    Foil guys, can somebody please explain why you look so much more flexible and faster than epeeists? Is it because the foil is mught lighter than an epee?

      Right parries, hits their first riposte. It's not the fastest riposte, but you're basically never going to get the remise call like that, especially when it looks like you're crowding to avoid being hit

    How can anybody look at 0:42 and take foil seriously, the dude is running forward head first, his tip in the air BEHIND HIM for over 15m. It makes no sense.

    • @andrewli6606
      @andrewli6606 2 месяца назад

      I mean… none of the Olympic fencing styles are particularly realistic. Épée even isn’t particularly realistic. End of the day, it’s a sport.

    • @zilliq-qz5uw
      @zilliq-qz5uw 2 месяца назад

      @@andrewli6606 sure épée is not realistic either but at least the goal of épée is to hit without getting hit, you cannot run head first and hide your blade behind your back to avoid losing the right of way

      @@bibblingcattywampushe's fast but it's not really agressive if his tip is behind his back. He's only allowed to do this dumb maneuver because of right of way and 300ms lockout time
