Wow, 10k subs before the end of the year! I'm happy I could be a part to motivate you and offer some of what I learned. Thank you, Tony, for being consistent! Every week I'm looking forward to a new video of yours :). And now onto 20k
Yeah Man U were a big part of how I grew up to 1K which was huge. Thanks for all your time and advice you gave me. It helped a lot. Hope to see you back making content soon!!
@@BuildMontage Thanks Tony :), Yeah kinda shoot myself in the foot a bit, sold my Nvidia 2070s (for a good price) before the 3000 series launched. Then the new cards were nowhere available, nov will Big Navi be released, hope to get a card this month. Didn't realize that Premiere pro and Blender would like my 8-year-old temporary card LOL. Hope to be back soon :)
First off - 10k subs in less than a year? Killing. It. Mate. 👊 Oh man! So happy you got your screen built and can finally watch movies again. Your screen looks IDENTICAL to mine. Frame, support, etc. My AT screen has brought me a lot of happiness, so I hope yours will too! Game changer to have the center behind the screen vs below it. Makes for a much more immersive experience. Can’t want to see the next video on how you sort out the lighting. #breadlife
Very true. He is very honest and shares his experience. Home theater is a journey. We all make mistakes along the way. Sharing these mistakes so that we can help others is a great part of it
I love that you wore the white gloves for the unboxing. Took them off for building the frame and then put them back on when attaching the screen. Oil from fingers can leave greasy fingerprints that light up when the projector light shines on the screen.
Room is coming together nicely mate! Watching 300 in your room would have been so exciting for you. Looking forward to the next update and good luck with the led lights. And congrats on 10k mate...you deserve it!
Thanks Jase!! It was phenominal! Those subs really came to life. I also watched Oblivion on the weekend, it was pretty decent, next will be Edge of Tomorrow!! Thanks as well - 10K is a number I still can't believe!
It's always a trial-and-error process...but overall, still fantastic. I can only imagine what it's like taking in a flick in front of those Krix speakers!!! Enjoyed the update!
Looks great Tony. Love the new setup. I too don't get an amazing "reveal" with my single LED light strip. It's VERY bright which allows the bottom of my speakers to be revealed but the sides and top are not illuminated since I do not have strips on those edges. One day I want to see if I can do a better job at it. If you jump to 12:47 in this video - ruclips.net/video/PBuHLgGkfV4/видео.html you will see how my reveal lights look. Would like to improve it and also add RGB instead of only being blue.
Thanks Michael. The main issue is I think light is reflecting off the back of the screen so I’m going to try blocking it a little with tape but then I know it will also be dimmer. In the least when I figure out my hinge system I can “pop the hood” and show them off that way. Thanks for the link too. The Govee strips they sent me are nice and bright which could be half of my problem.
Looking good man, and can't wait to see it all finished! One question tho... Is the black backing for the screen not required? Did you ask the guy who you bought the screen from what impact the backing has on picture quality? I'm curious because I assumed that the backing material was what stopped the light from shining through the woven screen, which would help improve the image brightness... I honestly don't know though, so that's why I'm asking.
It’s common for Acoustic screens not to have backing, in a traditional screen I would think it could be an issue. My picture is super bright without it and like your room, mine is completely light controlled. Although the backing is very light I still think additional adds to the sound being blocked. Picture looks fantastic tho.
@@BuildMontage Good to know for if I ever switch to a Cinemascope screen and go to in-wall speakers! : ) So anyway, how are feeling about the size of the new screen?
Loving the video and good luck the speakers deserve the spot light. BTW what projector are you running? Any plans for kit update and walk through? Stay awesome.
Haha nah I gave up. A perforated screen will work but i prefer a weave. I have a hinge now so I can simply lift the lid if I want to. U can see my latest video on my main channel page.
Great video Tony. Mine are also only visible at an angle mostly, and don't have as much light hitting the screen, got a bit lucky. Good luck I'm sure you'll be able to tweak it
Your setup looks great the way you lit your speakers up. I suspected I’d have some issues but even if I pop the hood I can show them off that way too :) I think you had more space to angle the leds than I do from what I remember of your vid
@@BuildMontage ya they are on the inside frame directly firing the light facing the speakers, even then some light does hit the back of the screen. I'm glad you're going after this effect a la IMAX 😜
Depends what you mean... I stil need acoustic absorption and diffuser panels to get the inside right but the walls have upgraded acoustic treatment in them as well but it doesnt block it all out - but its never an issue - I listen at whatever volume I like :D
Please advise which inceiling Krix speaker for Atmos, Atmospherix AS vs Atmospherix A20 as I want to setup 4 inceiling however confusing which some using AS and some using A20 and I am quite new for Dolby Atmos. My current setup is 5.1 with (Neuphonix, Epicentrix, Accoustix and Volcanix). Room size is Length 5100mm and width 4720mm with height ceiling 3000mm
@@BuildMontage My wife used to call me pitt bull when I ran into these problems. I wouldn't stop until I found a solution!! AND I always did!! I'm sure you will too!!
What do you mean? Do you mean an acoustic screen vs a blockout screen? The reason you need an acoustic screen is because it need to have speakers placed behind it.
@@BuildMontage hi tonny thank you for reply yeah im billding my home theater my question is for the screen which option is better for quality image going for acoustic transparent screen or regular screen . I already know that the advantage of AT screen is you can install your speaker behind the screen but i heard that you will lose quality image. Please if you have any contact email that will be great plzz help
Krix do a lot of their own in-house design, especially with constant directivity horn technology, so there's not really a direct comparison. But if they're looking for high sensitivity speakers with horns and waveguides then Klipsch or JBL would probably be the two main companies in the USA for those products.
Almost their mate, seriously DIY.. if you have the patience you can do anything. You wont know what to do with yourself once your room is complete? I have an idea, you can help me renovate my cinema!
@@TorinTPG hehe I did! It dropped as I was lying in bed and I got the notification quick. Loved the vid Tony, shame about the lights but this is just a little step in the way to perfection.

😂 they were uncomfortable so I took them off. I was careful, no marks on the screen.

Looks amazing congrats.

Great set up! great video too...
The RGB king strikes again haha. I have no doubts you will get it figured man. That thumbnail though...NICE WORK!
Lol RGB King... we both have reputations now Mr Basshead
@@BuildMontage haha, I need to pick your brain one day to help me RGB up my room. Speaking of Mr. Basshead guess what came in yesterday ;).
Mate you need a cordless drill with a hex set. It saves so much time and effort over using an Allen key.
Yeah I have all the tools :) I just didn’t want to over tighten them as the thread was short and tight.
Hey mate, How soundproof is the room when watching a film? Looks amazing.

Probably a dumb question, but do the subs behind the screen not shake or vibrate the screen while you're watching?
Not a dumb question. If they do you can’t see it.

Do you know of a similar speaker company in the USA like Krix?

Doesnt the ports move the screen when its lit?
Not discernable - the subs are down facing ported as well which would move the most air.
First
Put the lights to the back of the cove
That wouldn’t work. It has to shine the other way
