I am firm believer that one must stop consuming the damaging foods that are causing the problem(s) in the first place like sugar, seed oils and processed foods. Yes Mag Threonate is quite effective in helping my short term memory. Been on a mag 3 supplement for three years. There are other neurotrophic compounds but mag 3 works well and quickly.

Seems like diarrhea and nausea are common side effects. WHY not mention this or didn't it cross their minds or blood-brain barrier? Magnesium Glycinate doesn't cause this but of course, it won't help much cognitively.

I’ve had much trouble sleeping for the last few decades - like 2-5 hours/night (usually 3-4). I tried magnesium - probably citrate - a year or two ago and got nothing - not even side effects. As soon as I watched this video I ordered some Magtein. I started taking it on Nov. 22, and after one month my sleep had increased to 7-9 hours sleep, or more, if I was able to stay in bed long enough! I’m blown away by the improvement. Within two weeks, I heard (I think from Dr. Andrew Huberman) that people who wake up and can’t go back to sleep should also take Apigenin, a derivative of chamomile, so I ordered it as well. These two supplements are life-changing for me! Thank you for this report and research!

So, it's gone from being an "excellent" to being a "thorough" interview; but still without providing the all-important link they describe in the video in the video that would support either of your unsubstantiated claims. @@VishalRaoOnRUclips Let's put that aside; here is where I am coming from: I have studied and researched the various claims about Magnesium Threonate's ability to cross the brain's blood barrier and thus enhance the health and working of the brain and - keeping it simple - none of them support the claims that have or are being made - except in the case where mice ( not humans) were experimentally used and even that was very scant. I am a long-time user of Magnesium Glycinate and have greatly benefitted from it and its benefits have been fully and properly researched and published. I had been taking magnesium glycinate prior to discovering magnesium glycinate, as I have osteoporosis and added magnesium to my regimen to boost my chances of improving my bone density. I was not sure if I should continue taking magnesium glycinate with L theonate, so I continued taking both at different times of the day (Glycinate early in the day and L thereonate at night. Now that I know that L thereonate also provides many of the other benefits that other forms of magnesium provide in terms of bone strength , I will now reduce the dose of magnesium Glycinate.
In-keeping with what was said in this presentation about L Thereonate and its contribution to sleep, I also found no evidence that I was able to fall asleep much quicker, but I did notice that I was mentally alert on waking and throughout the day, even when I did not sleep very well.

      Yes. Agreed.
Mg salts, then Mg flakes (a bit more concentrated) then Mg Oil (strongest concentration) also very useful for those who don’t have a bath to soak in. But use a shower. Can apply it locally.
I read a report many years ago about a Professor of Biology in Birmingham University UK.
Did a study of a large sample group. He measured their Mg levels, then said take a bath in 100L of water with a 20% solution of Mg salts. For 20 minutes every day for 7 days. Then return to be measured again.
He found that the whole group on average had improved Mg levels by appx. 33%.
Which is massive. Especially when compared to supplements or food. Which offer either fractions of a percentage point (trace amounts) or maybe 1-2% at best.
Ergo: the skin being our biggest gland offers the most efficient way of getting Mg into the body.
      May the Force
      be with you.🌀

Hi, Bonnie. One of the positive effects that are immediate is better sleep onset and duration. If taken with L-Theanine, GABA receptors and GABA levels are both increased adding to better relaxation and better quality sleep. The lag of recognizable benefits may also be due to upregulating of the benefits when we start in a deficient state. You may want to have your Mg levels checked, since you are taking two types of bioavailable Mg (Glycinate and Threonate). Both are great, but you may want to alternate between them to prevent too much serum Mg. Best to you.

I have used several forms of magnesium over the years. They each have their benefits. I have had the best luck taking several forms. For leg cramps that wake me in the night with terrible calf, foot, or leg cramps that nothing but a walk would relieve, rubbing pure magnesium oil into that foot and leg provides immediate relief so I can return to sleep. The only reason I am considering taking magnesium L-threonate is that the few magnesium complex capsules I have found with at least 7 forms do not also contain L-threonate and it apparently, with current research, affects the brain. So I will be taking the multicomplex and one tab of L-threonate.

Potential Benefits of Taking Multiple Forms
Combining different forms of magnesium can provide a more comprehensive and balanced nutrient profile. Each form has its own unique characteristics, and using a combination can help ensure you are meeting your specific magnesium needs. For example, someone experiencing constipation may benefit from the use of magnesium oxide alongside a more well-absorbed form like magnesium citrate or glycinate.
Furthermore, taking multiple forms of magnesium can offer a wider range of health benefits. Magnesium oxide, known for its high elemental magnesium content, can support bone health and aid in maintaining normal blood pressure levels. On the other hand, magnesium citrate is often used for its gentle laxative effect and can help promote regular bowel movements.
Additionally, combining different forms of magnesium can enhance the overall absorption and utilization of this essential mineral in the body. While some forms may have better absorption rates, others may provide a sustained release of magnesium over a longer period of time. By incorporating various forms, you can optimize the bioavailability and efficacy of magnesium supplementation.

Interesting that LifeExtension's Magtein product contains too many extra additives. I found two brands out there that had rice flour. I'd rather they had no additives but if I can't find 0 additives, then I'll go with the 1 and rice flour is something I can say and recognize as simple compared to all the other additives. So Magtein has been around for a while and the last research I did was that Oxide was the best, now this comes out and says the L-Threonate is better? I hope they are not just pushing their brand. I will go with the other brand that has less ingredients that LifeExtension that has Other ingredients: vegetable cellulose (capsule), microcrystalline cellulose, stearic acid, silica, vegetable stearate. If I have to look them up to see what they are, I don't want them in my foods.

Magnesium in food varies depending on soil where it grows, and intense monoculture tends to deplete soils from beneficial minerals. For fruit trees most of the time if I do not apply a spectrum of trace minerals foliar and in ground right when the fruits are all removed, the next year the tree can decide not to grow any fruit (common known problem). While with minerals, the tree will produce fruits the year after, without fault. In plants almost each mineral excess or deficiency can be visually found either on leaves or on flowers or on fruits, also a mineral imbalance, excess, or deficiency lead to more attacks from illnesses and pests. Proper regenerative agriculture where you can find worms in soil lead to stronger plants, resilient to attacks. Magnesium atom is at the center of chlorophyll molecule and chlorophyll contains 2,7% in mass of magnesium. (the molecule that makes the green tint and helps photosynthesis) If soils lack magnesium, people get sick. Magnesium can be missing for various reasons : depleted by wrong agriculture, pollution, or natural deficiency, the natural concentration in soil is variable from start. Soil food web insure proper bioavailability and mechanical distribution of magnesium in soil. If biodiversity is killed by products, everything falls apart, not the first year, but further down. Using a spectrum of minerals as foliar and in ground is okay in organic agriculture. (the % are extremely low = trace amounts are enough).

Magnesium glycinste is best for body and threonate is best for brain because threonate Carrie’s the msgnesium crosses blood brain barrier helping neuroplasticity. Magnesium citrate - citrate can irritate GI distress. Magnesium oxide only 10 percent of magnesium is biodegradable . Take k2 and or omega 3 to carry calcium in blood to bones and teeth . If omega 3 and or Viit-K-2 the calcium stays in blood and not to bones . If you have high blood calcium it is a risk for high blood pressure/ strokes ( calcium especislly carbonate form stick to cholesterol plugs in micro fissures created in inner wall of the artery due to the fact that an artery has a muscle layer to contract and expand ( dialate ) artery vessel . These micro tears. A used by this expanding and contracting leaves a void . The body heals this by having cholesterol from dirt and or liver manufactured fill in void and 3 days later collagen forms then primary closure . If during the point of first 3 days the cholesterol is in void and circulating calcium carbonate and or too much calcium in blood due to not having omega 3 and or but K-2 present to carry the calcium to bone . Ever heard of calcium channel blockers taken for tjosecc CE with high blood pressure . People with high blood pressure can be out of shape and heart is not in condition or the arteries have plaque caused by cholesterol calcium complex and or hardening of arteries in which the artery doesn’t expand to send oxygenated blood to let’s say leg muscles for running . If artery doesn’t dilate to allow more blood to go to legs the diameter of artery stays the same and what has to happen to send the blood the legs needs to function - raise blood pressure - raise the force ofvthe blood thru arteries . If arteries expand in a healthy way the blood pressure doesn’t have to rise to a dangerous level . If it does it can knock off a plaque and whether enzymes dissolve the particle in time as it travels to smaller arteries then capillaries which are in brain mainly and if that particle doesn’t break up enough the cells in brain thst don’t get that oxygen the cells can die leaving a patient with a physical deficit from which those dells damaged served like being able to use your left side - legs - arms - side of face .
