and then show critical low storage in 10 minutes. I have everyone stumped nobody can figure it out, maybe you've heard of this?

Just one question how can you select OK once you get to the factory reset screen, My stick is frozen on the Profile screen and won't select everything. Firetv app won't connect John in UK
If you did the factory reset, it will sync your remote before anything else. If it's frozen, then unplug it and plug it back in (power outlet). You shouldn't have a frozen stick.
tried to add memory and direct internet to my max. neither would take. It would attach to direct wire for about 30 seconds ans switch to wireless. Any Ideas. Have done all the stuff in your older videos, No luck. I think they have changed the software?

I haven’t used my firestick in a while and now when I plug it in it’s just stuck on the logo with the three loading dots going round and round. Any idea how I can fix this please? I tried resetting with the remote but it doesn’t do anything.
Almost sounds like you are out of date on your updates. These devices can't be more than 3 updates behind. You only real option is to do the factory reset with the remote. You might want to check the remote batteries. Once replaced, during reboot, hold down the remote keys as shown in this video. Most mistakes are they don't hold long enough. Factory reset will fix this.
I will try this... so frustrated with a music notification that keeps coming into my notifications that disrupts/stalls what I am watching. I have tried everything to make it stop. Perhaps a bug? I have all notifications turned off. Is anyone else experiencing this. It just started within the last few weeks.

@@CuriosityCafe I had my phone app connected to the device before I lost the remote and then I started having connectivity issues and the Google suggestions said to factory reset the device and now I’m soft locked
Yeah, not recommended without a remote for sure. Can you borrow one? Then sync it, set it up, then give it back? Cause this will be an issue for you.
Another option would be what we shared in our last video and just trade it in for a new one that has a remote

Why are you using an OTG adapter and SD card? Unplug all that and just use the firestick. See if it works fine. If it does, then we can look at expanding properly

And I have unplugged them and tried firestick on its own several times ,,I have unplugged for 24 hrs aswell ,,, i also don't have a light on the remote so not sure if that's the problem that's its disconnected somehow
Well the error you have on your tv is not a good one. How old is that firestick? I would upgrade to the 4k max and DON'T DO THAT SD CARD thing again. Could seriously damage your stick. Just get an external hard drive like we show on our videos.
I'm curious what Amazon said when you contacted them? The 4k Max is fairly new. I'm sure they can help you with this situation.
It was working n it stopped, nothing comes on other than a screen that say unplug n plug back if not contact support. N still nothing

You can still reset with the remote code
I do the factory reset then I get a blue strip telling me wait a few mins & it will restart but doesn't. I unplug, plug back in, still doesn't take me to where yo got, also doesn't improve Firestick. Help!
How old is your stick? That doesn't seem right

I just had another look, switched the TV on, the FireTV home screen is there, all the apps are there even though I asked for a factory reset, then after a few moments I got a message saying my remote couldn't be detected, then it shut down to a blank but faintly glowing screen. No buttons on remote work. The batteries are new.
Maybe time for an upgrade? The are $30 for the newest one right now.

Not sure what you mean. It has nothing to do with a usb
@@CuriosityCafe when I do a factory reset, does it wipe out apps on my external drive (or access to them), I’m using a USB
It only affects the firestick. But if you are worried, just unplug it while doing the reset. You will lose all settings though, so you will have to resync the drive
why does the fire tv app buffer
The app controls your tv, I think you might be using the wrong one

Recently did this because firetvstick totally ruined my sick. Did a complete restart but still not 100%. I use film+ and beetv. Her version are corrupt. So had to emprovise. Any advice would be welcome.
