It's come to my attention that Malaysians aren't really understanding the video and taking offense to it,
so to be clear - I'm not saying Malaysia doesn't have good features, or that Kuala Lumpur doesn't even, just that Kuala Lumpur has some downsides that people should be aware of before moving to the city.
There are some good things about KL too, which I'll talk about in another video later, and plenty of places in Malaysia that I find quite good (Kota Kinabalu, Kota Bharu, Taiping, and some of the highlands), however KL to me is a city without much culture and far too many problems.
I didn't even mention all the problems I encountered, which included oodles of more minor things, such as trying to top up a sim number at the telecom's shop and them refusing to do it and telling me to do it online, or eventually to use the machine to top up and buy a new package, confirming with them how to do it, only to do it to the correct number and receive no top-up (received receipt). Later they claimed it can take up to a week or two for the package to be added to the device, and that I should have done it online - which wouldn't accept payment.
The indifference and incompetence is shocking, never have I encountered such problems traveling and living abroad for over 5 years, in dozens of countries.
But those are issues I had in KL, the rest of the country is far better.

As a Malaysian, I appreciate how objective you are here. I agree on the public transport issue. I've been to Singapore and Hong Kong, I wish our public transport was on that level of convenience.
With regards to social energy, people in KL are just less chill compared to the rest of Malaysia. But it also depends on which part of KL. Masjid Jamek feels more chill compared to Bukit Tinggi.
I also agree with the poor attitude in KLIA. Its fine to be strict and have lengthy procedures, but the attitude of our immigration officers are..... not welcoming.
We're still working on our unity. I guess that is just part and parcel of a heterogeneous society.
I'd recommend getting out of KL. Ask any Malaysian on where to travel, no one would think of KL. There's much more to see in Penang Island (beware of traffic tho), Melaka, East Malaysia etc.

I did end up walking along a highway like road which was unpleasant. The heat and humidity really got to me. I ended up hiding in the mall. I found the people to be nice, the food great, and didn't get scammed. I also went to Penang which was kinda dumpy imo. Langkawi was beautiful. Now when I go back, if I have to, and when I was there last I just stayed at the InterContinental near the twin towers. Good IHG quality hotel, good pool and gym.
Definitely I threw transport under the bus a bit, it was bad every time I tried it so I didn't give it more chances. A few times trying buses, a few with the metro, and every one atrocious and I give up. Not worth the hassle to keep trying.

Many great things have come out of Malaysia, such as AirAsia, founded by Malaysian Tony Fernandes, and Grab, co-founded by Malaysian Anthony Tan. There has been significant investment in Malaysia from companies like Google, Oracle, Microsoft, Nvidia, and others in areas like AI, semiconductors, and data centers. Malaysia is also working on new economic zones, with one in the southern region near Singapore and another in the north near Thailand. Public transport has improved significantly and is becoming more affordable. Additionally, Malaysia has some of the cheapest petrol in Southeast Asia. The country is multicultural, rich in languages, and many Malaysians speak English fluently and often better than in other regions. I'm sorry if you’ve had only negative experiences and may have overlooked some of the positive aspects.

@@keangwooichoo6138 Bro, since you've watched many RUclips videos on KL and Malaysia you would have seen most RUclipsrs praising and being surprised at the population's English ability, the friendliness, the scenery, the beaches, the wildlife, the skyscrapers, the low cost world class Healthcare, unworldly low cost Ehailing, relatively cheap high class hotels etc

It's obvious that Malaysia was not meant to be the location for you to visit, and I think it would be best if we lost 100 visitors who shared your viewpoint. Instead, we ought to be appreciative of those who do even if it's only one person. I reiterate that Malaysia was not the right place for you, just stay away from us.

try not to travel without a good local guide.
-metro is fine really, except for rush hour.
-fruits is good if you dont purposedly try to scam yourself really.
-busess, i have no idea, been several year since i used one.
-for your place of stay, RM300 for 1 month of deposit in kl literally scream scam, outside of kl you can get a whole landed house with RM600. also tell why the gym was in a mess, with that price it shouldnt even have gym...
-unity in malaysia is not the same like in the us, every race have culture and heritage they want to preserve but we already over that decade ago. if you been here youll know but honestly at this point your takes on this are heavily skewed on whatever youre on.
-yess long distant walkability is a joke. yess my fellow malaysian i said it, its true. i expect my forest to be 2km from my luxury hotel. outrages! (joke aside city here were not built to walk, for the past decade urban planning focuses on green sustanibilty, walkability is a pretty new topic and will take atleast several year to fully manifest).
-airline staff are all like that if youre being a nuisance.|
-KL air quality is bad, sorry its not like Brisbane. i myself dont want to stay in the city.
and for malaysian viewer, try to watch untill the end (i did).
if anything we should take point on which we should improve and what problem require attention.
-public buses need to be more accessible for foreigner who try to get around for vacation, not for works like the local do.
-legal action need to be taken on group that actively trying to take advantage on foreigner.
-airline customer service need to be inspected from time to time.

First, where are you from? Your accent is jarring and quite incoherent.
Second, Malaysia is basically pushing for a cashless system and I had experienced a few times during my stay in KL that some of the shops did not take cash. So I had to get a payment system called Touch & Go.

Actually, I'm grateful that you addresses the downsides of Kuala Lumpur and Malaysia in general because you just hv done us a favor that is to keep foreigners away from Malaysia. Of late, there just seems to be so many foreigners flocking to Malaysia and its getting crowded and suffocating with ya'll coming over. KL in particular feels alien to fellow locals because there are just so many outsiders overwhelming the city that KL becomes barely recognizable. Thay's why many locals move out of KL and settled on the outskirts bc it's just not fun anymore living in KL with you guys invading our capital city! Domo arigatou!🙇‍♀

For those who has his/her plans coming to Malaysia soon, come with an open mind. Judge it yourself and don’t listen to this blogger. Certain things he mentioned might be wrong or happened to him only. Don’t listen one side, you might have a good time in Malaysia. See with your eyes and rate Malaysia after you have been here.
