I mean probably not, there is a certain threshold for if a predator would want to eat you & if it wouldn’t care. pliosaurus would be in the threshold of wasting energy chewing & swallowing
@MonkeyBoy3290 4 Bruh, no, these things don't chew. If they did, they'd have human looking teeth to do that. Also, they wouldn't go outta their way to hunt you, if you were there, they'd definitely eat you if hungry.
@oil Toast humans aren't the only animal that chew their food dude. I agree this thing probably swallowed his food whole based on the kind of teeth it has but still doesn't mean it would have teeth similar to ours.
I love how they didn't even try with the name. They gave it an official scientific name, but its so terrifying of an apex preditor that they just gave it an obscure name because no other name would fit how powerful this animal was
It has an unofficial title because that was the name it was given before it could be declared a valid animal, its scientific description is now and alaskan species of pliosaurus with a different last name
it's interesting how triassic was owned by the ichyosaurs, who got replaced by plesiosaurs and pliosaurs in the jurassic, who in turn were replaced by mosasaurs by the cretaceous
I found out predator x was a nickname to the same animal we see here It was called Pliosaurus funkei also known as predator x and you can see why you can mistake it for liopleurodon
For some reason it makes a little bit of sense that they are related to turtles. They have 4 flippers similarly structured They have somewhat flat/wide bodies As well as Short tails and necks. The more you know lol
“Predator X” now has an official scientific name. Pliosaurus Funkei, I don’t know why they called it extremely vaguely “predator x” as a placeholder name for a while. Despite fossils of them being an obvious extinct marine reptile specifically Pliosaurus.
Can you make a video about the top 10 biggest marine reptiles or prehistoric marine creatures in general (including Lyviatan, Megalodon, etc..)?..i like your content and knowledge about prehistoric creatures cuz i mostly share the same opinions about them and isn't predator x aka as pliosaurus funkei?
Tbh. I know people say that "if they were still around we'd all be afraid to go into the ocean." But that's predicated on us not hunting it to near or total extinction since it would assumingly be threat.
❤❤❤❤❤ thanks for sharing infact predator X is Pliosaurus Funkei measuring over 43 feet in length the largest ones was once believe to be over 50 feet but recent studies have shown to be over 43 feet in length if it were alive today it will be hunting humpback whales in Kaikoura canyon New Zealand
Its crazy how gigantic the sea dinos were. I wonder how crowded the oceans were. I imagine it wouldnt be possible to swim away from shore as thered be so many terrifying creatures waiting for pterosaurs to get close enough to jump out and eat them. The dinosaur age was so cool, yet so terrifying.
Its definitely unique because of its size, but for me also for its name. Most of the prehistoric species are named after unique features, places they were found or by the scientist who found the fossil. But at least this name can give chills 💀
"This is Predator X. An Animal that must go down in History as one of the Ocean's Most Deadly Hunters." - (John Hurt) Predator X is A.K.A for Pliosaurus.
If these things still existed there would still be some articles about how, its not actually trying to eat you, its mistaking you for a seal or smh like that.
I'm not even in the slightest inclined to go in to the ocean now a days, let alone when this beast of a monster would just casually swim around. Hard NOPE for me😂
Nah the turtle part makes sense because every time I see them the first this that comes to mind is a giant turtle without a shell, long beak, and many sharp teeth
Considering how big they were we likely wouldn't have to worry much as long as we stayed away from the beaches. However, sea travel would have been difficult
the whole turtle relative theory is pretty iffy, it's more likely that at least one of them is just completely unrelated to any modern group of reptiles
I remember when I would look up “Megaladon vs. Predator X” videos when I was a kid
Yeah same here, good times
Same here . Especially "leviathan vs megalodon " for me
Oh so you’re gay
Those were the days eh
I do the same thing
Damn, if they still existed someone would go like "Tutel!" and just get eaten
I mean probably not, there is a certain threshold for if a predator would want to eat you & if it wouldn’t care. pliosaurus would be in the threshold of wasting energy chewing & swallowing
@@MB32904 Eh, you're probably right

One of the coolest name I've ever heard of
Yeah it sounds like a supervillain name
This thing sounds like belongs in a fantasy game/movie.
The actual species name is Pliosaurus funkei.
@@hplovecraftcat thats a pretty *funky* name huh

Also predator-X: *related to a fricking box turtle*
No. Predator X is Related to Sea Turtles from the Flipper and Tail Shape as well as Adaptability in Saltwater

So it actually is real?
I have never heard a single person who isn't a scientist call them Pliosaurus. Everyone calls them Predator X.
@@TheDinoFax oh so they're the same species?
@@ihatemyneighbour226 Yes

Turtles ancestors are scarier than the one we have now
No this are like your buff cousin that's 6ft4.
More like the Sea Turtles’ Ancestor
To be fair, a smaller one that can bite your hand off is still intimidating to handle.
Predator X!!!! I remember watching a documentary on this guy when I was little!
LOL
Predator X is such an nostalgic name for me as the first marine reptile predator I learned about, and this short did the species justice
Finally some marine life coverage. Now all we’re missing is bulldog fish and shionisaurus.
Imagine going from top tier ocean predator to choking on straws lmfao

But then having a franchise of ninja brothers that went from choking on straws to fighting Shredder

Jurassic world should do a underwater series

Predator X would be the Orcas only natural predator

Sea Turtle: Don’t Forget Us!

Gives me nostalgia from planet dinosaur also known as the original prehistoric planet
I find it fascinating that they are related to turtles
Mostly Sea Turtles
I remember watching that exact episode about them when I was a child
i mean even if turtles are their closest relatives they're still very distantly related

Glad to see some footage from planet dinosaur

I just love the name predator x. It sounds like some kind of dangerous science experiment.

On top of all of that a metal band also made a song dedicated to Predator X, cause it's's just that cool
Predator x: *Eats an archelon.*
Now that's cannibalism!! 😂😂🐢
"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,

The thing just eats Lapras 😂
If only there was a Fossil Pokemon Designed after Predator X
Ain't no way a fricking turtle can evolved into a monster 💀
Just Look at the Flippers and Tail of Predator X
Turtles back then: im the jurassic oceans apex predator!
Turtles now:halp i ingest plastic bag :/
Predator X Suffered Extinction
Sea Turtles Suffered Ocean Pollution

I mean hippos are the closest relative to whales and dolphins so this doesn't even surprise me anymore.
évaluation is just something else
The ancestors of turtles are that massive💀

Mosasurus: theres always a bigger fish 😎😎
Evolution in general is weird. It's one of the reasons why doubters call it a BS theory.
Funny how these guys traded their ferocity for peacefulness 😆
They definitely look kinda similar to turtles
This used to be my fav marine reptile but then I forgot it existed.
I imagine these things being like large ocean crocodiles
But they’re Not Crocodiles despite the Look of Their Jaws
And archelon wasnt a turtles relative- makes sense!

I will say this Turtles were built different back then
With Crocodile Jaws and No Shell
I’ve asked this a lot but could you do a review in ceratosaurus, I find it interesting
You know it's a monster when it's name is quite literally "Predator X"
"If these guys were still alive, I'd be much less inclined to go into the ocean"
