I feel so old by looking at all the comments that most of people here started to listen to this song recently ... when I was first introduced with this duo, I was 16 and now I'm 28yr old. Time flies!!!!
Just thought of that. Their first album, I listened to every day in the army when we finally got to go to sleep. I was 19, now I am 34. Holy balls, time flies.
I met Erlend. he sang to me and my best friend in a empty bar, he sang the redemption song by bob marley. I didn't know who he was at the time.. when I found out I flipped out. was an amazing moment
Erlend once asked me if I could drive him somewhere, and that he would pay for it. I told him no, didn't want to leave my buddies. "Ok, I still like you," he replied.
i have been searching this song and music video for years and i have found it randomly... It suddenly appeared on the RUclips home page by itself. i am so happy now.
This clip means so much to me. I'm a dance teacher and I always preach that my students should have fun, I'm not a teacher of professional dancers. my classes are totally focused on fun. Thank you for this beautiful song.
i love it that you make it fun for the kids, no matter what age they be, cuz inside the real you and the real me, we're always young at heart, Flavia Fit.
Craziest thing... In 2023 I moved to a small parcel of land, owned ultimately by a friend's family, which was no more than a junkyard in reality. I lived there about a year (in a tent, living off tips from playing my original music in town) and got offered a job at the local Hardee's I'd spent a lot of time at recently due to a loophole in their system allowing me free meals everyday. At that Hardee's job, I heard this song at least once a day and I loved it every time!
You should check out "Fireworks" and "Burning" by The Whitest Boy Alive. Same singer, similar vibe. He also did a folk circle with a bunch of other notable artists you can check out here ruclips.net/video/-OgO146Ivck/видео.html if you're interested. Great stuff.
About once a year I find this song, listen to it 15 times in a row, then let it go for another year.... practicing these wicked dance moves all year long.
I remember an alternative rock station played this at like 1am in 2008 or something. Needless to say I fell in love with all their stuff. Thank goodness I went to a bar that night or I might have missed it.
Hearing this song during a concert where they played (Medellin, Colombia) and then called the audience to dance on stage was just epic. First time hearing the band live and they did not disappoint.
I want to see a remake! 😀 After the girls became women and stay positive and still dance like that in their life routines. For me this video is about a positive thinking and about a distance to the world and having fun instead. It's very nice.
i just love the entire story of the music video. like he gets kicked out for doing things differently and being himself and then grows up to be a rad dance teacher. and i love how proud of his class he is at the end. :') so sweet.
My uncle gave me a mp3 Player for my 13th birthday and put this song on it. I really liked it ever since. This is the first time I saw the music video and it's so wholesome.
IKR? Erlend has such a charm about him especially in this video. I think they're both really attractive. (Also Eirik's smile at the end kills me every time.)
You can see Eirik's wife sitting with the crowd next to a guy who she talks to, she's smiling, minute 3:13. She actually appears in the cover of two of their albums and also in the Toxic Girl videoclip. And yep, they're still together and have two kids.
Fun story. I began quarantine last year with a Norwegian girl who had come to Argentina. She showed me this band one morning as we were making breakfast. She went back to Norway and now I get sad listening to this.
Indie music is like everything in life. You want to chase your dream but your too comfortable in the moment even if its close to your grasp. music wise people are so comfortable listening to drake and mumble rap without pushing the effort to find good music.
Still some of the best string quartet arranging ever! Fantastic musicians all around. Listen to this weekly almost a decade later. Thanks for the great tunes :)
This is never getting old. I cry of joy here! And I can not help pointing out the semifact that they use a word that is hardly ever used in popmusic. I only know this one song that uses the word "misinterpretation", a very hard word to rhyme, and they make it work perfectly!
You should report that teacher, he/she was trying to get you to dance with him/her when you were 14 years old. God bless you you're alive. That was close.
I thought this was a new music video until i saw the quality was 360p and i was like wait a minute. I think either these guys were ahead of their time or the same things are trending again
I honestly hardly ever find music I fall in love with these days. It’s only a special few that get added to my playlist list line up, & Kings of Convenience have just made it. This song has the right amount of bop it makes me so happy and inspired ❤🎵❤
I always loved this song ...rhythm but lyircs too... I was always little bit of shy when showing my feeling towards girls but always felt more secure on dance floor , more relaxed to show my emotions...so "I rather dance than talk to you" is something I can relate

I just found them because of the new song they dropped recently. Theyre so good though!

Yeah, but bybmy own mind with random thoughts
These 2 are absolute legends and extremely underrated

Finding this song made my day
I got recommended this song on RUclips 5 years ago and now I’m flying internationally to see them in a few months!
Good job matching the young boy with Erlend! What a fun catchy song to dance to!!!
Had a nostalgic attack, I listened so much to this song when I was 12, I've such good memories from that time.
this song sounds like an indie that could've been released today and I love that
Huh completely different
i was thinking exactly the same, never gets old!
Gosh, memories. It puts a spontaneous smile on my face.
