I liked this review. I've seen this game reviewed a handful of times. None of the other reviews talked about the issues or features the game had. Thanks for doing a quick but thorough summary of the game.

I've had this game on my wishlist for quite a while now. Hopefully the performance issues will be resolved soon.
Favorite silent protagonist? Doomguy and his reckless disregard for "cinematic" storytelling. That was the last thing I expected from a AAA game and it made me incredibly happy that ID had the balls to do it.

Thanks for this informative review, though it'd have been better if you didn't spoil how the main character ended up with the unique arm - I'll probably forget by the time I get around to playing it though.
May I ask what music you have in the background? Is it from the game?

Thanks for the kind words. I guess I didn't view it as a spoiler since it happens in the first few minutes. I can see how you (and others) might view it as too much information, so I'll keep that in mind going forward. As for the music, both songs I used came directly from the game's soundtrack.

Toan from Dark Cloud is the best silent protagonist ever

Thank you for the review, how long is it the first time gameplay?

Looking at my Steam timer, it says I put in 9 hours to beat the game. That did not include finding all of the items and exploring thoroughly, so I would say that somebody could easily get 11 or 12 hours out of it.

Unfortunately, it seems the makers of Hob are no more. You can still play it, but don't expect updates, or a sequel. (that I still want.)

That's a shame. They were a promising developer.

Crono of Chrono Trigger; far and away the best silent protagonist to ever be.

... i get a sense of Zelda. did you get that at all while playing?

I almost addressed this. I got a Zelda vibe at first, but the actual gameplay and structure is much more geared around puzzles. You don't get the typical dungeons where you end up fighting a boss. There were times when this reminded me more of a Metroidvania game than Zelda, though I can definitely see the influence.

I like Link in Wind Waker because he actually emotes and reacts to all the bullshit that's happening around him
