Excellent video - great information! Keep the Tri Glide content coming!
I am glad that you you like the videos! Thank you for commenting! MB
Your vids are awesome!!! I’m new to the bike world. I got a Midwest chopper a few years back. I was told it was a Harley engine but it’s an Ultima. I’m just in love with the bike so I’m keeping it for now but my next one if ever happens will be a Harley for sure. Even thought if my motor fails I’ll put in a Harley motor.
I am glad that you are enjoying the videos and your ride no matter what kind of bike it is. Thank you for commenting! MB
I have built 2 bikes with the ultima engines and drivetrain. I did not regret either one. I my opinion the ultima is a better engine and I have been riding Harley since 1977. Both were 100 CI EVO engines and would outperform and outrun the factory HD.
Nice set up / what would you do for a 2010 tri glide 103 with 2 up people at about 390 . Riding open roads and mountain riding ???? Thanks
For a 103 that is running that hot, the first thing I would do is a Leak-down test. That will tell you if you have had significant heat damage. Here is a video on what & how on the test. It is something you can do yourself or have a shop do.

After that, whether there is significant damage or not, here is a link to a report on why and how to get it cooled down.

Here is a video that will give you optimum temps for your Tri Glide- ruclips.net/video/rWOdQOtDv6A/видео.html
And below is a video on the most practical & economical way to go about addressing the matter- ruclips.net/video/CAcF0T-Cs3E/видео.html
I just realized, when you say 390, maybe you are talking about weight, not temperature. If that is the case, then here is what I do with all my Harley's, and the wife, myself & luggage come in around 400 lbs.

Correction: The SE 462 cam is advertised as the power cam. The SE 447 cam is the torque cam I have in my in stage two 2023 Anniversary Tri Glide and it’s a hoot to ride.
Very informative video - I wasn’t trying to nit pick, just the cam designations are clear in the HD parts book.
Thanks for that! Glad you like the video! Thank you for commenting! MB
What is the rear tire on backwards to the front and what will this do for the tri glide ????
Here is a video on the rear tire reversed on the front that explains why Kevin and Chuck do this - ruclips.net/video/uZWDBsc6BEY/видео.htmlfeature=shared

Does Chuck use an engine fan?
Yes, as you can see in the video linked below, around the 7:20 mark, he uses Mighty Mite fans. Same think I used to use before switching the the ForceFlow Fan.

Where is the trike dyno location? I don't know of any here in Tennessee and really want to get my Freewheeler dyno'd.
Closest one I know of near Memphis, TN is in Red Bay, Alabama. DC Cycle & Racing. It's about 150 miles from Memphis.

Chuck was saying his was done in Kentucky somewhere.
You can go to DynoJet and go to the Motorcycle Dyno center and put in your zip code and it will pull up locations near you. You can then call the company and ask if they have a Trike Dyno and hopefully you will find one near you.

Does Chuck use a EBS ?
Yes, he does! He is using the EBS that we sell to go with the stock nipple head bolts that come stock on some bikes. You can see that EBS at this link - www.dkcustomproducts.com/external-breather-system-w-catch-can-harley-twin-cam-dk-tc-brt-cc.htm
You can see other options of EBS at this link - www.dkcustomproducts.com/breather-systems-c21.htm
If you are trying to decide which EBS will work with your bike you can see a report at this link that is helpful in deciding which EBS will work with your Air Cleaner - www.dkcustomproducts.com/getting-the-right-external-breather-systems-ebs-for-your-bike.htm
Here is a video we recently made about choosing the right EBS that you may also find useful/interesting - ruclips.net/video/85jEZjX6Dhw/видео.html

@@DKCustomProducts Genetics 😅😅😅
His triglide is minimal compared to my build. My triglide has 11.5 to 1 pistons with +1 extreme CNC ported screamin eagle heads with S&S roller rockers and shafts. All my bolts inside and out are ARP plus I have an S&S oil pump and cam plate with a Wood 77x cam. I’m running a fuel Moto tune with a power vision with wide band O2 sensors. You guys helped my with my oil filter relocation and my Ultra Cool oil cooler. I have a Vance and Hines head pipe with rinehart slip ons. I would say based on other builds like mine with like parts it should be somewhere north of 150 hp. I have several other parts related to the clutch and transmission / compensator but all in and I did all the labor, I’m at 11 grand.
Wow!! Need a video of it
Sounds like a LOT of Fun to Ride. What a great build! Would love to hear it, see it go, and see a dyno!
Thanks for your comment, and your business, we appreciate it! 👍
@JV-zt8lc And a dyno!
Wow sounds like an impressive build. Glad you have been able to build your bike how you want it! Would love to see it in action!!!!
Thank you for your business and for commenting! 😎MB
cool beans
I don’t get it. In Australia several major HD dealerships told me that HD don’t recommend doing Stage IV on 2019 Freewheeler. I even rang Milwaukee and was told not to go above Stage II as the drive train can’t handle the extra torque and yet I have seen several guys whose M8 trikes are Stage IV. What’s the deal? Meanwhile I have to settle for my Stage II which I am happy with but would love to go all the way to 131 Cubic Inch. FRUSTRATED!!!
Yes, we've heard this misinformation before...from individuals, from Dealerships, and even from the mothership.
Depending on how you ride, that extra power can definitely tear up the drivetrain...as you heard Chuck say, he does not dump the clutch. He also does not do burn-outs or wheelies (on purpose). He will go full throttle, taking full advantage of all the power, but only once moving at a good clip. If he does it while going slower, it just lifts the front wheel off the ground, and if it is abrupt (zero throttle to full throttle in 1 quick twist) that is when you can see clutch, transmission or differential issues.
We know many folks running the 131 in their Trikes with No issues, but they ride as described above to keep abrupt power off the drivetrain.
Hope that helps! 👍😎👍
