That dually swap came out looking pretty sweet Sam! It’s nice seeing the 04 getting some attention and love. Definitely a ripper and looking forward to seeing it do some heavy towing in the future.
On my rear springs I took out 2 of those small spacers on the bottom and moved them to the top of the leaf pack. By doing so it lowered the back without having to change anything else. A Riv-nut kit is one of the must haves for any shop. In some cases nothing else could do the job.
The flares look awesome, much better than a regular dually bed. Disconnecting the sway bar links will allow the axle to drop a little bit more. It helps a lot when working alone.
A single wheel 3500 is not a 1 ton. It is a joke. Only duallies are a true 1 ton. I have 2 07 duallies and I've wondered about these mega cab dually flares and how they fit. I like the reduced blind spot
I put a flat bed & duals on my 04 F250. Towing is super stable, added overload bags. Still need to change the front wheels to offset hubs & it needs a front leveling kit.
I recently found your channel and i cant stop watching your content and this dually conversion is like my drug watching diy stuff like this is so awesome anything that has to do with custom builds are just awesome and its got me literally looking into youtube for more why i dont know i already have a dually and now i want a long bed to make into a dually
Nice job! I turned a chevy 2500 into a dually with a bolt on wheel assembly and bolt on flares. Worked well, but in the long run it robbed some power and miles from it.
I have the 2007 Dodge 3500 4x4 SRW mega cab, short bed. Wanting to swap my bed for the CM flatbed. Do I need to swap out my rear axle for a dually axle? Or can I run dual wheels on a single wheel axle ?
The bolts for the spring pack, what size and length did you get? Would grade 8’s work for all four? Going to do this swap in a couple days. Have the same shims you got. Some guys say just get G8 bolts and do it. Did you get new U bolts as well?
So the truck is 4x4 and the dually axle is from a 2 wheel drive truck and that’s the only reason you used the Shims? If you got a 4x4 dually rear end would you still have to do the shims? Or would it be a straight swap?
Open differentials should be obsolete by now with the advent of limited slip differentials and lockers all cars should come standard with some kind of limited slip differential device.
Right now I’ve got a 02 Pontiac vibe and I’m planning on selling it in a few months. Looking at the 07 Rams but I can’t find any decent 2500 or 3500 that are reasonably priced and in decent condition. Found a long bed 07 1500 and was wondering if it’s possible to convert it to a dually? I plan on actually getting a dually later on but I’m just curious if it’s worth trying to covert a 1500 to a dually or not.
Just wondering... would swapping the entire bed work? That way if come time to sell you can put it back... (to door sticker stock)? And yea, it does look good. Might do the same to my 03 3500 srw.
That is an awesome job i have a 2012 .4th jen 3500 SRW and am won'ting to convert to DRW but hear in NW FLORIDA it's impossible to find parts for this conversion I'll keep looking awesome videos i have followed you for years keep them coming God bless you and stay safe out there 🙋♂️ 🇬🇧
Does this significantly upgrade your payload capacity in real world? Unofficially I have a 2500 I want to do this to be able to put a chipper box on my 2500
I’d really like to pick your brain some on this. I am going to watch the videos start to finish and take notes. Wanting to convert my 06 mega regular wheel to a dually. I’m just wondering what’s the major difference in the 2500 single rear and a 3500 dual rear.
forgive me for my ignorance, but don't you have a pile of dually dodges already? always thought a single wheel 3500 was unique. also cool video, thanks.
I think ram 🐏 should have put those fenders on the new trucks 🚚. The old 70s ram 🐏 trucks had small rear dually rear fenders. Reminds me of the old days. She is looking good 👍. Keep up the great work.
Hey, I had another question for you how many of these 24 valve 53 blocks do you have and have you had any trouble with them? I just picked one up with my Manuel five speed envy 4500 only has 120,000 miles on it and I don’t see any cracks or any problems with it at all and it ran greatwould be to swap it into anything what do you know about these three blocks? Let me know you’re the man when it comes to this kind of enlighten me
Just got confirmation my 40ft fmax 216 will be at dealer this Friday and I can pickup on Monday! Thx for all your content. Def helped me pick my final product!! I ordered in march it’s been a long wait but the time has come. So hype.
Hey man, really nice work. Really enjoy your videos. I've been thinking of doing a dually upgrade on an 2500, '18 srw, 4x4. Do you have a link to that wedge system? and or any other tips? I'd love to find a place where I could validate that my plan is feasible. Thanks for the informational content.
I have always owned 3500 Dodge 4x4 since 91, but single rear tires. I pull heavy with my 04.5 and wouldn’t want duals ever. If I found a nice dually I would definitely take it to single rear. In snow they plain suck, when you need tires you spend a lot more, in mud they suck, at drive up windows they suck, the plus’s are definitely not worth it to me. I pull a 24,000 GVW gooseneck and run 35’s. On my 91 if I still had it I would remove springs and install airbags. It rode awful but I real liked that truck. I really never liked the look but different strokes for different folks.
That is cool! I thought you would test it with a bigger trailer though (kidding). What year is the truck? I like that it has a custom look. I like the wheels black and plain. My truck has the same wheels. I have a silver 01 3500 dually extended cab.
I liked the first generation of the 6.7 powerstroke duallies cause their fenders weren’t as huge as the ram or GM/Chevy fenders. The mega cab flairs this are way better.
Change the gauge lights to white leds from super bright leds, and it will change the green to blue. I found it to be easier on the eyes especially at night.
I have 2014 ram 3500 single rear wheel is it possible and safe to do a dually conversion on. I can buy a kit online. Are the rear ends the same for a single rear wheel and a Dually????
Gotta agree. Flares look great. I agree also, the dually flares do make the truck look fat. Whereas yours looks lean and mean. I think CP Steve Miller's is the same. Lean and mean as compared to fat and well.... just fat. I liked the dually flares on the 90's Dodge D350's. They told you something big and nasty was coming. Glad to see tradition lives on.
Very well done, how to video! Sorry, gonna ding you now, Lol. I will ask you this....how often do you change rear axle oil? How long have you owned the truck? My point is, you should have known the axle was an open diff by now. On my '21 Ram 2500, (AAM axle) the book recommends oil changes every 20k if you tow. On my older Dana equipped Dodges I change every 36k with 85w/140. I changed my new truck at 700 miles from the 85w to 75w/140, not going to tow with water weight oil.
Whoever thumbs down this video wish they can dually swap their Prius 😂
The mega cab flares are money. I love how that turned out.
That dually swap came out looking pretty sweet Sam! It’s nice seeing the 04 getting some attention and love. Definitely a ripper and looking forward to seeing it do some heavy towing in the future.
That thang look fancy now!! I never thought about the difference in dually flares until this video, and those mega cab dually ones look so much better
Right! Way cleaner look glad I held out for mega flares
Great job, but man the front wheel fitment needs some help. Spacers, new wheels, or pop the flares off.
Definitely have to agree with you. Rear end looks amazing....I’d either keep the front flares and add spacers or rip the front flares off completely!!
Have always been a fan of the Mega Cab flares vs the regular super poofy dually bedsides. Looks good Sam!
On my rear springs I took out 2 of those small spacers on the bottom and moved them to the top of the leaf pack. By doing so it lowered the back without having to change anything else.
A Riv-nut kit is one of the must haves for any shop. In some cases nothing else could do the job.

Definitely needs that 2" spacer up front to be complete! Other than that it's perfect!
Agreed. I was going to put them on but never got around to it. I’ll try Them out sometime soon
Was thinking the exact same thing. Other than that. It looks great.
I put a flat bed & duals on my 04 F250. Towing is super stable, added overload bags. Still need to change the front wheels to offset hubs & it needs a front leveling kit.

Awesome work you two 💪🏻👍🏻 she looks so much better !
I have to get me the same spring compressor 🧐👌🏻
What is the difference between your 04 dodge and your 2022 dodge is it the same
New truck is about double of this truck all around. Not really a comparison
Looks awesome! I had always liked those dually flares much more.
Ya boyyyyyyy
Arent the dually Axle and the single wheel Axle the same other then the wheel spacers?
Hubs are different and the axle tubes are different lengths.
Man this is making me want to dually swap my 04, only problem is it's a 2500 so I'd feel like a poser. Hahaha
Why didn’t you just swap the whole bed? They weee both white
..
Because this is a long bed. First bed is a short bed.
Nice job! I turned a chevy 2500 into a dually with a bolt on wheel assembly and bolt on flares. Worked well, but in the long run it robbed some power and miles from it.
I don’t know why you need ANOTHER dually, but she does look really good!! 👍🏻
You should get another right side fender flare for the left side so you can get rid on that gas door dent in the flare
I have the 2007 Dodge 3500 4x4 SRW mega cab, short bed. Wanting to swap my bed for the CM flatbed. Do I need to swap out my rear axle for a dually axle? Or can I run dual wheels on a single wheel axle ?
So now you can carry more weight but less scale weight! This is the backroad truck hehe!!!! Same out here in ny dot is a bia*ch
The bolts for the spring pack, what size and length did you get? Would grade 8’s work for all four? Going to do this swap in a couple days. Have the same shims you got. Some guys say just get G8 bolts and do it. Did you get new U bolts as well?
Nice, my 92 has a rear end that just went, it a 2x4 and was thinking of swapping it to a dual. Would another 2x4 dual just bolt up ?
So the truck is 4x4 and the dually axle is from a 2 wheel drive truck and that’s the only reason you used the Shims? If you got a 4x4 dually rear end would you still have to do the shims? Or would it be a straight swap?
Mega cab flare are the way to go. Those front tires, though, just don’t look right with the front fender flares. Too skinny. Just my opinion, though…
Open differentials should be obsolete by now with the advent of limited slip differentials and lockers all cars should come standard with some kind of limited slip differential device.
I know you're getting alot of questions, but I'm trying to learn, why didn't you just put adaptors..
I have a 4th gen 3500 drw that I want to swap to a srw. But I’m not sure if I’d need to get a srw axle for it to work or not. Any information on that?
25:30... Bro, downsize your trailer. I don't think the ol girl can handle it.
I have a 2011 dually that i want to convert to a single . Anyone interested to do a trade swap hit me up
Heck yeah Sam. I like it 💪🏻💪🏻👊
I used to see the gray truck that bed came off of all the time at the track in Lakeport small world lol
What a improvement. The stance is perfect IMO. Well done.
Definitely need to get rid of those ugly ass headlights and fix the gas door indent on the driver dually fender.
Get enough trucks and you wont have to unhook your trailers anymore.

I don’t think it’s worth converting a 1500
I’d put your single wheel fronts back on. I like when they put single wheel front on a dually makes them look fat and tough in the front also
Mega cab flares look so much better than 3rd gen flares
I was skeptical but it turned out tits. Awesome job
Just wondering... would swapping the entire bed work? That way if come time to sell you can put it back... (to door sticker stock)? And yea, it does look good. Might do the same to my 03 3500 srw.
Yeah if you had another bed yeah simple swap. I just did this for Fun. Not worried about the door sticker

Does this significantly upgrade your payload capacity in real world? Unofficially
I have a 2500 I want to do this to be able to put a chipper box on my 2500
More tires on the ground raises rating. But if you really wanted pay load you’d need a 5500’truck. 3500 doesn’t give you much
I’m surprised you have not put a Lift in your shop

My 2020 4500 Ram chassis cab turns 2100 rpm at 70 too. I thought the chassis cab had 4.44 gears.. different tranny gearing?
Yeah different trans ratio
How much was your new dumper? I just got quoted 25k Canadian pesos for a 16’ triaxle gooseneck
Well done, looks awesome 😎 thanks for sharing Sam👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
Thanks Ken! Hey I forgot did you get a new bed for your 7.3?
Still looking, found a lot of junk and a lot of long beds and ext.cab beds. Mine is an 02 crew cab short bed. Let me know if you find on.
still doesn't legally change your factory tagged gvwr/cgvwr hauling and towing capacity from how it came tagged from the factory.
Not worried about that one bit

I can’t seem to find the bumper video. What was the company again? The rear bumper.
Same as front. Reunel

So I want to swap my single wheel mega cab to a dually what do you recommend? Swapping the rear end or just added spacers?
Do it right and get the correct rear end
If you decide to paint the truck, wallys fenders I think has the mega cab flairs with out the gas cut out. $900 for the pair.
Just found your channel and it’s great love the dodges diesel actually looking for 1 myself
Bout time for that haircut delete 😂 sambo

U need to hook up the side markers as well
Check McMaster carr for rivenuts. They have every size, also they typically deliver next day.. nice video, truck looks badass.
It’s something how the mega cab fenders look like shit on a short box but on a long box 👌🏼
Mega cab flares definitely hit the spot on that truck. I smell a new dump trailer hauler in this truck
Wipe off the rear quarter panels on the bed before bolting on the dusky fenders.
I cleaned the bed sides before final install
How about that rain last weekend?
Not 2nd 3rd forth hey buddy

Looks good, turn in them steering stops. To bad you couldn’t find a fender without the fuel cap “dent”.
Looks good is the regularly dually flares steel on the 3gen or plastic I know on a 4gen dually flares are steel
Shoot I'm trying to get to 1000
I wanted to dually swap my 2020 short bed and thought of using the old style fender flares
I really wish i had this this guys energy.
Me too. I have to find motivation to to an oil change lol
@@mwilliamshs interesting. I wonder how youd feel after a good back injury and 20 years of pain killers. Get back to me.

All that work to pull that little trailer. 😊 i do drive fords. The v10s.

Need to wire up fender light's
The front tires gotta be pushed out a little. It would look much better.
Nice! I also have a 3rd gen 3500 SRW but short bed. I plan to do the same.
ALWAYS preferred the mega cab flares! Much cleaner look. No need for the whole bedside to be flared out. The first gen flares were mint also
Really cool. Wonder if the 2500 has the same rear-end as the 3500?
Front end looks odd. Did you put the front dully hubs on it? A standard front wheel would look better. But then again it is awesome. Good work.
