I have the Canon M50 and it has clean HDMI output. You just need to configure it via the menus. I use this feature all the time. I use an ATEM switcher with 5 cameras and two of them are the M50 and I use the HDMI clean out to record all my RUclips footage. Using it this way also means the camera doesn’t turn off like it will when recording to the SD card.
Just sold my 6D and bought a used M50 with $150 left. Crazy how this is considered a "beginner camera" nowadays... Coming from the 6D, the M50 is so much more advanced. 99 vs 11 autofocus points, focus tracking vs none, 10fps vs 4.5fps continuous shooting, touch screen vs no touch screen, fully articulated vs fixed screen....not to mention better video in every aspect lol
Uh, the problem you mentioned at 4:00 in goes away by preasing the info button and changing the icons to empty in settings. So you really could film, you just have to confirm the settings before blanking the screen.
And here I love the EF-M mount cameras. My M50 is a workhorse for photography and videos especially with vintage glass. Granted Canon glass is great too, especially the 18-150mm, 22mm and 32mm lenses. Aftermarket lenses are spectacular as well, in particular the Sigma 16/1.4, which is so damned clean and sharp. Lastly the Meike EF adapter w/ built in ND filter AND Viltrox EF to EF-M Speed Booster is the icing on the cake.
i been using m50 for 3 years..all i can say its been a pleasure..i did many things with it such as wedding videos, wedding photos, shooting music video & events..it's bad in lowlight bad pairing with a good lens you will get a superb output
Nice video! This is very imformative. I'm planning to buy my first camera so I'm actually torn between buying the canon m50 or the nikon d3500. Which do you think is the better one?
Don’t buy either of those. EF-M mount is redundant and abandoned by Canon. D3500 is terrible for video. If you’re interested only in photography, get a used DSLR with some good lenses (Nikon D7xxx, Canon 80D/90D series would be good picks) and save money. If video is your main priority, check other mirrorless cameras in the budget range of M50 (assuming that’s your budget). Just my opinion, I own an M50 and I feel stuck with it. I don’t like the video output from kit lenses on offer as well.
In my opinion, this camera will be more than enough for 90% of most people. Now for the other 10% Wich includes all photographer and other pros and like the r series, for birding I would go for the r7, for wedding or portraits, the r5, r5 ii, or r6, r6 ii, for sports and news people I would recomended the r3 or the r1.
looking for a camera to record soccer matches, and sometimes 1on1 interviews, all video format and to upload to RUclips, not sure to go with this one...
i was just about to purchase this camera until I came across this video. What camera would you recommend a step above this one that will do great auto focus on 4k still within the same budget/price line?
I totally disagree that 1080p is “working its way out.” 1080 remains a more than perfectly acceptable standard, and it takes up FAR less space on your drives. Many content creators have stuck with 1080 as the difference between it and 4k is often imperceptible to the human eye.
@@TimothyRoss-o3y Wrong. I watch and upload 4K all the time since years ago. I even watched an 8K video on YT just yesterday. Could be your browser. On Safari 1080, Chrome I have up to the 8K option.

I am reasoning to buy m50 because of the video. And you just gave me more hope😁
this is my exact situation lol, 6d to m50 im about to make the buy
What about the image quality, are you happy with that? Of course it depends on the lenses but...
I just decided to grab M50 MKII after using 7d MKI forever. Lol. I’m just happy to have Wi-Fi capabilities…everything else is icing on top.
The m50 video quality cant be compared to 6D
I’ve had the m50 for YEARS. I adore it.

The speed booster is overrated. It absolutely destroys image quality.

Bad pairing with a good lens makes zero sense
What lens do use with M50?
@@unbroken1010 its typo..try to say 'but pairing'
@@FotoKuyy im using viltrox 23mm f1.4

What’s a modern new equivalent for size, features with new technology?

It’s a Smallrig Mini Follow Focus :)
does mount mount adapter impact the image quality??? And can you suggest me what is best lens for m50 mark2 particularly for photography
Can I transfer photos without PC?
This is the only camera I can afford to use with my DJI Ronin SC. I will be buying at the end of this month. What are your thoughts?

Thanks, will do!
Do you know if these are still issues with the mark 2 version?
What issue?

Canon M50 mark2 is good for photography??
thank you for great review of canon m50 camera.
Glad it was helpful!
Can lenses fix the 4K auto focus problem?
Sadly they can’t, it’s part of the limitation’s of the camera itself.
What about 250D ?
Hi, im a beginner in photography. Video wise, what do you think of this canon m50 compared to Iphone 15?
Im planning to start my short videos content
I always enjoy your videos!
Thank you for the support!
Keep it up man!
Thank you so much!
Canon just stated there will be more M cameras and lenses, and it will sit below R ecosystem...
I js saw this on a yotube shirt this saved me , I was supposed to use this camera to live stream an event . Thank you so much
I watched a video saying that you can still use this camera as a clean hdmi out without the software , there just won’t be autofocus . Is that true v
I have canon m50 II twice my honnest review is weak shutter machine so i go to 6d mark ii
Thank you for making this video and admitting that some of your takeaways maybe opinions.
i was just about to purchase this camera until I came across this video. What camera would you recommend a step above this one that will do great auto focus on 4k still within the same budget/price line?
If your looking for a dslr This would be the only one within the budget , Sony digital like the zh 1f can record in great 4k video
Why would you not run manual focus if you’re a creative?
Pls make a video about the Nikon 1 j1
I’ve been looking into them recently, stay tuned! 🙂
maybe the mark ii is better then the mark i in all these problems
I tried to install webcam utility but it doesnt seem to work on window 11?
I'll trust my M50 over somebody with pink lights.
BRUHH 🤣🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭
I’ll show you
then you have horrible decision making skills

majority of viewers also don't have 4k capable devices. A huge chunk actually just watch on their tiny phone screens.
Agree plus RUclips only plays a video in 1080 anyway

I got the M50 and I’m thinking about go to Sony.
Which Sony camera are you considering?
Go to sony A6400 or 6500 but if you on budget i wil go to 6300
Try Nikon. Sony APSC ergonomics are the worst by far. Even Sony FF are not good. Canon and Nikon are the best from ergonomics and usability
@@fraktor564 I agree, the a6400 is one of the best price to performance cameras!
Canon and Nikon definitely have better ergonomics than Sony cameras, but Sony full frame models feel really good in the hand!
I found this came 20$😂
it's definitely not under $500
No autofocus at 4K. Seems like iPhone 14 would be better/as good.
It’s 100% getting close. Although in many situations the M50 will still take much better looking video and photos.
