Oooo I’ve been waiting for this one. Absolutely love the look and the flap looks like it just perfectly holds those cards in place. I see another wallet purchase in my future
I have been using mine for 4 months and I can confirm that the front flap is actually very functional. It keeps 1) the cards in the main compartment in place and most importantly 2) keeps the cash section from flapping loosely. Contrary to my skepticism initially, I love this little flap at the front. 1. It’s unique 2. Looks cool 3. Does not get in the way since there are no buttons or tuck-Ins. The only place I can see a bit of room for improvement is the stitch uniformity. You can tell this is handmade as the stitches are not uniform. Some people like that, some like to see more precision. I don’t mind it.
Partho, Thank you so much for the great insights into your experience. What were your thoughts on the stitching of the Horween Shell Cordoven version we made for you?
I don't know if I have a nitpick, or if it's just irrelevant, or I'm just wrong: it would make more sense to me to have the "slit" as the quick-access pocket, just immediately under the flap, and the larger-capacity pocket reached by opening up the tri-fold in full. I don't off-hand see that this would be a problem for the single-piece and sewing, but I might be wrong about that. In either case, it's a tiny thing if it's a thing at all -- this wallet look really great and looks to be nicely functioning indeed.
Upon further reflection, the way it is now, the slit doesn't have to be upside down (and with perhaps more risky retention) when the wallet is fully opened. I'm still not sure if that couldn't be reoriented without any other issues being created. In any case, in use, the wallet is really great as is.
Well of you keep the wallet thin then it will work but if you fluctuate the amount of bills you get in there then that flap fill rise away from the wallet. I'd like to see some magnets on it
it makes me wonder if you can use the flap on the thin finn from lost dutchman open and use the slot its supposed to go into as a CC slot. over time the flap will form to the wallet like this one
@@justinbrewer6899 I love it. I carry 3 cards and 0-10 bills. The flap never gets in the way. I'm still breaking the habit of removing all cash and setting down the wallet when using cash. Since the side is open you can thumb cash without removing it from the wallet. The only complaint (if you can call it that) is the thickness. When I have three cards an 0 cash it's thicker then my Saddleback Slim card wallet. So I swap then out sometimes. Is there a question you had?
When you open the wallet to get cash out, what is there to stop the cards from falling out? I mean the 6 cards that Mark put in that slot - aren't they liable to fall out when you open the wallet to get cash out?
How long did it take you to receive these from Ecuador to the US I really dig this wallet and have been tempted every time I see the ad.. damn it looks great with a patina on it! and that's a great point about that flap just kind of molding or melting into the wallet
Hey man I love your videos, could you do another video on another wallet type from STR HANDMADE? I saw the video you did before with a wallet from him but could you do another one with a different wallet of his ?
@@walletopia I love them all haha but maybe the "Vertical Rift" or possibly the "Coil" (in a mix of different colours if you want for whichever one you decide on as this doesn't affect the price) Many thanks!!
This is one of my most favorite wallets. I’ve been carrying it for a few months and love it. You mentioned in the video that it is a thinner cut of leather. I’d say it is thicker than most wallets. 4 oz.?
I like the TaurusCamp too but you will have to fold your bills with that one. I deal with cash daily and it will be a hassle to take cash in and out. The lucas I think is better for daily cash movement
Worth pointing out this is not actually saddle-stitched. Its a lock-stitch made with a hooked awl (so similar to a machine stitch), more of a cobbler's technique and not a true saddle stitch.
@@arobbins8755 I would say it is a bit both weird and unusual. I am a Canadian who has been working with leather since 2012. I love it when wallet fits all currencies, might not be able to travel internationally atm.. but soon who knows. Might come in handy

Aryk! After a bit of a break-in period it stays down great! How long would you say it took for yours to break in?
is your flap stayin closed now or does it still stay up?

has the flap closed up yet

recently I got this one. initially the leather seems stiff, but its beautiful and the smell is awesome
It so nice reading people appreciating the smell of leather wallet in this channel. Its kinda not important but it is so important.
I knew this review was gonna come eventually, akd i have waited for it for sooo long. Thank you for doing it!
Lovely looking wallet - nice and simple, no fiddly bits!
Hey Mike! Ya that was the idea, when I was designing this back in the day. I wanted a wallet that doesn't have anything that it doesn't need.
The force is strong in this one
It looks practical and easy to use similar to;Open Sea Topsider,Luxe wallet,Dutchman Cash Finn👌👍

do you like color wallets or just plain ones
I will often buy brigher colored wallets like blue or orange. There's a wallet review coming up that's a vivid blue.
Can you do a comparison of this wallet vs. The cash Finn?
And can you say the Franklin is better than the Lucais?
The ratings speak for themselves, the Franklin is the highest scoring wallet he's ever reviewed. I do want to try one of these though
Hi Mark, I'm a fan of Mexico, excuse my English. If you had to buy one, which one would you choose? The Lucais or The cash finn.
Between those two, the Lucais, but the Big Finn review is coming up and that's nearly perfect :)
why is Darth Vader watching over the wallet? Oh, I get it! "Luke, I am your father!"

Yes, compared to Amazon wallets or even Bellroy it's thicker, but less than lets say Craft and Lore, I should have been more clear.
I just ordered the Honey USD wallet and I cannot wait!
How did you end up liking it? I love mine
