walletopia, no I’m no fan. It’s awkward to get cash in when compared to a full billfold flap. My Vincoe Swift has the same cash area and it’s a pain. Your thumb can only open one half of it, so you end up trying to slide cash in awkwardly when a normal billfold slot just opens up and you put the cash in. It’s far easier to picture this in my head than explain it here 😂😕
Walletopia, how does something like this compare to the Roik City wallet (similar design, no)? Obviously, the card slots vary slightly, but in terms of construction/finishing, do you prefer one over the other?
I think this is sinply the best design for a modern wallet.. can be done like here, like the Roik or with a metal card case instead of a card pouch like secrid does. No need to fold bills, lean and minimal.
Just received my Delphin Musquet limited edition version of this wallet. It’s fabulous. Great channel, as I wouldn’t have got my wallet without this vid.
Very tempted with this one! I have a ten year old fossil wallet that is holding up very well but as a traditional bi fold with loads of room I don't need. This wallet seems a perfect mix of up to 6 cards but still able to carry some cash receipts lottery tickets etc without the pain of folding that card holders with no cash slot have. I'm from the UK so perfect size very tempting indeed!
Thank you mister. I bought this wallet with customization after i saw your video. I am wallet addict like you :) Keep up the good work. Greeting from Greece.
The zipper on my Bellroy Card Pocket finally gave up the ghost. I had one of the early ones, when they had a water resistant zipper option. Bellroy has changed over the years, so it seemed like a good opportunity to check out some other brands, and man does this look like a nice wallet. Similar size as the Slim Sleeve, but love that open top design for versatility. Looks like my next wallet.
Hi Mark, I believe the edges are dyed and burnished, not painted. Also have you ever looked at Little King Goods wallets? I think they would be great to review.
The score you gave this beats all the Bellroy slim sleeve scores, but hearing you talk about the slim sleeves I get the sense that you prefer those. If you had to pick between any of the slim sleeves (or even Apex) vs. this Wingback Winston, which would you choose (ignoring price since IMO they're all close enough given how long I would use one of these). Thanks for the videos! You have a new subscriber.
Without pricing they're pretty equal, but I would go for the Winston. The construction and material are better in the Winston although the Bellroy Premium (which I'm assuming you're looking at ) is up there. The Apex is a nice experiment but could use a stronger closing magnet (I did a carry test on that you might be interested).
Is it better that the slim sleeve? I have the latter which I absolutely love but it starts to show its years do I'm thinking of getting a new one. I was ready to order the slim sleeve premium edition in black and then I came along with this wallet. What do you think?
I have a site called explore.walletopia.info. On it is an interactive environment to use filters to drill down on the wallets we've reviewed. Using that tool, there isn't one that hits 25. Outside of a purse, not sure we'd get that. Maybe a zipper wallet could be stuffed with that many. One of the beefier wallets is the Fort Belvedere wallet from Gentleman's Gazette. It has 12 card slots, so if you put two in each, you'd be close! www.gentlemansgazette.com/shop/mens-leather-wallet-luxury-patina-brown-blue-boxcalf-deerskin-fort-belvedere
Hi Kevin, either is an excellent wallet. Personally, I would lean more toward the Winston, but I would still be happy with the Swanfield if I had to carry it.
@@yudhistirabulldog The Swanfield is a more "refined" wallet with finish side leather on the interior as well as exterior versus the Winston with some other finishing touches, but simple elegance of the Winston also makes it attractive.
Thanks so much for your videos. Have fell in love with them! I'm in Hong Kong, was wondering if you know of a minimalist wallet like the one here but that will fit larger bills? The biggest note we have here is 165 x 82mm ='(
Hey Mark (great name btw), can you do a review of the Slimpuro ZNAP? It comes in a gorgeous vegan cork-leather variant and I would love to see what you as an expert think about it. Thanks for doing what you do!
Look like a great wallet actually. Been a while since i was impressed by a wallet. Looks high quality, but I wonder... You didn't make a stink (pun intended) about the smell and feel of the leather. What's your opinion on it?
This wallet is very similar to the wallet I have called the LongShore from Colville leather company in the UK. It fits my NZ dollars perfect but you’re right my USD doesn’t and now i know why lol
@@walletopia you’re welcome. Yeah it’s a nice wallet. Thanks for all the reviews. Whenever I hear about a wallet I always check to see if you have it on your channel.
Haha, that's my first name. My parents didn't think things through and called all their sons by their middle name...life-long pain in the butt. I stopped fighting it at about 40 years old so I go with either.
The review was helpful. But to state “I see no drawbacks” perhaps speak more directly to the price. £80. Opaque reference is paid with the 3/5 score for value but, fuck me, you don’t get much credit card/cash/loyalty storage for the money…. No!
The score reflects that it's in the price range for normal considering the quality, type of wallet, etc. But yes, it comes down to how much you carry and what meets that need. Some are fine with a very minimalist and others want more cash carry, etc. If you want to try something fun, go to our Explore site at explore.walletopia.info. Filters allow you to drill down on all kinds of wallets we've reviewed.
@@walletopia your site is fun, thanks. Last night whilst watching England lose I found a deal for a Tanner (£40 rather than, £100). Have you reviewed their wallets? I’ll give it a go although I am a carry 40 cards kind of guy I want the minimalism and hope for robust leather. I had some nasty “Stitch” wallet with rolled leather, it’s done well but it looks a little cheap.
As a lefty, I can say that our very tight-knit community is touchy about right-handed inventions. The worst I think was a type of scissors that could only be formed to the right hand. We really should be protesting this instead of some of the made-up issues we have come up with today. (read that with a grain of salt, it's not meant to be offensive)
Agreed unless they have specific currencies versions, which I do like as it's tailored for the currency you use, but when not, they limit their potential customers.
I'm sorry but if you make a wallet to put bills in the back and don't make it long enough to put US dollars in it, you just lost millions of dollars. Dumb!

You should try the Benjamin Bott “Double Wren”! Amazing craftsmanship. Exquisite detail. You won’t regret!

I ended up dropping £130 with shipping on this beauty. Really steep but I'm trust me, it's worth it.
Hi Mark, I believe the edges are dyed and burnished, not painted. Also have you ever looked at Little King Goods wallets? I think they would be great to review.

Does anyone know if it will fit Aussie notes without folding?
For “Features”, you stated three stars, but on the graphic there are only two stars. So the score would actually be 38/50 according to the graphic.
Sorry about that, it is a 3, which is reflected in the final score, the stars were off (or not aligned per se 😀)
