Is it a matter of free will or fate that before long Warner Bros will destroy this video with a copyright claim?
A matter of money.
You know, that thing that has annihilated art in Hellywood and given us over 2 decades of the same old crap with a heavy does of political preaching.
And while I appreciate your effort, I have no plans to see this one..... this or any other attempt to milk old greats in order to avoid the use of of any Original Ideas that might come along.
Enough is enough.
That, Mr Ben, is the sound of inevitability
11:30 That's literally the plot of one episode of the Fringe series 👉
@@johnwolf2829 At least it's not a prequel. That's gotta count for something!
Ben, show your defiance to Warner Bros by hosting a massive underground rave in a cave.
"You've got the gift." You're the One.
"It looks like you're waiting for something." You're not quite ready; something's holding you back.
"Your next life, maybe." Death will release your gift.
You ate this 💯
I also like the "its like falling in love, know one can tell you you're in love, you just know it." line. Foreshadows him becoming the one later when Trinity tells him, "you can't be dead because I was told I would fall in the love with 'the one', and I love you."

@@MikeBlaze718 Trinity was in love with Neo from the beginning.
@@SiLvErWaRe000 the Oracle manipulated trinity into falling in love with him bc she knew he carried the prime code to restart the matrix.
@@MikeBlaze718 You're making that up. None of that was in the movie. All Trinity said is the Oracle said she'd fall in love, and the person she fell in love with would be The One. None of that guarantees she would fall in love with Neo. Your head cannon doesn't make something true. If it doesn't happen in the movie then it didn't happen.
You now realize that The Matrix did Inception before Inception itself.
What makes you curious is that this movie is about transgender expression. Where is the connection? I genuinely want to know, I don't mean to be transphobic

it is, like the garbage truck, you only notice if someone didn't do things right when they don't pick up the trash.
I always interpreted this as the Oracle telling Neo he WAS the one, but Neo (and most of the audience apparently) is misinterpreting it. She clearly says he has the gift, but appears to to waiting for something, i.e. he is the one, but his powers have not awaked yet.
I thought it was blatant obvious that he had to believe in himself to become The One, because being The One (self actualization) comes from within.
It was obvious she was saying he was the one, but had to die first. “You look like you are waiting for something”. “What?” “I don’t know the NEXT LIFE maybe”. Neo died then became the one in his next life…
When Agent Smith kills him he dies an his next life begins as the ONE
Well, he wasn't the one. After he died, what was resurrected ended up being the one or more precise the 6th.
Yes I took that literally.
She doesn't. He says "I'm not the one" and she replies "sorry, kid." She never actually says you are not the one.
yea but she also tells him , maybe in his next life and that it’s like he’s waiting for something
@@johnlennon5143 But that's in response to Neo saying he's not the one.
I really expected a video that focused on this conversation so much to at least point this out, but it didn't. She never said the words, she led him to say what he believed about himself.
It goes deeper. She does says "no one can tell you whether or not you are the one" definitively before intentionly making him think she implied that he wasn't.
@@jonathanschubert9052 I don't think that implies she didn't believe. It just means whatever Neo believes is the key.
“You’ve had 2 decades to not be spoiled”
Well put
Before I watch this video, i must point out that The Oracle never told Neo he's not the One. She let him say it. She already knew he was the One, but knew that he needed to "know himself" before he could behimself. The thing I like most about The Oracle is her ability to see chains of events and demonstrate far-sighted wisdom, and she's the absolute MASTER of cause and effect. She can seemingly cause to happen whatever she wishes. "Don't worry about the vase." He turned around and broke the vase. She showed Neo what she's capable of. Her obsolete predecessor from the Nightmare Matrix, The Merovingian program, is obsessed with cause and effect, but throughout the 2 movies, he never produces the effects he tries to cause. But the upgrade, The Oracle, never once fails to cause what she wishes to happen. (She's not clairvoyant. She's a master manipulator.)
Easy to see the future when you can cause it.
I think you’re right and wrong. He didn’t need to know it himself. He needed to believe it didn’t matter if he was the one or not. Once he let go of the pressure of everyone expecting him to be the one, it allowed him to live as if he was not the one, which leads to him dying and awakening to be the one. Another question is if he is just a program, why does he have powers in the real world too? Could be able to influence the bots in the real world through EMI or it could be that the real world is just the actual matrix and the matrix is just a mechanism to make humans think they’ve escaped the simulation.
I still like the theory that trinity was given something (like neo was giving the cookie to attract him to trinity). That code was then uploaded to neo when they kissed.
I've always thought of the Oracle and Laplace's demon in the matrix... she has the ability to see how everything is moving and make predications about how everything will play out as a result. They have additional conversations that add to this concept about Neo being the one in the second movie as well. They specifically talk about the concept of what a "choice" really is... they talk about how people have already made their choices and it is really more about understanding them. The merovingian also talks about the difference between free will/choice and causality in his little speech. What this all boils down to is that causality really does reign supreme and the "choices" people make were already pre-determined by the person's previous experiences, personality and so on. The architect also discussed how they had to create the current version of matrix by coming up with a system that caused the vast majority of people to choose to accept the matrix as is on some level so they would not try to escape.
Oracle and Morpheus are two parts of the same programm designed to make the Matrix stable by finding the most rebellious individual - the One, then making him submit to machines and use this data to reprogramm the next matrix, so less people are rebellious, and so on.
@@tedarcher9120 a Filterung process until everything is even and when that happens everything restarts huh
In order to have a choice, one must have the freedom to do so.
Neo wasn't the one because he believed he was. He needed to make the choice of having to be the hero. Heroes aren't made for the role, they rise to the role.
She told him he’s the one. Without telling him he’s the one. She said do you think you’re the one? Then she points to the sign that says know thyself. Meaning it’s up to him. To believe in himself. If he believes it then he is it. What’s he’s not understanding is the language barrier because now he’s talking to a program. But the interaction between them is in the computer in “human form” This is a tactic used in therapy. The therapist asks questions in a manner so that you figure out if you have a problem, then you innately know what the solution is. And the proof for this would be imagine that your friend is coming to you and asking you for advice on the problem that you have. What advice would you give to someone who is going through what you are going through. Then you’ll understand that you’ve had all the answers all along. Then with enough therapy you learn you’re not as bad as you thought. You actually learn and remember all the good things you’ve accomplished. And then you realize you’ve done far more good than bad. And when you learn that everyone makes damn near the same mistakes. It takes away the guilt.
The Oracle's apartment is more green than any other place seen in the Matrix.
Clairvoyance is just awareness of a recurring pattern, and as a program she is aware of human action patterns. She was verifying she had Neo's behavioral pattern.
I always felt that the concept of "The One" in Matrix and the Nerevarine in Morrowind were quite similar. Both were about the dichotomy between free-will/determinism, being/becoming and the question of fulfilling prophiecies. Just as the player had to do certain things in Morrowind in order to fulfill the prophecy and be considered a Nerevarine, Neo had to do his work in order to become the One. I prefer this reading as being the One isnt given to Neo upon his birth but something he attains through his actions, the help of Morpheus and the love for/from Trinity
Neo achieved CHIM and became The One. God Howard would be proud
As an avid elder scrolls, star wars and matrix fan u hit it in the nail but 1 thing i have to correct in each elder scrolls edition ypu always play a RPG of nirns "the One" in different eras for example the nerevarine for morrowind, hero of kvatch in oblivion, and the shezzarine in daggerfall, and the dragonborn in skyrim also the latest one in ESO (elder scrolls Online) the vestige of nirn so the concept happens more than once in universe of nirn

I always felt "the cookie" was how Neo got the information that he was "the one."
The only paradox is that we've evolved to function through an idea called free will that contradicts all evidence of causality, because it's necessarily that causality that brought us to this conundrum.
The only open question for me in the story of the Matrix is whether the Oracle actually has enough processing power to predict outcomes so far down the chain of events to the conclusion of the trilogy. I wonder what odds she was playing with.
The concept is clear at the end of the third movie. It was a gamble after seeing multiple paths. That's also why smith was able to have many copies after absorbing her power. Her predictive powers are much stronger closer to the present and are increasingly non-deterministic further into the future. I have always thought the writers were inspired by neutral network research
I like your thought process here I especially like the line about causality that if causality is true the thought of free will is what brought us to this problem of causality there's something very clever there. Play the only thought I have on the second paragraph you wrote is the scene where he's with the architect and all of the recordings that are on the screen behind him I mean how many times have they done this enough times that they can see a larger pattern emerge from from running the experiment from start to finish over and over and over and over Hanover in the Oracle knew every single path that would lead to another reset because they've done it so many times with the Oracle for some reason this time I think in her own uncertain way she dreamed up the idea that it wouldn't have to go down with the reset man I don't want to do this s*** again let's try something different so the ambiguity there I think is justified in every single character the Oracle didn't actually know if her plan would work for sure she just knew that it wasn't necessarily going to lead to a reset this particular path I had never been tried before and she wasn't sure if it was going to lead to a different outcome but she wanted a different outcome and you know this is the case because the architect seems to be genuinely irritated by the fact that the Oracle seems to operate under a different set of parameters that wasn't logical enough for him. Wow I just started off to compliment your comment and I ended up babbling into my phone you know I watched this movie in the theater when it came out all three of them actually waiting for the third one was really fun with my friends standing in line anticipation of the third one these are great movies no doubt but I don't even need to watch them anymore I mean I haven't watched The matrix in 8 years but I can Babylon about it pontificate on it like I just got done watching it with the coen Brothers themselves I mean my God the depth of the story I mean if it was a book it would weigh a thousand pounds and that's a compliment boys good job did yourself on this one I mean the only more epic movie ever will be the one we're making right now as a species for the aliens it's a long movie it's got everything in it including how we built the pyramids just watch the movie it was a good time Bill nose pyramids in fact I'd suggest starting this movie over so we could see how we did that but it's such a long movie I'm not sure they're going to be willing to start it over so unfortunately in an opposite of Spaceballs situation we will not get to go back and look at the DVD of the movie that we're making to figure out how we built the pyramids I do remember it being a good time though and we were on mushrooms or lotus or something that was making us trip balls I swear it was a good time we built a pyramid:-)
Free will means that you can choose no matter what. Even if you choose because of something, you still can choose despite it.
@ Hi there! So how does that definition of free will differ from determinism? And how is it that such a definition is more than an merely an idea?
@@NickCombs Because you can go against everything you know to choose something. If that wasn't true then people wouldn't be able to change their minds.
We cannot control what fate throws our way, but we can control how we meet that fate.
That’s why we have advanced advertisements and social media as a control system that tells us how to meet that fate. It’s clever and cunning.
If only that were true.
The anwser is simple. He wasn't the one. When he was asked. He became the one, once he took a bite of the offered cookie, intruducing the one's code. Just like the way the merovingian, the code was intruduced via food. She continued to update and manipulate Neo by offering candy and cookies when she saw him. It's likely how she knew about his dreams either she implanted it into his brain or like a tracer program she should read his code while in the matrix.
I really like this idea, a hell of a lot, actually. Except for the pitfall, which is that “orgasm food” wasn’t introduced in the first film, and the Matrix was written as a stand-alone movie.
Carrying it a bit further, if I were the Oracle, my cookie would have caused Neo to have an underwear-busting orgasm as well as updated his code to unlock The One, thereby encouraging a dopaminergic connection between being the one and the anticipation of a powerful reward.
It’s convenient, but unnecessary. Every person in the matrix is connected to the matrix and by extension available to the mother of the matrix
He became the one when he told Smith, "my name is Neo."
The movie and the theme made it clear..
"Know thyself"
"There's a big difference between knowing the path and walking the path"..
Neo was always the one..
His name is an anagram of one
"He has the gift but he's waiting for something ".
Its all pointing to him believing in who he is..
"I can show you the door but you must walking through"..
Neo must choose to accept the role of the one..like how ppl in the matrix accepted the matrix code..he gets the choice like everyone else.
Keep in mind, it's a little ironic that while we surf the web (this matrix), cookies are left in our phones and computers that are used for tracking things like our interests, things we search for, and probably more personal info, and so each website we visit where we accept cookies, we are accepting info or pieces of data onto our HD, in a similar way to how the Oracle herself (a program) deposited code into Neo as he accepted and ate her cookies. I would imagine it was partly her way of tracking him but also a way of giving her a piece of herself (her own coding). After all, I believe I remember her saying that she bakes love into her cookies. And as of Neo's encounter with the Architect, love (his relationship with Trinity) and freedom of choice is why he rebelled against the Architects plan, as did the Oracle.
Brilliant video 👏 ❤
Neo wasn’t the one when the oracle asked because he didn’t believe as yet. To be The One speaks to self realization, but before that you have to be reborn a new person - resonating at that frequency of ‘The One’ ….. Hence why he had to die first (his ‘old self’ being killed) and being reborn with the inner knowing that he is now “The One”.
The oracle plays multiple roles and being clairvoyant is one as well as a guide. She does know the future but her job is also to guide persons along their highest path to self fulfillment - but only when they are ‘ready’….. mind you, her job isn’t to tell ppl what to do but tell them what they need to know at that particular time - then it is ultimately up to them to exercise their will to either act upon the guidance or not

The vase scene really blows my mind. Would Neo have broken the vase if The Oracle hadn't told him about it? Would Neo have tried to save Morpheus if she hadn't told that one of them (Neo or Morpheus) will die? Basically she said that Neo can save Morpheus, but will die in the process. If she didn't tell him this, Neo would most probably wouldn't have enough belief in himself to even think about saving Morpheus, let along trying it.
I love the way that it proves the paradox of free will. Neo says before meeting the oracle that he "doesn't like the idea of not being in control of his own actions." The problem with Neo's statement is that if we had complete control over our own destiny's, then all our choices would be predestined because nothing would be able to effect or change our choices. To have free will is to have the power of choice, but to think you have complete control over that choice is a fallacy, because our choices are almost never made in a vacuum. If everyone has free will, then that means we have have the freedom to effect and influence one another's will. She demonstrates this truth to him with the vase, and by extension eases his concern that all his actions are predestined. He was not always going to break the vase, he did so because he accepted her influence. Neo doesn't just choose to become the one on his own, he chooses to do so after accepting Trinity's influence.
Having your videos pop up in my suggested videos recently makes me want to watch all of the good matrix films again. Haha
I am blown away by the people who have not seen The matrix, I made my girlfriend watch it with me the other night and I was on the edge of my seat I still love it so much. I feel like it's timeless but people today don't seem to like it

Oh, THANK GOSH, I was worried you guys were posting spoilers about the new one already, Glad to see it's a recap of some of the original :)
I feel like the Oracle is simply predicting the future by looking at stop lights, since she is a machine program she sees things on a incredibly deep level with ease. When we drive we know other drivers will most likely stop at a red light so we can predict thier actions. They will drive straight up to the light and slow down as they move forward. Eventually 99% of drivers will come to a stop before going into the intersection.
We all have tons of programs going on daily. Look at neo looking for the vase. The Oracle created interest in the vase, therefore causing neo to look for the vase he didn't even notice. It was a simple red light for her.
Ben, Wow! you've produced one of the best Matrix analysis video's I've seen. I've seen a ton of'em ! ... Really enjoyed it, Thanks ! 👍 & subbed
The oracle was basically AdSense. Giving suggestions based on his inputs in a dialogue and whether or not he accepted her cookies
Causality, free will, the battle of wills....The Matrix is a masterpiece
Why did Neo knock over the vase? Was Oracle predicting the future, or pulling a clever stunt? Was Neo standing too close to the vase? Would anybody standing in that spot turn slightly, thus knocking over the vase? I know that a clever person can manipulate behavior in a way that, to the untrained, can seem like magic, or at least some kind of telepathy. A computer program could certainly measure distances accurately enough to see the danger to the vase. Heck, why did the Oracle put the vase in that exact spot? Not a safe place for a vase.
The first 40 seconds of this video had me laughing so hard my sister slapped me in the back of my head because she was trying to sleep.
The Oracle is there to analyze CHOICE. These choices include LOVE, which the robots no very little of. With this information, they can make a better matrix, which will make a better BATTERY (us)
And thats exactly what they did in the new matrix movie
So instead of just calculations what if the Oracle is running millions of simulations in her head at all times and picking the one with the best result. Imagine the Dr Strange scene but like ALL the time for her. She can still pick the wrong choice or see the wrong thing because she doesnt have omnipotence, its just the best chance.
Because she knew Neo would become a grumpy old man who would try to murder his nephew in his sleep. Wait, wrong ruined franchise
This is why I have to avoid any and all re-makes, sequels and other attempts to milk old ideas for the sake of pure greed.
Unless it's a new idea, I ain't paying.
And as for new and un-tried things, ain't it great that we can still turn to Anime?
Terminator, The Matrix, its all so tiresome
@@Grandmaster-Kush And Bill and Ted
Yeah, after the 2nd viewing, I never thought that she told him he wasn't the one. Through successive viewings, I found more and more levels of depth to the Oracle scene, making it the most important part of the movie, IMHO. She clearly is saying that HE needs to decide if he's the one or not and that he's the one holding himself back. She tells him the things that he needs to hear, not so much as part of a grand scheme of manipulation (though I do understand that adding in what the Architect says and subsequent events in the sequels makes it seem like she might have been manipulating him to some degree), but so that his nagging inner questions and self doubt would be quieted long enough for him to realize that he actually is the one. Like she said, it's like being in love. If you are dating someone and are too focused on trying to figure out if you're in love or not, you actually prevent any genuine love from being realized. You're focusing too much on your own feelings and mental state and not on the other person. You could 'fall in love' with the idea of being in love with that person, but that's not the same thing as actually loving that person and can lead to really bad outcomes.
If, in the court example, the lawyers proved that the murder was an inevitable conclusion of incompatible events converging, then the defendant would still be punished in accordance with determinism, because his committing the crime is the impetus to determine his punishment. The outcome would be equally a product of that incomparable series of events.
One major point that even the new 2021 movie may not had addressed : Is the "real" world in the Matrix movies just one more 'layer up' of yet one more "matrix" shell reality ? ( How did Neo in the assumed real world kill a sentinel ?, How did Agent smith really infect that one 'real' human ?...etc. ) The whole humans used as batteries that sounds impractical may be due to being just another 'layer' in the matrix .
I thought that was obvious, but people seem confused. He sees the code in the "real" world. He has powers in the "real" world. The "real" world ain't real.
@@ernststravoblofeld There is no reason to go there. The machines communicate wirelessly. The machines grew Neo. They implanted him with tech (the probes). Is it really a stretch that he also has some wireless communication devices implanted?
@@zeroone8800 What's more likely? What was shown in great detail, or what you theorize?
@@ernststravoblofeld What was shown in great detail? The existence of a two/multi layer simulation is hypothesized entirely on "Wouldn't it be interesting" and Neo could control real life machines with his mind. That is it. What couldn't Neo do in the real world that he could do in the matrix? fly, dodge bullets, stop bullets, ripe sign poles out of the ground, etc. The only special powers he has in the real world are connected to machines. In the matrix, he has powers over the environment. He does not have these in the real world. Conclusion, wireless control over machines is much more likely than a second layer matrix.
@@zeroone8800 Ok. You seem to have a lot invested in not seeing what was shown in the film. You do you.
In this scene, it is three perspectives e.g. morpheus belives neo is the one so he brought him to the oracle to prove to neo that he is the one.
However, neo is unsure that he is the one so she doesn't say he is the one.
What do you guys think?
The point is no matter his free will he cannot escape his destiny. Whether she told him or not the vase still would've broke. She could make the choice to tell him or not but either way the vase was always going to break. Neo would go on believing he wasn't the one but no matter how he wanted to fight it, he was always going to be the one. He couldn't do it till he believed it himself but this wouldve always happened no matter what choices he made it would all lead him to his destiny.
This was a mind blowing analysis. Kudos to you
I think the vase scenario is far more simple. When Oracle asks Neo don't worry about vase, Oracle knew human instinct is to look for problem. Oracle calculated angle of Neo's arm and proximity Neo was to vase. All combined probability was high that Neo would knock vase over.
The Oracle is a unique program and I LOVE HER! Gloria Foster was perfect for this role and she is missed RIP Oracle❤
The replacement actress was terrible
I wonder if she foresaw her own death?
Sir you have forgotten one thing. The conversation with the Architect and Neo. Remember the Architects said this is the six rendition from his point of view. So the Oracle and the Architect has been through this 5 times before. So her precognition is just a memory for her with some variations. The Architect also said that he's the "Father" and she's the "Mother" of the "Matrix". 👁️
I loved your analysis. You have a new sub. Hope you're still making content.
Your videos would greatly benefit from an understanding of western occultism.
'The Source' is a name esotericists have been using for God for ages.
The Architect is the name of God used by Freemasons.
'Guides' in occultism, such as the Oracle, are a specific type of entity.
Pretty much every technological association in these movies has a spiritual correspondence as well.
You’re the one when you believe that you are. It’s that simple. Neo doubted himself at that moment and so AT THAT MOMENT, he was not the one.
If anyone’s ever reached enlightenment before, they’ll overstand what it feels like to walk down a street & literally feel like the creator itself. No separation. It’s a high like no other. ✨🌻🏹
THANK YOU SO MUCH!! THIS VIDEO WAS AMAZING, FANTASTIC, MINDBLOWING,... WOW!!!!
american ben great video as always and it took mind to a million different places about this movie that had me back in the day... to me the only part that is a splinter in my mind about your idea is tanks moment when he shot cypher... the only thing i'll say is that he was a home grown and wouldn't have come into contact with the oracle... so either the oracle(being a program) really did have "psychic" powers or the machines had the humans under full surveillance the whole time at all times... morpheus stats that they had machine for every man woman and child in zenon... anyways its nice to know someone else who that about this crazy type of stuff in the movie... i do agree with ay on the fact she can calculate events very actuarially... of course the oracle could have just been on the machines side the whole time and been informed that they had a mole on the inside and that the mole would deliver morphues to them... lots to think about now... ... ...
I really enjoy this analysis. I think you are right about the Oracle guiding the gameplay to get Neo back to the beginning of the game. I would like to point out that the choices made in the game are in fact already made prior to entry. Like the story of any video game, the path of the hero is predetermined before you turn on the game. But there does seem to be a limbo between each version where the characters decide how the story will pan out. From version 5 to version 6 the biggest change was that Trinity decided that she loved Neo and was going to save him from his perpetual cycles in a game he was never suppose to win. Or maybe more to the point the Oracle eventually decided to help her save Neo. Thus rewriting version 5 into version 6.
Allowing Trinity to take that extra shift at the beginning of movie one that allowed for the story of the previous game to be rewritten.
......
Cypher: You weren't supposed to relieve me.
Trinity: I know, but I felt like taking your shift.
.....
Trinity's choice to connect with Neo is the catalyst that sets it all off. A choice that I theorize was thwarted by the Oracle in the past because it always lead to the end of the Matrix. Something the Oracle didn't believe in til then.
But that's one take. Any thoughts from others out there?
I really like how you said she broke him out of the ongoing cycle . In order to interrupt cycles something has to come from outside and infiltrate that system no? Can the cycle be broken from within? I say this because what if Trinity is an entity outside of the matrix, outside of the human world (sounds weird I know lol)
@@Solastar that's the magic of a predetermined system generating the narrative of choice within itself. I do believe Trin is from within the system but I do agree that one has to get pretty far out there to piece this puzzle together
Intriguing comment, and so compelling I read it twice. I suppose we could integrate the ideas in this video essay as well, and suggest that the Oracle, having for whatever reason decided to end, in your framework, the reiterations of the game, specifically primed Trinity to take Cypher’s shift.
That’s not merely clever of you, it’s almost circumstantially omniscient. Nice work.
Reminds me of the Chinese Odyssey a bit
Recurring cycles
Immortality
Etc
Just watched this movie again last night. Good timing.
Great video!
One vital thing to consider imo, is the golden code. In one of the original script notes, it says that Neo could see the Oracle as golden code in the 2nd Matrix film. In the intro to the 3rd Matrix film, we see the golden code turn into a spiral like traversal, it represents the Fibonacci sequence (golden ratio) which is a universal signature of life, existence etc... The golden code in the matrix is important, because it represents the part of the machine a i that has become sentient, consciousness has somehow flourished within the machines mainframe, and thus has this universal code of nature embedded in its core. The Oracle was not merely a programme following protocol, she had her own individuated conscious volition
I only recall Seraph being golden code.
The Oracle offers a cookie. That should be more than enough.
Excellent study. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Thoughts:
The dialogue between Neo and the Oracle can be seen as a series of scripted handshakes between two programs. While causal in tone, it is a formal protocol that establishes who the other is and provides reciprocal confirmation. In other words, they are feeling each other out while at the same time checking themselves.
In one sense Consciousness is a meta stable system, subject to internal and external influences that may or may not lead to incremental change, stasis or a radical shift.
In programming language (which has been adapted by cognitive science), goal directed autonomous algorithms can reprogram themselves, leading to evolutionary branch points which might not be “predictable” despite being deterministic.
Example: Intrusive thoughts are akin to code bugs which are typically dismissed almost instantly as being either ridiculous or repugnant
However, should one permit greater consideration they can become obsessions and override old state editing leading to a new state
I think he's not "the one" in that moment, but he can become the one, just like the rest of us can become the one. Many are starting to realise the matrix is not just some movie.
Agent Thompson would like to know your location, sir!
this is just the first movie - the second movie disproves the 'one' theory, so you can't become the one. It's a lie
@@tickledonions9483 I'm already the one, because I've always been outside society. I could always see the other side even before the matrix came out. So I know what I'm talking about.
@@TRafael82 You are always part of the Matrix because you were born in it, that was the point in the movies. The 'escaped' humans of Zion were controlled by the Matrix. They would force The One to select humans to rebuild Zion with every reset of the Matrix. To believe that you are the grand anomaly is foolish because you do not accept your objective limitations. Our universe is not a trilogy like The Matrix. We do not know the grand design, the grand purpose, the grand picture.
@@tickledonions9483 I didn't mean it literally, more like a metaphor that movie. And i said in my first comment everyone can get there to have one leg in the matrix and the other in the new world how it's supposed to be.
These videos give me a headache. Good job!
If she is calculating to infinity then her representation in the Matrix would have been in a coma. Because infinity means there is no end.
She is not going to infinity, she is just going through her learning from all the previous version of the Matrix and her actions on each one.
She is using Emotional Intelligence which is knowing or rationalize ahead how you are going to react emotionally to what you are going to hear or see.
If you say anything to someone, that person takes that from outside of him so it will question it. But if comes from within then there is no questioning. The movie The Origin is based on this concept.
I always took it as her telling him it’s about self belief. You can be told you are capable of these things. You have to truly believe what you are capable of. Like she says “no one can tell you, you are in love. You believe it from balls to bones.” So when Trinity makes her declaration it awakens his belief in himself.
1)If Morphious is going to ask someone to voluntarily drug themselves into a vulnerable position at least Morphious could offer them a last meal incase things go more wrong.
2)Spoilers: Im reminded of a Dr Who ep. where Mat Smith’s Doctor supposedly meets Clara for the first time. They meet in the Dalek Asylum. Clara had been turned into a Dalek. Inside the Dalek’s mind was Clara in a kitchen making soufflés. The 11th Doctor asks Clara where she got the ingredients to make the soufflés. Clara’s act of making soufflés was Clara’s way of staying human. Clara knew she was a Dalek. Clara did not want to be a Dalek. The 11th Doctor confirming to Clara what she already knew did not help Clara.
You’ve succeeded in making me want to watch this movie again. ;-)
He couldn’t be told, he had to KNOW. Being told and trying to accept it requires belief, and a person can start to doubt when things get hairy. At the very least Neo knew that he could save Morpheus because The Oracle told Morpheus that he would find The One, and Morpheus told Neo that little tidbit just before Neo met with the Oracle. He wasn’t The One at that moment, but once he saved Morpheus, he KNEW that he WAS The One. Because once he knew, there could be no doubts.
7:50 In this scenario, the defendant’s inability to choose for himself would be what they call “Mitigating circumstances.”
“Whether you think you can, or you think you can't - you're right”
I wish The Oracle would have told Neo not to make Matrix 4.
No one can see beyond a choice they haven’t made 😂🤷
Now do a video on the fact that Zion in the real world, is NOT really the real World.
but just another level of the Matrix construct.
It's moments like these that made the originals shine
The watchowski brothers didn't need to make a sequel to the trilogy
They shill for the political message as sister now :D
@@ravanpee1325 yeah nah I don't care what they call themselves, they're still men, just badly mutilated
@@marcusaustralius2416 Their mental decline clearly correlates with the quality of the movie..it's getting worse and worse everytime..

That makes The Oracle the real The One. She alone had the power to steer the Matrix to a reset or to break the cycle. Everyone else is just cogs in the machine that she manipulates and adjusts. It reminds me of the last movie at the end when the architect asks her, "You knew this would happen, didn't you?" And even though she says, "No, I didn't know, but I believed," (because let's be honest, that's way more inspirational) she did know, because she orchestrated it from the beginning.
The Oracle actor Gloria Foster has that South Chicago aura. I looked her up and she was born there. She reminds me of my great aunt Bessie in Chicago.
2:04 so the oracle is an installation wizard?
Yes
17:00 before watching this video, I was thinking,
...for a long time, I let fear path the way, but I knew I couldn't stay. I could either choose a life that's gray or I could be brave. You can always change your destiny. You'll see. Watch me...
Lyrics I wrote a copy of years ago. I wasn't humming it, and didn't sing it out loud. I don't even watch these types of videos. So, how did this populate as an option and why did I choose to watch it?
😂😂😂 The introduction LOL
I don't accept that the Oracle altered her plan for the 6th One from resetting the Matrix to establishing peace before she met Neo. She says in the second film that it was Neo who made a believer out of her. I think that the event which changed her mind was the confrontation between Neo and Smith at the point of Smith's destruction in the first film. She saw things which were unanticipated and unaccounted for by either her or the Architect. As a result, she changed her mind, which led to her changing her plans with regard to Neo.
What an amazing content, my friend, thank you very much. You just explained what I always imagined to be, or just didn't plainly know about _The Matrix_ even after much time watching the movies, the _Animatrix,_ all the special features and just reading about it. I think we have free will, kinda. But we *are* influenced. So not really genuine free will after all.
The question is who or what are we influenced by ?
@@Solastar Yeah, parents, politicians, the media, friends and just about anyone else, who at the same time are influenced too so... It's just astounding.
Great analysis. I never put all of these elements together.
7:52 You basically described the plot of "Monirity Report "
He also described something known in law as “mitigating circumstances”
What she said was "sorry kid, *you've got the gift,* but it looks like your waiting for something" she didn't say he wasn't the one, she said he hadn't awoken his one powers yet, that's it. It's that "Sorry kid" that leads us to believe that's a no initially.
And it's revealed that Trinity would fall in love with the One. Heavily implying that what Neo (unconsciously) was waiting for. Love. He is the One.
Just came from why resurrections is misunderstood... Dropping a like here
Thanks for watching Luke 😊
Its even more complicated, the anomalies arent in the system, they aren't software... rather they are those who choose to unplug.
amazin video well done
Or just ask the writers/producers 😊
Free will acts and pre-determine acts are indistinguuishable to the viewer
Free will and determinism don’t exist in a paradox in the matrix. Just because neo believes he’s making a decision or feels like he’s making a decision doesn’t mean he actually is. I interpret the oracle as determinism incarnate. She is able to understand the chains of consequences that allow her to perfectly manipulate the future according to her desires. The level of understanding demands determinism because if someone could freely utilize their will to choose differently than they otherwise might have then the oracle would not be able to function. Her prophecies might or might not come true and she would be no more an oracle than you or I. But in the movies we see that they all do perfectly 100% of the time.
This is why I don’t “accept cookies” on the web.
Anytime I think about the free will debate, it leads me to the same conclusion. The question is not "do you have free will?" the question is "do YOU exist?" No one is a single entity unto themselves. Everything and everyone is connected. Wanting "free will" in the religious sense...a soul that somehow is independent of the laws of the universe....is wanting to be something separate from the universe. Of course even if souls were real...a person does not create their own soul. And anything that doesn't follow certain laws or rules, would just be complete chaos. So you would have to conclude that a soul still wouldn't have free will in the classic sense.
Sir I'm convinced only some people like you and I truly get the deep psychobabble conversations that are in The Matrix, which are "Awesome". Damn I love this movie! 👁️
Very nice video very cool. Btw it’s called a vase not a VAZ 😂
I have been wondering about that damn vase for 20... years... would he still have broken it?
She manipulated him and caused him to break it. Without saying anything it would've been left to chance. He might've broken it mistakenly...but what are the odds.
The braking of the vase is much simpler than it seems. If you say something to a person that is completely outside of his expectations this person will react quite violently - not violence, but with a very strong reaction, inculding a movement of surprise. Very often this movement is backwards, we back off from things that startle us. He expects her to say deep and important things and she completely shatters his expectations.
She sees where he stands, that he is an inch away from the vase, so telling him to not care about the vase makes him move backwards and turn around to see what she looks at, hitting the vase.
If you understand basic reactions to seemingly harmless remarks you can cause effects like that. Every mentalist knows and does that. Remarks like that combined with a light touch are a trigger for instant hypnotic trance. Most mentalist's tricks work with predictable involuntary reactions to certain well known and researched triggers almost everyone has.
She can't see the future. She just causes reactions. The vase is a very simple trick, some people create long chains of events by manipulating others.
My favourite part is how she says being the one is like being in love….no one can tell you if you are in love, you just know.
They continue talking and Neo thinks she just told him he’s not the one, even though she just said that it’s not something you can be told you are
The Oracle tells Neo because Neo said that Billy Jean is not his lover, she's just a girl who thinks that he is the one. But the kid is not his son.
Hm. 🤔. I hadn't considered this before. 😂
