I think McDonald’s was just too far ahead of its time with a “gourmet burger.” They should try again! That peppercorn mustard might need to make its way into my pantry!
I prefer bread instead of a bun, toasted always makes it better.. we didn't get the Arch Deluxe in Canada -- can't remember but ours was the McDLT but it wasn't that great as they served it with the cold stuff on one side the hot stuff on the other and you had to put it together and it just didn't stay warm enough when you got it
If you are a normal thinking person, you do not call a Burger a Sandwich, you do not call a Hotdog a Sandwich, that is just weird. If you are a normal person and someone says let's go out and get a Sandwich and they take you to a Burger place wouldn't that be considered weird. When someone says Sandwich, you should automatically think of lunchmeat, Cold cuts like Bologna, Ham, Turkey, Salami not a Burger. If a Burger were a Sandwich, then why can't you get one at Subway, Jersey Mikes, etc, etc. We had a sales rep at my job bring us some Sandwiches for lunch, we were all in the breakroom talking about who is the best Sandwich shop. Some said Subway, Jersey Mikes, this weirdo said Five Guys which is a Burger place, I got confused and said to him, there is a Sandwich shop named Five Guys, he said yes, the Burger place. I said to him if you consider a Burger place a Sandwich shop then why can't you get a Ham Sandwich at Five Guys.
In all my years I have only met 1 person who calls a Burger a Sandwich. Everyone I know who wants a Burger will say let's go get a Burger, they do not say Sandwich. If your brain is wired correctly and they say let's go out and get a Sandwich you will automatically think a Sandwich place, Subway, Jersey Mikes, Cousins, Firehouse, Potbelly, not Burger King.@@SandwichesofHistory
Language was different 100 years ago. I can’t quite place off the top of my head where I’ve heard the phrase “hamburger sandwich” in old films but I know I have. And the proof that what I’m saying is true is that the PHRASE IS PUBLISHED IN THE 1930 MENU BOOK IN THIS VIDEO!
I never realized my sad apartment hamburgers where in fact historical!
Same! (I forgot to buy hamburger buns)
If it ain't broke don't fix it.
it had to happen in a world before brioche buns. i always thought of getting a hamburger bun as holiday level excess growing up.
Barry you are an odd fellow but I must say...you ham a good burger.
😂🙌
My mom used to make this, she called it "McDonald's at home".
*"Boar's Head: they should be paying me"* 😂🤣

That's how Grandma made my burgers.

Whoa! Bill oakley! The crossover we needed!
The main sin of the Arch Deluxe was that it was geared more towards adults than kids
Hahahahaha loved the unexpected Simpsons Staff interruption! Arch Deluxe looked pretty damn good! Maybe next you could attempt a McRib...
He doesn’t have a lab to make the “ribs” though 😂

This is the vintage "Homemade Hamburger" spoken of in the famous dissertation by Eddie Murphy

I don't remember the Arch Deluxe having spicy mustard.
Something with a “circle of bacon” failed with McDonald’s customers?!

Was the Arch Deluxe the one that came in the 'two chamber' package?
I think you're referring to the McDLT which kept "the cool side cool and hot side hot" supposedly.
It’s a burger with sandwich bread that’s adorable 😅❤
But...that's how it started out?
