Mr. Baru did something which I wish more people associated with public offices should do. Write about events that transpire (something our politicians not do, leaving some). Obviously subjectivity will come into such narrations. He wrote what he felt and knew with some amount of certainty to be true. His integrity need not be questioned. With this being said, obviously he could have exerted his moral right as the author of the book, for the mutilation done to his book.

Well balanced answers given by Mr. Baru. The best part is he openly agreed that it is his views when he is in PMO and he can take responsibility for his book and not the film. I have not read the book yet, but yes it is in my interest now. Hell yes, that every bureaucrat should also paint there point of views so that people in public would be able to know the culture and drama behind the scenes of there work environment.

kudos to Dr Baru for his clarity of thought on both the book and the film. NAC was a joke that kept interfering with the PM. Incidentally do not miscommunicate that RTI was a Congress creation . Please refer to the UN deliberations of that period. Ghulam Nabi Azad took the credit for MDG that was the product of UN deliberations then and India being a signatory had to implement.. The RTI issue was similar to the above. Of course Rahul Gandhi Kept parroting the government line at that time that they created RTI. Pure BS! Incidentally I feel sorry that a erudite PM of Man Mohan singh's caliber had to go through the ignominy of pandering to the loot brigade that surrounded him.

Watched movie "The Accidental Prime Minister". I would like to say, this is one of the fantastic movie I have ever seen. Enjoyed a lot.
There are very few movies which you expect not to end. This movie is one of them. After 2 hours watching this movie I was so disappointed that why this ended. Classic acting of "Akshaye khanna" and "Anupam Kher".
Some people say it is propaganda movie of BJP. I have different point of view on this - Even if it is propaganda film of BJP, it is based on book written by Media Advisor(Mr Sanjay Baru) of EX- PM Dr Manmohan Singh ji. This book was never criticised by Manmohan Singh ji, however official statement of PMO was given against this book. But I think PMO and PM are different identity.
After watching this film you will get to know some insight of PMO working style.
Impact of this film on me is that I watched this film last night but hangover of this film still present. Whole night I was watching "Akshaye khanna" and "Anupam kher" in my dreams.
You will get to know both bright side and dark side of our EX- PM, Dr Manmohan Singh ji.
Disclaimer: I think those who like politics should watch this movie.

I have been wanting to see the film for a long time...finally it happened today. The way it is projected in media interviews that Singh was a puppet in the hands of the Family seems an inclined vested view. I have found that Singh never took the under estimation of his position, by the UPA, lying low. He has attempted resignation which was not accepted by Sonia for the preservation of Family's /Rahul's good image. Towards the end as well, Singh stepped down because he felt that his position as PM was being compromised and misused by the Family. So the film only reflects the strong character of Singh and the dirty functioning of UPA, whose foremost interest was Power concentration and not the country

Well, its not just high qualification that is needed for being a leader. If you are saying he was not a good orator.... Dude a leader's first qualification is to be that.
Second qualification I think is how you can control the ministry and mass....
He was controlled by party members and its not hidden. Any kid growing in that era can verify that. You know that... So, yeah... If someone at the position of PM couldn't be worth being a PM, he should resign or more so shouldn't take up in the first place. One must hold the position he can justify.

In 2004, Congress didn't win the election hands down, even though the BJP fared badly. It's a margin of seven MPs. I don't think that the Congress, despite being the single largest party in LS then, had got the legitimacy from the voters to run the govt even though it eventually formed the govt with the support of a number of parties. Having said this, the 2009 verdict was clearly in favour of the Congress-led formation.

You nailed it Dr. Baru, every question was answered smartly though in every single question Mr. Vardarajan was trying to put words in your mouth. I totally disagree with Vardarajan where he says that the movie represents Dr. Singh as a puppet in fact I started respecting Dr. Singh after watching the movie. I think he was chosen to use as a puppet by Sonia Gandhi but Mr. Singh showed courage and fought for the county's welfare, he was a patriot, I am going to read the book soon and hope would find many other great things about Mr. Singh. Here Mr. Varadarajan talks about propoganda like he is not trying a propganda to take Mr. Baru down by this interview and to criticize BJP and by doing so he actually is insulting Mr. Singh's intent and intel. Mr. Vardarajan, if not on your thinking at least work on your body language, anyone can see your anxiety and excitement to prove Mr. Baru wrong. Now this is what happens with oversmart people like you, I am going to read the book because you are trying to demean Mr. Baru, the same thing happened when congress tried to tell people that the book is full of lies. Finally what can be expected from Wire, there was a time when a woman with codenamed Vano controlled media by money and now this is happening in this era again.

The journalist is trying his best to steer the interviewee towards his views that this film is bad and a propaganda, but Mr. Baru is smart, he is not budging a bit. He is very neutral and has his thoughts on the issue very clear; which is not sitting well with the journalist.

Peter Mundackal: While Sanjay Baru may have been true to his experiences, he had a moral obligation to point out the deviations made and liberties taken by the film makers, in painting an uncomplimentary picture on Dr Manmohan Singh.

You must take a stand that is either white or black and not grey, which you are trying to do now. It is understood that when I have a child who on growing up turns rogue I cannot entirely wash my hands off. To select a title that you did is in itself derogatory and an invite to inimical entities. Our prime minister Manmohan Singh is a revelation and should be a role model for our youth. Today he is aged and infirm but only after he left his footsteps on the sands of time. You have done a great disservice to the nation.

I am a Modi supporter. I must say that even though the act by Anupam Kher as Dr Singh was decent and maybe even good, the overall movie was a disappointment.
Somehow the movie does not seem to be getting its holistic view right. It places 2 much emphasis on Constant tussle between NAC and govt.
All said and done, it cannot be denied that there is truth to people saying that Dr Singh was spineless as he was 2 soft on politically hot potato issues. As a PM, his stamp should have been final on all policies. Unfortunately, his soft spoken nature exacerbated his downfall.
2 more points are that it cannot be denied that the so called mother son duo consider Congress party and India as their personal fiefdom. Congress party is simply not realising the way it is failing not just itself but the country at large by still hanging on to the Gandhi clan! Somehow people seem to be euphoric about the entry of Mrs Vadra now! If anything, it’s a sad day for Congress at large!
Even if u ask a non bjp, non Modi supporter, the country by and large thinks that the Gandhi clan is synonymous with corruption and mal governance! Simply attacking Modi and not portraying your vision for country wont really help Congress!
When Rahul could have given an opportunity to the next generation of congress leadership after winning the historic elections in Hindi heartland he chose to make 70+ year olds as CM’s. sending a flippant twitter msg at 8am in the morning not really help congress. When important decisions are supposed to be made, this is where Rahuls immaturity comes to the fore.
The last point being that journalists like Siddharth of the Wire very proudly display at the end of the programme to support “independent journalism”, but if u look at the interview, it has become abundantly clear hearing the questions where the so called “independent journalists” allegiances lie! Everything is a critique.!
There’s no objectivity left in journalism. Swarajya supports BJP and “independent journalists” like Wire support Congress. What irritates me is that hypocrites like this above journalist think of us Indians as idiots and who do not know what’s going on.

    • @deepak7tak
      @deepak7tak 4 года назад

When you Wire supports Congress I also see it supports a family and when Swaraj supports BJP it supports country. It's my personal view but yes I believe that journalism must be unbiased to all parties.

We as an indian tends to see people in the past in a sympathy, congress has done nothing to strengthen institutions they are blaming bjp is weakening.
Congress should be asked if they again come to power they will not insult institution , situation like rbi will not happen.

It's painful to watch the movie not because it's propaganda but how badly a prime minister of India was treated by the ruling family and how can a man take up so much abuse, holding the highest office in the country.
I think Manmohan Singh did not like confrontation and the family very well knew this and used it to their advantage.
