🇬🇧...I liked/like Chris Maitland's style of playing, it harmonised excellently with the "old" PT releases - but what Gavin Harrison delivers here is from another planet..!

I am a fan as from 1993.First concerts I saw was very psychedelic,which I was very into,at that time. The concerts even gets more commercial some years for this concert,with also short Beatles kind of songs This was the first tour with a much more modern heavy sound,also because of Gavin,the new drummer then.I loved it at that time. Could not believe my ears. Amazing 🎶🙏

I learned about this band because I played the video game Alan Wake, and when the game is finished in the credits roll, there begins the song Fear of a blank planet by Porcupine Tree, and since then I’ve been a fan.
The game is actually Control, I wonder how many people were introduced to the band through that

Truly an amazing band I only heard of because I saw someone wearing a Porcupine Tree shirt. I took one listen and I knew these guys are truly special beyond their lack of popularity. Next time they are in the US I will be there. Keep up the great music guys. Peace!
I saw this show at the 9:30 Club in DC on this tour. Phenomenal show as you can see. The setlist for the DC Show was slightly different than this one but still pretty close. They played Shallow at the DC Show for example. Still great, great show!!

This looks great. I would like to know, if the source is from the TV broadcast, would that broadcast include the song “Mellotron Scratch”? This song was replaced by that unnecessary interview of Steven Wilson. The set list from this concert shows it was played right after “Futile”. There is an audio recording on YT, but I would love to finally see this song played live!
Unfortunately this song does not appear in the concert broadcast on television. It does appear on the CD.
@@jorgeyamilmaluffgignoux6100 Jorge, yes I understand. I have the CD. But after the whole concert was recorded, I’m sure the interview was edited in to replace Mellotron Scratch. There should be a videotape of the whole concert with no interviews. I emailed the company a long time ago but never received a reply. 😞

@@jorgeyamilmaluffgignoux6100 Earlier this year, the band re-released their 2005 studio album “Deadwing” as a deluxe box set. A newly remixed & remastered version of the entire Rockpalast concert is included on the Blu-ray disc that comes in the box set.

Tree album is very poor compared to inabsentia & The Raven that refused to sing - too arty farty I would say
Fully agreed. This line-up is the best by far.
Is it just me or does the entire band seem off. Brian's voice is tired and flat. Harmony is out of time. Even Gavin's drums seem slightly amiss. And the lighting. Don't get me started.
Still one of the most talented bands on the planet.
