Full coverage of the race 2 round of the men's star sailing event at the Weymouth & Portlands venue as part of the London 2012 Olympic Games,
Sailing was first contested as an Olympic sport at the 1900 Paris Games. Since then, the classes of boats allowed to compete have continually evolved to reflect advances in yacht design and technology. Equipment advances over the past 20 years have created a trend towards smaller and lighter craft, placing ever greater demands on both the athletic and technical capacities of the sailors.

@@johnsawtell-rickson3957 Drowned during the 2013 Americas Cup when one of the boats capsized. He got caught under the trampoline and could not get out. This event caused many changes in the level of safety required to set foot on one of the americas cup boats

The Starboat is the Stradivari of all classes. Very sensitive to the trim, very elegant and very hard to sail. To win a gold star, is still one of the toughest challenges in sailing.
There is more "Sailing" with these boats than there is in the Prada and America's cup! The AC-75's are very fast but to me it's not "sailing" , it's "Foiling"! "Sailing" and "Foiling" are totally different and even though the 75's are ALOT faster for me I prefer the old fashioned "Seamanship" of "Sailing"! mea sententia 🦂
I’m a sailor and Fundamentalist but you don’t get enough credit toward the AC 75 can do and is and will do down the line read my word

What do the crews hike so weird
To get maximum leverage for the maximum amount of time.
They hike as counterbalance and sit on the side of the hull because they are heavy and out of shape.
