Really hope this hasn't annoyed the Achilles! We can wait for a walk. Your health comes first! Without your Achilles, there ARE no vids. Just thinkin' of your welfare, dude. Thank you as ever for another beautiful walk. The gifts Mother Nature blesses us with via your efforts is breathtaking.
Absolutely gorgeous!! Thank you for taking us along. That countryside is just beautiful. As an American, this is the landscape I think of when I think of the English countryside. Thank you again for taking us along.
our countryside is beautiful..we have a very unique landscape which varies so much...from the lake district and the yorkshire dales in the north to the beautiful norfolk broads and the peak district in the midlands/east anglian coastline...to the west country and devon/cornwall..its so unique as every region we have is far different from each other...however the north is so much prettier and better to visit as the south is far more populated...to our colonial cousins over the atlantic..they are always welcome...
Omg the path you're walking in is a path of my dreams. Be grateful you got that scenery people around the world even here in USA wish we had more natural trails and cobblestone walls and bridges leading to another clear meadow. Fantastic
Great walk, such beautiful scenery. I'm sure I would lose my path up there, looked a bit confusing in places. Loved your "waffle" about creative/non creative days, so true. Have to say you carried that well deserved pint very steady to the table...lol...love to wee Finn🐕.
Ive got to be honest , i dont mind the wofflege as you call it i enjoy your videos very much and what you have to say especially the occasional " Hey Herdie! " which has me in fits. So i just thought id let you know and say thankyou and all the best.😊👍
Great video...I did a big route back on 20th August around there taking in those peaks and more as below...good to watch your videos to know what I was looking at, I'm terrible with the names 😂 Pavey Ark (700 m) • ⛰️ Harrison Stickle (736 m) • ⛰️ Thorn Crag (644 m) • ⛰️ Loft Crag (682 m) • ⛰️ Pike of Stickle (708 m) • ⛰️ Thunacar Knott (723 m) • ⛰️ High Raise (762 m) • ⛰️ Sergeant Man (736 m) • ⛰️ Blea Rigg (541 m) • ⛰️ Little Castle How (481 m) • ⛰️ Swinescar Pike (411 m) • ⛰️ Silver How (395 m)
Absolutely agree about the creativity, I find when I try and my head’s not in the right space then all I end up creating is mediocre at best - a complete mess at worst.
On a family weekend away recently it was raining constantly so no one wanted to get out and I ran a route, the same first part of the route to Blea Rigg, but then turning towards Silver Howe. The whole journey was ankle deep water, basically the paths were rivers. Hilarious conditions. Loved every moment of this stunning place though! It’s my favourite part of the lakes.
It just shows how the weather can break a person. It was good viewing your blustery adventure. Glad you survived to tell the tale. Love the dramatic scenery.😉
Ace that mate and thanks for sharing, it’s my sunrise hiking time of year and this week is perfect for them with inversions, good weather and quietness etc 👌👍
Awesome you are back hiking the trails wonderful scenery the different colors ,the mountains, beautiful waterfall ,the animals, lake absolutely spectacular views ,thanks for taking us along on your journey stay safe
So many sweet spots to pitch up but weather can change, usually the way grass blows and points is a clue to any slight hill that may shelter you from the elements
Through adversity it benefitted your channel but yes a scary night that you survived ,love the walk up to Easedale from Grasmere, great views as per usual
"I'm absolutely Hank Marvin" 😅, haven't heard that one for starvin' before. But I do like The Shadows, as I always enjoy your videos, especially when you take me home. ❤ I did that walk a few years ago with my sister, showing her the house where I was born (Thorney How) on the way. After leaving Easedale Tarn, I'm guessing we took the righthand path towards the crags. We then walked down to Stickle Tarn, down Stickle Ghyll and back to Grasmere via Chapel Stile, High Close and Red Bank. - Missing Grasmere Sports!
Well thank you for letting me come along on this adventure. I've seen lots of videos of the lake district but they are all different since they are seen through different eyes and the views are always a bit different and I enjoyed coming along with you very much so I am subscribing to your channel and look forward to going on many more adventures. See you next time. Dwayne
Just subscribed, brilliant stuff, hard to imagine doing these walks in hobnail boots, tweeds, canvas Bergen, flat hat and a pipe, bet Wainwright took Kendal mint cake with him, and water in an old army felt covered enamelled water flask.
That bit about the creative days/non-creative days really resonated with me. I tend to beat myself up about it a lot. It's nice to know I'm not alone. ❤️
Your videos are fantastic and they inspired me to walk up catbells yesterday, it nearly killed me i stopped about 20 times lol but wow was it worth it.
Epicly stunning Mr Crag! As it happens, Tarn Crag was our 214th and final WW so that picture you showed that you took in the snow, well, we need to buy it as a momento of our completion (just gotta wait til we get back from hols, we're heading up to the Lakes on Wed, actually cannot wait!!). We love Far Easedale and the tarn, such a beautiful area (hence why we chose it to be our final). Epic :)
29:05 Mate I swear to God I fell at the exact same spot when I went there a few months back 🤯 I'll always remember passing you on the way up to your last dramatic visit to Blea Rigg on Stickle Ghyll and having a chat👍
Memories. Done in three - Blea Rigg from Silver How and down by Easedale Tarn when the only hole in the cloud cover in Lakeland was over the Vale of Grasmere, High Raise and Sergeant Man in perfect summer blue and yellow from Langdale by Mill Gill (I will NEVER call it S*****e Ghyll) and Bright Beck, Tarn Crag on a Sunday out from Manchester following the ridge up from Far Easedale and crossing Fiddle Steps. It all looks very different now, even the most recent of those is over thirty years back...
Amesome vlog as always. My wife and I are in the lakes for two weeks next week and will be going on this walk. Hope the achilles is on the mend. Keep up the amazing work, you are top bloke and a true inspiration to us all. 🏞🏔⛰️🗻
Love the lakes, although I don’t live that far away, I don’t get there as often as I’d like…and as I’m stuck behind a desk most days, it’s nice to go out on a virtual black crag walk…reason enough to subscribe I think 😊
Good job Glenn. The weather looked quite nice by the time you got to the pub 😂. Hope the Achilles is holding up. That looked a very nice pint btw; what was it? Take care mate.
Thank You for another exciting, and picturesque adventure, BC. So glad there was no potential of you becoming a human kite this time! 😊 As an artist, and photographer, I totally agree with you, you just can't force inspiration. And you are so right when you say "And don't beat yourself up about it!" It's about balance, when you're in the flow, you will put the time in. When you're not, you rest. It all balances out. 💚
Catching up after being away with work. Escapism at its best! Even though the content is best enjoyed with visuals, it works just as well in audio only podcast. ❤
Beautifully filmed and presented once again Glenn...You have inspired me to get to the lakes more so im starting hiking the wainwright's on the 30th...Thanks once again
Hi mate, Is the parking for this one, free parking? Looks like a private hotel on google maps! Planning tomorrows walk and trying to figure out where to leave the car. Love your content and your photography. Thanks Ste
It’s so strange to see pools of water that high up in the hills and mountains, they like glorified ponds or elevated lakes, wet dream for a geography teacher, imagine that school Trip
Hi, please can I ask which mapping you use at the start of your vids, and if they are copyright free? Thinking they would look nice in my MTB vids. Cheers 👍
In the Brecon Beacons (I think) there’s some wonderful guys who are removing the bracken - with something that looks like it should be in a video game - and then planting native trees. Bracken is awful stuff for smothering the land and killing wild species. Maybe one day they can show us how it’s done!
Sour Milk Ghyll apparently got its name from the white frothing waters and that it’s with Churn Milk Force but there’s the remains of a medieval fulling mill there and so I’ve always wondered whether it was called Sour Milk because of all the stuff (dung/urine) they would’ve used at the mill. Sorry it’s an absolutely pointless and abstract musing, I just love the etymology of place names. 😳
I enjoy watching itchy boots who motorcycles in Africa etc but I equally love watching your hikes. The silence and stillness are majestic. You are such a nice person and your narration is so comforting. Thankyou for making these essential videos. (My only silly suggestion is I think you deserve a more theatrical hat. A tweed cap or a tricorne hat or an Outlander hat.)
I think you're ace and I really love your videos. I heard you say that you aren't a God fearing man and it got my attention. If you like to listen to really interesting stuff whilst hiking, please check out The Good Fight Ministries "They sold their souls for rock and roll". God bless you xx
Thanks for watching, folks. If you liked this why not consider joining my AWESOME growing community

Grasmere is my favourite place on Earth. Seeing these walks makes me realise how much I miss the Lake District.
Your videos are so relaxing, perfect preparation for the coming week 😊

Thanks!
Thank you very much, that's greatly appreciated 😊 🙏
The best trek I have seen. 👍 so much beauty. It wouldn't be you if you didn't waffle. 😂
Creativity is inborn and it won't leave you : ever 😊

Magical! Thanks for sharing that story with us. AS IF... you needed to make a decision to have a pint or not LOL Enjoy.. you earn each one!!
That bit about the creative days/non-creative days really resonated with me. I tend to beat myself up about it a lot. It's nice to know I'm not alone. ❤️

Brilliant video as always Glenn, certainly was an Interesting weather day. Cheers for sharing as always, Dave 😀⛰🥾🏴
I subscribe because I really enjoy your videos, and I enjoy the waffling 😂🤘
Taking Mrs I up the Langdale Pikes at the end of October
Looking forward to that beer as much as you.

Another very relaxing day out

I'll always remember passing you on the way up to your last dramatic visit to Blea Rigg on Stickle Ghyll and having a chat👍
That's a tricky spot, must catch loads of people! 😂 I remember you, were you wearing Salewa boots?

Love joining you on your walks can’t do it now so walking with you is next best thing
Did that very route a few months back - High Raise to Tarn Crag, what a horrible trudge that was 😣
Stunning video, I was surprised at the weather this time of year. But, I hear that other than June you Brits had a pretty damp summer. Thanks.
Great vid! When I find myself back in the UK it would be a pleasure to buy you a pint.
Great route (duly noted)! More quotes from Wainwright himself please 😀 Genuinely look forward to your films 👍
Exactly what i needed to see after a 12hr shift Some great outdoors 🏞 👍🙌
1st comment - and thanks for more excellent escapism!!!!
Great walk, me and me dad watched your mishap on there, we were wetting ourselfs😂, sorry at your expense🙏👍

Great to see you out, but I hope you're not forcing that Achille's?
Another thoroughly enjoyable video, just one question , why wear shorts in tick country ?
Lovely! What was the app you showed the mountain route on? :)

Can i ask where you park to get to Easedale Tarn?
Where was the beginning of this walk at the beginning of this video ? I've been to grasmere many times but have never seen this walk before.
You forgot to tell us what whisky you had! Glenlivet? 😂
🏹
Hi, please can I ask which mapping you use at the start of your vids, and if they are copyright free? Thinking they would look nice in my MTB vids. Cheers 👍
Love the videos, the scenery is breath takeing. How about turning your photos to NFTs.

There should be a support group for walkers molested by bracken 😂
5:25 looks like the spot that @wildbeare stopped at for a video!
Where's the doggie?
Highway to the Danger Zone (be happy you didn't actually hear me sing that).
