A couple of weeks ago I won an auction for a Blackmagic Ursa Mini Pro G2. I was looking for a B4 mount and that listing came up. When I checked under "ursa mini" in the search, it didn't come up. There was only one other bid but I won it at the end. I ended up paying $2200 USD for it and it included a B4 mount on top of that! The bonus was that the camera was listed as "open box" and after messaging the seller, he told me he had closed his camera store an this camera had been on display in his store and never even turned on! I also got the Davinici Resolve Studio license and full warranty. Crazy.
If it's listed under a different model, it's likely because it was stolen. People use this tactic to sell stolen gear and prevent their listings from appearing in eBay searches conducted by law enforcement looking for stolen items.
I’m not a proponent of stealing but if someone is selling something for cheap I’m not asking any questions. Besides I’ve bought thousands of dollars of equipment from people because either their ex left it at their home for months, family member passed, or they were a landlord and the person they evicted never came back for their stuff. They never know if it works so they sell it for cheap. I’ve worked at an apartment complex and it’s crazy the stuff people leave behind. I got a sound board once. It’s not frequent but it’s common.
Definitely stolen goods. I remember when these came out, they were not popular, totally overpriced and other camera options were out there. The problem is buying something that has a sketchy history you can still be done for possession of stolen goods.
Maybe, but at 12 years old with only 300-odd hours and in near pristine condition, I think it’s more likely to have sat in a closet unused somewhere for the past decade and was inherited by someone who didn’t know anything about cameras.
