@@TheWanderingHartz unfortunately, yes. Some people just chuck everything in randomly and then claim that there’s no more space. After moving so many times in the last few years, I’ve become quite good at filling every nook and cranny. 😂
I am moving a studio apartment. I only have two large items, a tv stand and my 6 ft sofa. Everything else can come apart. I am also using IKEA DIMPA bags for clothes and soft items. I think this container will work (Hopefully). I don't want to get a second one and I already gave away and tossed many things.
UHaul website states "When in doubt get extra - we won't charge you if you don't use it." so definitely call/email and ask about that in case that helps!

Yes, I am working on a more thorough review, but the short answer is it worked great. We had no issues with moisture or any damage. We packed everything, very well which helps. They transport them upright like you saw at the end of the video as it was loaded onto the truck. The boxes seem to stay pretty level (except perhaps up a hill on the journey).
Hey, We are planning to rent these U-Box for our cross country move. U-Haul says, these boxes can be loaded upto 2000lbs. is there a trick you had while loading these boxes to ensure we are not exceeding the weight limits of each U-Box? second question : does U-Haul offers real time gps tracking of the box? Thank in advance for reply.
Good luck on your move! I just guessed at how much stuff weighed to be honest. They are each basicly 5'x8' so your not too likely to overload them. As for the real time GPS tracking... they did not when we moved 2 years ago, we did not have any issues and were notified when it arrived and ready to schedule the final delivery. If I remember correctly it was about 10 or 12 days for it to arrive from TN to WA. I hope that helps!

Hi Elma, We were charged a fee to pick up and then the local Uhaul in our new state charged us a separate drop off fee. It was about $25 more than the pick up and I think had to do with the trailer they brought it on. It was about $100 to drop/pick up the box and $125 to drop/pick up empty box and trailer. We had just the one box, so I dont know if there are additional fees for multiple boxes.
Our costs at the end of 2019 were $1600. BUT it has gone way up since the pandemic. Last I checked it would cost us over $2400 for the same move across conty with pick up and delivery of the UBox. I have been trying to find time to do a wrap up video about our experience. I was very happy overall, but the cost is prohibitive for us at current rates. You mileage may vary. Thanks for watching.

For a small container which is larger than the uhaul ubox I was quoted an exact price of $2680 for the entire move from start to finish. That is assuming I have the container for 30 days or less, which isn't an issues for me.
