Watching Ms. Jody Watley evolve from an pretty teenager to a beautiful young woman on "Soul Train" is rewarding and inspiring, still. And yet, very talented. Thanks so much for sharing these classic moments.
These two are the most legendary of all dancers and so many of the greatest have derived their talents from these two pioneers. I had the pleasure in talking to Jeffrey and he took the time out of his busy schedule to get to know how my day was going. Two incredibly underrated individuals. I still pop/lock to this day because of these two greats and I will always have them to thank when it comes to dancing in front of an audience and getting the party started!
2:21 Awesome shufflin'!!!!! I never knew Jodi Watley was such a great dancer. Wow! This is the kind of fresh dancing from the era when is was about the dancing and having good clean fun with it. Today, women just shake their asses in the camera and practically show their poonany and call in dancing. Depressing. I'm inventing a time machine and traveling to the seventies to hang out at Soul Train with Jodi Watley and Jeffrey Daniel!
-Es increíble la creatividad de esta gente en aquellos tiempos. Son lo máximo. -the creativity of these people in those times is incredible. They are the best.
looking at this era of soul train compared to that of the 90s into 2000s, it's easy to see the shift of emphasis from showing off moves to showing off body parts.
I hate when great groups break up over petty differences, they was a one of a kind group,.Howard Hewitt & Jody Watley's vocals complimented each other perfectly,. They tried to fix or replace something that wasn't broken.
It says somewhere on RUclips that Jeffrey introduced the moonwalk. As can be seen at 01:09 Jody and Jeffrey also more or less invented the PSY horse riding dance (Gangnam Style). All respect to Jody and Jeffrey
0:42 Michael Jackson used Jeffery Daniels walk head whip a lot in his younger years (seen here). Michael was very influenced by Jeffrey's style of dance.
................HOW MUCH I MISS THESE TIMES 😥........I ALWAYS FELT MORE SAFER WALKING ANYWHERE ALONE😏.......I STAY OUT OF THE WORLDS POLLUTED AIR😩.....GO WITH JEHOVAH😇!!!.......😎
wow. don't see much dancing like this anymore. and there was no wardrobe department which meant that back then they really knew how to dress. i want some of those outfits myself especially the dress in the last dance scene.
Man she was FINE, and an awsome natural dancer been watchin her for hours on youtube an aint realize that was her, she was a waay better dancer than singer, and she had a good music career, but you can tell dancing was her LOVE...

Back when music and dancing were fun. I miss these times.
Jody was a disco queen of the 1970's. I liked when she danced with fans. she was so chic.
they were innocently, eloquently, rhymically devine together
She started dancing up there at 14. One of my favorite dancers.

She was my favorite soul-train dancer and member of Shalamar!
I can't stop watching the "fight" scene, LOL. It looked more realistic than some professional wrestling matches I've seen!
