I’ve got myself a small collection of carbon racers now mainly purchased on mega discount when the colourways are older - pretty much all less than £150. I think using an older set for the same kind of training works well.
The pricing is really weird. It's an expensive shoe for just speed workouts. However speed workouts are only about 20% of weekly volume so these should last a very long time. Maybe 2 years to clock up 600km of speed repeats. For me it's for cost effective to use old carbon race shoes for tempo.
Agreed, especially when it doesn't have a true performance foam. I just don't think it's a strong value when it's not priced much lower than the ES and runs the same as the Boston and Deviate, all of which can work much better for long runs.
@@OSUCarolit’s just a better shoe than the Boston and the deviate though for almost everything except a long run. Like if you’re looking for a shoe to do speed work in this is clearly a better option than the Boston so the value is clear to see.
I bought this for strides and interval days but use Stryd workout plan and they have you doing long warm ups and cool down runs which seem WAY too long for these shoes.
I like em for 5k 10k racing, tempo and speed work. To me they feel best going faster than 4:30 per km…even better faster than 4m p/km. Can’t say they’re great for longer slow runs. Intervals with breaks yes…continuous slower than 4:50 not so much. They feel good when moving quick.
Guys, I am given an old garmin venu sq watch. I am a newbie runner thath only run for 50-70 km/week. When should I upgrade my running watch? What is your running watch recommendation for me? Thank you guys

I just Love how shoe looks
I was at the same rainy Telford parkrun! Congrats on the win!
Thanks! It’s a great parkrun, always try and do it when up visiting family
The Magic Speed 3 is not a “Super Trainer”, it is a classic tempo trainer and brilliant at that.
And not marketed as one either.
Great review gents. Would be interested to see a review with this vs the Takumi Sen

@@OSUCarolthe price is due to the carbon plate

Good video 👍🏻🏃🏽♂️
Would you recommend it for a sprint training session on a (harder) track, including drills and exercises (mini hurdles, etc.)?
Any ASICS geek who can tell me how would they compare with a pair of ASICS Gel-Windhawk 4?
I am tempted to buy these to level-up my running.
Would you consider either this or the Magic Speed 2 for a marathon if you were looking for an alternative to the top tier carbon shoes?
“Slow…fast runs”. Could you indicate paces please (m/s or km pace). Thanks guys.

@Theruntester would you choose the Magicspeed 3 or the Brooks Elite 3 if they both cost you 135€ for 10km Races? Thanks
