- A RING video doorbell captures the terrifying moment armed police officers raid the wrong address.
The footage shows laser sights pointed at Eddie Croasdell, 56, as he is cuffed and dragged outside in his boxers and T-shirt.
But the officers’ blunder meant the knifeman they were hunting got away. Sky engineer Eddie, of St Albans, Herts, said: “I was woken up to bashing at my door on Sunday morning at 8.30am to see what looked like a platoon of US Marines standing outside.
“I was completely, completely terrified. I opened up and was painted with laser targets and someone shouting, ‘Put your hands over your head’. I thought, ‘S*** they must think I’m a terrorist. They are going to shoot me’.
“I racked my brains to think of something I might have done recently or in the past - but I can’t even bring myself to drop litter. While the police were treating me like Osama Bin Laden, the guy they wanted got away.
“How did they got it so wrong? I mean, it’s not like South Central LA or something, it’s St Albans.”

@@mikebreen2890 Its more understandable for the Police to be properly armed in countries such as the US, given the local gun culture and how easily criminals can get their hands on firearms either through black market or by simply stealing.
In the UK, you can be arrested and charged for merely talking to an officer in a wrong manner, or if you express your opinions about something that can be considered "problematic".
@@pohjantuulet247 Criminals can do the same in the UK, just because you have laws against guns, doesn't mean they go away. Criminals will always strive for an upper hand against the people they prey on, because you've been disarmed by your government it's a relatively simple thing to do really. We gun loving Americans just like to maintain a level of self protection, we like to be on an equal playing field to would be robbers and criminals; instead of relying on the government to protect us.
Black markets exist everywhere, particularly in places where certain items are banned.
Also, it's not easy for a criminal to get his or her hands on firearm in the US, background checks are actually quite extensive and typically take months. Despite that some of the most heinous gun crimes are committed by people who passed these checks or steal firearms from relatives, not from gun stores. Someone steals a gun from a gun store you're going to see an entire county police force going after the thief. No one method is perfect, and if you want my opinion I think our gun laws are stupidly strict here in America as they only enable the criminals to possess firearms while the civilians do not.
Good thing in America is our Constitution, which protects our freedom of speech and right to bear arms. Any cop stupid enough to arrest someone here simply because they talk in the wrong manner, can expect a plethora of lawsuits filed against them lol.

You were one wrong finger away from ending your life.. It happens with the police a number of times.. Thank god your still alive today to tell your story
I am here for you sir. That is just horrible. I hope you're ok
while his hands are up lazers from their weapons pointed over his heart area
There is a reason why a pizza delivery driver can always get to the right address while cops seem to have extreme difficulty doing the same thing. If a pizza delivery goes to the wrong house the delivery driver gets the cost deducted from his wages. Perhaps if the cops faced some kind of penalty for terrorising people themselves instead of the taxpayer picking up the bill they would become as highly skilled and professional as DoorDash drivers.
Is he taking this to court or taking the matter to his local MP because these people can’t kick in peoples doors that in itself is a crime we need massive reform in this country when it comes to the laws
Police powers allow them to when in a situation like this for example if a suspect breaks into someone's house, police is allowed to break into the property also they did have a warrant but they did a mistake and just went to wrong address
@@thfilmsproduction7003 they went to the wrong address…so therefore it was illegal what they done.
@@thfilmsproduction7003 schlop schlop schlop that police baton sure tastes good, eh
👮-😤-👮💬 That's what happens in the UK when you don't pay your parking fine!
That or if you don’t pay your council tax… kick your door in and steal all your stuff… You lose your job can’t afford to pay your rent and then your door gets kept in and they take all your stuff… lol
@@brookerobertson2951 I can remember being on a National Express coach when armed police officers boarded, shouting and ordering passengers off. When we saw they were talking to one passenger in particular, someone quipped, "What's he done, not paid his fare or been caught smoking in the toilet?"
Is this what's going to happen to me if I keep getting banned from Facebook for writing "mean things"?
Yes

Why do they feel the need to capitalise ONE word in the title all the time
I smell a lawsuit cooking 👃🍽
You must be a Yank. Lawsuit, lawsuit, lawsuit. Your first thought is lawsuit.
Only the lawyers win in a lawsuit.
Man if this happened to me… I’d sue the police to the point they wouldn’t be able to afford uniforms. Disgusting behaviour. How can you do a raid without being 100% sure that it’s the correct house ? This situation could have ended badly if someone opened the door and made wrong moves in all that confusion.
So you want a society without Police? Well done. Clown.
What is completely wrong about this is the way the police keep pointing their loaded firearms at this man after he has done everything that the police had shouted at him to do. It should have been obvious to the police that he wasn't armed, and at this point, their weapons should have been lowered to prevent a deadly accident from occurring.
The guns would never accidentally discharge these are highly trained individuals holding those guns. If anything they were probably still with safety on and pointing a gun is an intimidating thing to get a suspect to comply
Yes Tyrone im a professional, but i cant read a map.
@@thfilmsproduction7003 are you sure armed police have never shot anybody by accident.
@@thfilmsproduction7003 😬 well that's not what happened to that woman cop a while back who shot someone instead of using her tazer. There's still a chance for it to happen no matter how professional they are.
@@demolitiondummy9712 That was the regular police in America these are armed police in the UK which are supposed to be highly trained but now i doubt that now
All i can think of is the traumatic stress this man will have for the rest of his life and his family. I feel so sorry for him and think he deserves a public apology. Hope he gets the support he needs. Good luck.
Are you kidding? He's in the UK. The NHS will absolutely set him up with ALL the counseling he needs,... in about 7 years.
If that was America the cops would have a lawsuit and hefty bill on their hands.
Power hungry sicko that said they're pros. Sad to hear no one apologised and I can't imagine how shaken up the guy or his son were.
I bloody well hope this poor fella and his son sue the arse off those responsible for this - disgraceful behaviour from the Stormtroopers!
F Knobs aint they 💯. Just goes to show how good our intelligence is 🤦♂️. Laughable 😂😂
And how they all laughed when they realised their mistake 🤣
This is an extremely traumatic incident. A terrifying situation. That man deserves an honest apology from the police.
I feel this guy's fear and I can feel how traumatized he is. Something similar happend to me and my girlfriend a while back we were both under 18 and we ended up being thrown out of the apartment we were in about 1:30 am since they got the wrong address for some dispute and they threatened us and told us we couldn't come back so me and my girlfriend had to walk across the street to call my mom in probably this shittiest area of where we lived with constant assaults happening and it definitely traumatized me and nobody ended up getting in trouble for it and they just played it off as if nothing ever happend.
Definitely needs an explanation and a formal apology can't just get away with this just thinking of his son imagine the psychological trauma that's put him though
