"strong" opinion and a "relevant/informed" opinion. Anyone can have a strong opinion and still be completely wrong. Look at most politics. All kinds of people have extremely strong opinions about political points they haven't the slightest clue about. Their opinions don't evaporate - they're just irrelevant. In that case you can try to educate the opinion holder but it most likely won't do any good. In this case, these guys make a living off bad opinions and wouldn't stop having them for anyone's sake.

The 3 at the desk have known nothing but glory all their lives, they don't know what it's like to support a team who for most of their lives have been shit. We've finally started to see some progress and Moyes has undelivered, he admits this himself. Please stop with this waffle, the separation is justified.

As a West Ham fan, I both agree and disagree with everyone.
Yes, Moyes helped us with a trophy, last year but we also were dog awful in the league and finished 14th. This year, especially the second half of the season, we have played some of the worst football I've seen in 25 years of support (palace, fulham and arsenal, just to say), we are a top half team and have conceded 4+ goals way too many times this season . He's stagnated, both in improving us and tactically. Lopetegui isn't the new manager I would dream for (that's Amorim but Sullivan is a frugal man), but he turned Wolves season around after they were dreadful, sured up their defence (something we need), has vast youth knowledge and is happy to implement them, and did wonders with sevilla too. I will forever be grateful for Moyes but its time to move on.

David Moyes is a great manager but… last year we were fighting relegation, this year we have conceded the 3rd most amount of goals in the prem only won 4 times in 2024, have conceded 4 goals or more the most in the prem (apart from Sheffield), lost twice to Bristol, can’t even bring up Arsenal and Chelsea game, argued and disagreed with decisions made by the chairman’s and director, and constantly blames the players.

  • @mattmitchell913

i hate this idea that teams aren't allowed to aim for improvement and just settle for what they have because their name is 'x'. 4 seasons ago (talking about league) West Ham, Villa and Newcastle were pretty equal, since then Newcastle and Villa (probably) have had a new manager and smart recruitment which sees them finish in a Champions league place. Why isnt the big six competition an issue for them? The name of a team should not hold so much weight in determining where people think they should be finishing in the league. West Ham's current attack is borderline Champions League quality but Moyes chose to set up with a defensive mindset no matter the opposition. This saw us barely scrape a win and a draw vs Burnley, a win and a draw vs Sheffield, a 2-0 loss to Forest, a 5-2 loss to Palace, a 4-1 loss to Villa, 3-0 to Utd, 6-0 to Arsenal, 5-1 to Liverpool, 5-0 To Fulham, aswell as getting knocked out the Cup to Bristol City. David Moyes has done and excellent job at steadying the ship, but he is not a manger to try and compete at the higher levels. I respect him massively but it is time to move on.

I think that two things can be true. David Moyes has been our most successful manager in our club's history, however; he needs to go at the same time. I will always appreciate what he has done for the club, getting us into Europe 3/5 seasons he was there, and getting us our first trophy in 40 years. However, he's reached his ceiling for us as a coach. We want to hopefully move on from just getting top 6-7, and hopefully move into the CL spots.
David Moyes will never get us there, because he is terrible at making lineup changes/tactical adjustments. He's cost us many a game because he either puts on the subs WAY too late, or he takes out our only offensive output, and plays to defend our leads, and not try to extend our leads in games. That's a big reason why we lost to Newcastle this season, was because he took off Antonio and JWP, and put on Ben Johnson (a RB), and Kalvin Philips, who is the worst loan player that our club has ever had. We took off our offensive threat, and played to hold out, and got battered on the other end for the last 30+ minutes.

Hammers fan here, Moyes as manager has been unsustainable since last year, especially in the Premier League. We finished 14th and we’re fighting relegation for a lot of the season. The conference league was the best day of my life as a West Ham fan, but it covered a lot of cracks. If you don’t watch West Ham, you just cannot understand our perspective, 5-0, 6-0, 5-2 losses just to start. We are all thankful to Moyes overall, he stabilised our club and we can’t thank him enough, he just can’t take us further is all, and all parties have accepted it

The truth about the GAS LIGHTING David Moyes, these are not my opinions as they are clear FACTS!
    1. When Moyes took over the managers job in 2013 he sacked all of Fergies multiple league & cup winning backroom staff because Moyes wanted complete control of all of the aspects of the club. 12 years later the club have still not recovered from his incompetence
    2. Having been SACKED by United in 2014 Moyes moved onto Real Sociedad where he lasted a year with a win rate of 29% before being SACKED AGAIN
    3. During Moyes' time at Real Sociedad he did not make any attempts to learn Spanish. Sometime later Moyes got a new rule introduced within the Scottish FA that all new Scottish Managers who were undertaking their required badges had to learn a second language even though HE NEVER DID!
    4. In 2016 Moyes joined Sunderland where he got them RELEGATED after achieving an amazingly low 19% win rate. Just like Man Utd, Sunderland have never recovered from it!
    5. Moyes agreed to take over the WHU manager job whilst Slaven Bilic was still in charge 2017 (Slimy or what) for Moyes to then go onto having a 29% win rate even though Bilic win rate was 38%
    6. In 2018 WHU decided not to extend Moyes 1 year contract so they brought onboard the 10 yes TEN managerial trophy winning Pelegrini as their new manager. The board had a knee jerk reaction in sacking him 18 months later in 2019 when WHU were in the relegation zone even though there was a good chance that he would have secured Prem League safety had he been allowed to carry on.
    7. The WHU board decided to bring back David Moyes who previously had a 29% win rate to replace Pelegrini who had a win rate of 38% (the same as Bilic)
    8. Moyes steadied the ship over the next 4 seasons whilst "AS HE LIKES TO TELL EVERYONE" that "HE" won them their first cup in 40 years ... and he did ... but look at the FACTS ... as the WHU had given Moyes over £500m worth of talent over the past 4 years. The really amazing fact is that this sum of money was MORE than ALL OF the teams that WHU played in that European competition COMBINED!!!
    9. Moyes has an amazingly concerning poor history of hand picking new players himself that cost the club tens of millions of pounds to then play them out of position. When it all goes wrong as it commonly does, Moyes then gives the players the cold shoulder and pushes them out of the door at a major financial loss as he did with Haller, Scamacca, Benrahma, Vlasic & Cornet to name a few
    10. WHU has one of the best academies in world football at the moment but Moyes simply will not play these young players even in cup competitions against lesser teams like Bristol City who funny enough beat WHU because our team was simply tied because of the lack of player rotation
    11. Considering the £500m that Moyes has wasted over the 4 years, he is leaving the club with the smallest and OLDEST squad in the Prem League.
So there you go, just a few FACTS about the useless snake oil salesman David Moyes who for some really weird reason has the football media in his pocket as they constantly patronise the WHU fans with ignorant statements like "Be careful what you wish for" as these clowns don't pay to watch the narcissistic one trick negative pony David Moyes terrible so called football

West Ham have defenders who are bad on the ball, but other than that their team should definitely be around European places with a good style of play. If they played as they do against good teams and go for it against rubbish ones, they wouldn’t have dropped so many points to lower sides.

Absolutely appalling analysis on this podcast. Speaking as if you're a dedicated West Ham fan, yet ignoring glaring issues. Conceding 5 to Chelsea, Fulham, Arsenal (6), and Crystal Palace is unacceptable. Only 3 teams have conceded more goals, all relegated (remember we are a 'defensive team'). And let's not overlook our 4th least possession in the league, despite having Paqueta, Bowen and Kudus. We're also the 3rd lowest for attacks in the final third. With a keeper making the most saves in the league, our XG in the lower half of the table, and the 2nd oldest squad in the league, it's clear something's been wrong for a long time. We have spent 100s of millions here. Winning just 5 games this year while leaking so many goals is unacceptable for a 'defensive minded manager'. Lopetegui may not be the answer, but he must bring balance. End the defensive drills; we need more than praying for individual brilliance to win a game. Thank you Moyes for the incredible night in Prague but it was time to move on.

I have been to anfield more times than I can remember and I’m Cornish, Lived there most of my life. But I wouldn’t say someone who hasn’t been to anfield isn’t a fan of the club. That’s mental. The fact they watch every week at an absurd time because of time difference is enough for me to show they’re a fan.
