I just want to say, Thank you all for everything. Watching, liking, commenting, subscribing, sharing, super chats, merch, channel members, donations, patreon (before it randomly disappeared), and emails! I notice, keep track, and so greatly appreciate it all. You’ve all helped me get through the toughest years of my life, and without posting a video, then you watching, I’d either be gone or in a very different place right now. I have constant ups and downs. And I let it out. But I will never give up! Have a good one! Rob
Thats the attitude never give up. I was worryed about you harming your self but I thank you will be ok. just remimber when it gets rilly bad it usuely passes and gets better I want you to check out mega woods walkers youtube vids he made some good camping vidios camping on the AT . He passed away a few years ago I thank the sacred bacon got him. I thank God is useing you to help others hang in ther.
Rob, I'm sorry for all the trauma, emotional and probably physical neglect you have been through. It is likely why you isolate. It is your reflex to keep away from any further hurt, even if you may not realize it, that is why you do this. Loosing your grandparents and great-grandparent like that is so sad. I'm sorry you went through that. You may have been small, but you still understand it as a loss. I see that as a pattern in your life, that loss has been a factor. You are already making a change, right? Look at all the things you have done! I have watched the path you have walked to reach where you are today, and you are still on that journey. Keep going, you will reach your goals. I believe in you. You make things happen. Since you spoke about bedwetting, it is not something to be ashamed of, even if it is the first natural response. Some people are born with a physiological reason for the bedwetting taking a little longer than they would like to resolve. It can be caused by a smaller bladder than normal which takes a while to reach a normal size through growth and age. Most often it is trauma related. That's not your fault. Isolating can be caused by trauma. It sounds like your young mother who had been homeless previously, may also have had trauma that made her ground you all those times. There was something going on there, for sure The fact that you are out and about while working is good. Taking refuge in nature is very soothing. I like your videos very much because they take me out into nature and I get to hear the birdlife of your country, which I adore. I read someone's comment on here that spoke about the idea that you would probably enjoy owning your own piece of land and build your own place on it. Maybe this community could see what they could do to help you reach your goal. Try to mention it in one of your videos. What do you think? Is this something you would like? I'm one of many who is very glad you are still around. All the best. 😀
Check out Robert Perkins. Into the great solitude. Your life is ur life. Do what u love. Things can always be alot worse. Youre cute& smart. You got this. The earth is our great mother. Give thanks❤ check out rune hes a danish guy that does vids in the woods.
Isolation is all you have ever known, so Ofcourse you feel most comfortable in it. You also suffer from emotional neglect. These things definitely imprint on you as an adult. Thank you for sharing your story. Just know you have a RUclips family. I know it’s not quite the same, but we are here.
I am a nobody. But this nobody would like to thank every single person that has donated to rob. I do not know this man at all but I’m very thankful there are generous people out there willing to help someone they don’t know. I have not sent him any money because of my messed up situation. I wish I could though. Be careful out there rob! I hope you decide to use one of those sponsors and it works out great!
Yeah were all in a much worse situation the last few years with inflation and all the other crap going on. Not to get political but things were my better when Trump was president. Hang in there Rob we're all in the same boat these days.
Never apologize for how you survived, Rob. Hyper-independence is a trauma response as well as a survival strategy. Most people lack the empathy required to be safe friends for someone who has experienced a lot of trauma. I see you. You are not alone. ❤
I'm pretty much the same. When no one has ever cared, it seems life unfolds with no one caring. I've made it to 59, unbelievable really. Still completely alone. Tried to make friends, but they turn out to be horrible eventually. I don't know what this is all about, but I try to give people smiles still, I still have manners, I still display compassion. I don't know ....I think part of it is just the way the world is now. Hang in there...
Self-isolation is a common coping mechanism. It is learned, and there is a reason people turn to this. The world needs to hear from all types of people. ❤
Rob honey take it from an old lady. In my life I've had hard times. When I was young I never fit in, due mostly because of my siblings. But I had a couple teachers in my senior year that stepped up for me. They taught me that no matter who tries to bring you down YOU CAN OVERCOME!!!! I've watched you from your 1st video. I'm sorry I can't support you financially. But I keep you in my Prayers and Thoughts. God Bless you
Praying to the Lord Jesus Christ is the absolute best thing one can ever do for someone. He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think.
I've been watching since the beginning and contributing when I have been able. There has always been something very real and raw about you and now the picture is more clear. Thank you so much for sharing. The hard times create special people and you are one of them. Continuing to pray you are guided during the next chapter with miracles, wisdom and peace.
MANY OF US HAVE HAD POOR CHILDHOODS and have turned out well. You too. Heading to that hopeful light. After I got out of the Army in 73, I roamed the United States by hitchhiking, sleeping on side the road and in wooded areas, taking odd jobs, dishwasher, janitor, old folks home and even the circus. I grew my hair out ( hippies in those days ) and did this for eight years. Been to almost every state. My fieldpack was my home. Yes, I did visit relatives and friends during thise times. Over all it was an interesting and story-filled life. Then one day I applied for an operator's job for a city and later got married and thirty years later retired. Then I i worked for the railroad for four more years until I drew social security. Unlike you, I kept a journal while you have video. Looking back at my journal and drawings, I will state, it was a hell of a ride. Trail forward.
I'm 68 and retired on the first of December 2023. I now live on Social Security and don't see anyone until I go to the local Walmart for groceries, which is about once every 2-3 weeks. I have no friends whatsoever, but I've always been pretty much a loner. I didn't have quite the hardships you had, but I never knew my father, and we were poor growing up. Dinner was often government peanut butter on crackers with tea. I still have a fondness for that combo. I'm not the typical 68 year old and play a lot of computer games, mostly like Farcry, Ghost Recon, and World of Warships. Even over the electronic medium, I still have difficulty forming relationships. Occasionally, I would meet someone online to game with, but eventually, they would want to know my age, then I wouldn't hear from them again. I don't know why this would be an issue. Hang in there. I hope someone with extra land in a nice place offers you a piece to homestead.
Sounds like we’re a lot alike. And I was a bit of a gamer too. When I was going from place to place I started playing Diablo 2 at a friend’s house. Then when World of Warcraft came out I played that off and on for around 12 years. MMORPGs are amazing for loners. Just live life online. But also terrible. At least for me. That’s part of what made me hate society.
I really would love to see you get some land. Even just one acre, somewhere to build. Take us along. Campaign for donations. Collect pallets. Live in nature. I'm rooting for you, Rob man. You're a great guy, and you're still young and healthy. It won't be easy, but you've got what it takes.
He could even post a video and ask if someone would sell him a acre at the far edge of their property. There are many people who own 50 or 100 acres that would sell him an acre just to have a neighbor to talk to occasionally. He needs to get the word out.
You just said everything that I am living... got two & a half acres back in 2022 then just this April got some pallets ... Im nowbuilding my tiny home, outdoor kitchen & a small 4ft tall 6ft wide x 8foot long small shed. Now I ran out of pallets & haven't had a running vehicle since 2022... But thankful for my SOLITUDE living in the middle of nowhere. If it wasn't for the pallets I wouldn't have my new infrastructure. CAN'T BEAT RECLAIMED MATERIALS! greenhouse is next
You have a great voice and good story-telling skills. That makes for very watchable videos. Not everyone can do this. I hope your channel blows up with subscribers so that your financial worries will be a thing of the past. Keep going!
Speaking of the nature video - It Was really good! And I watched it! I'm a 30 year old scientist from the UK. We're all people watching you and rooting for you!
I love your nature footage and wish I had some money to send you. Hopefully eventually someone who owns some undeveloped land will let you camp there for your nature videos and you could maybe watch over their land when they are not there.. You are an amazing, adaptable, all season guy. Thanks for sharing with us. Your resilience is very inspiring.
Now look at ya! You're a RUclipsr with lots of friends! Way to go getting back on the videos! Started watching you back in NY before winter hit! Keep it going!
I lived a typical life here in America. Worked 40 years, paid bills, rent, taxes. At the end you get a monthly income. It's enough to live on, and I do mean "live on", it's not actually living. I would encourage you Rob, to do some planning for the future. You're an innovative, resourceful guy. I don't know if you can keep doing this 10 or 15 yrs from now. Maybe plan for a piece of land somewhere, 5 or 10 acres. Build it out, develop it, live in a tent or an RV or something while you work on it. Just a thought.
I enjoyed that talk. You're a interesting openly honest good man . I like solitude and have either don't see old friends or have peed off friends enough so they don't want to know me or sabotaged friendships and keep distant from family Sometimes solitude is what's needed to move forward in life. I hope that was okay to say . Another great video Rob 👍 looking forward to your next monologue. Keep them coming 👍👍
I have a friend up here in Alaska who lives in an 8x8 foot log cabin on Federal land. He lives there for maybe 10 years and got trespassed from his own cabin in 2004. He went into the bush for two years and came back to that same cabin in 2006 and has lived there since that time. He has no government id and does odd jobs for cash. You remind me of him in a lot of ways. Take care and know in time you will find a place or lifestyle that works for you.
West Virginia Veteran here.... Hope you are enjoying your visit around my state.. there are many very remote locations throughout the state, especially if you travel up the old hollows....
My only option is to keep going. I’ve been beyond homelessness, into the depths of hell, and have always been broke. Most give up before getting close to what I’ve experienced. I should’ve been on drugs and in prison, and eventually end it. My only option is to keep going. That way there’s always a chance. And there’s everything I’ve learned from it all. Keep shedding the bad parts. Grow. Things most people would panic over and not be able to handle, don’t even phase me anymore. It sucks. I know words do nothing. But there’s always a way out, and it doesn’t involve ending your chances completely. That just ruins you, forever. And any chance of happiness is also gone, forever.
Though you are going though a rough time. You are blessed to have your physical health so that you can work to try and get straightened out and you will get there. You have your subscribers to help you out and talk to and that’s a good thing. As always wish you the best🙏🏻❤🙏🏻
Dude... You and me have similar stories--- The rejection and abandonment are really hard to deal with.. And I don't trust anyone.. You can't make friends because of the trust issues as ALL people have betrayed me... People always disappoint me... Knowing that I was the only one in the situation and mindset that I have is extremely depressing----- But.. Knowing there is a person like you that has a similar story is really extremely uplifting for some reason... Thanks a lot for sharing your story... It helps me a lot......
I was walking the streets one night and met a homeless guy named Rob. Realized we were the same person (he was black and 30 years older), and I walked with him the rest of the night, just talking. And I never saw him again. That was the first time I realized there were others. And where I was headed if I didn’t change something.
Really liked this video. As some people pointed out, you have a good voice and combined with the sounds of nature, it really makes for some good content. Talking about yourself and your life history is also really interesting, as it lets us viewers know you as a person, which I think is the very most interesting thing about a normal, decent human being. With the regurgitation of influencers we get nowadays, we seriously need people like you to just talk and keep telling their stories to bring balance to the public space
Rob, thanks for sharing your story! I had a similar experience. Finally in my 50’s I gave up my crazy lifestyle and surrendered to the Lord. It has changed my life. Pursue first the kingdom of heaven and all other things shall be added to you is so true. We will all continue to have our trials and tribulations but many blessings along the way. Beautiful Filipino wife, great son, living in the mountains of Idaho. Also doing a homeless and prison ministry. Join His team, change your life.😊🙏
We love you Rob. I was a massive introvert until I started my family, without them I would be a caveman. I had an unfortunate childhood also, and also wet the bed til late childhood 🤷♂️ Life is embarassing and challenging until you either stop caring and detatch or find Jesus. God bless you brother!
I always thought having a kid/family would change my life. I’ve just never been in a position where I’m comfortable enough to pursue it. I avoid it. Have for decades.
I very much like seeing you doing you. Talking about how you are getting through and going forwards. I particularly like the mixture of nature and you talking. I have great respect fur all you have accomplished in the past and also now. You have not been having it easy but are making a good job of your life. Please give us a moture of you and nature in each video. All the very best.
Great video, Rob. So good of you to share your experience. We like to hear about your life because we genuinely care about you. We pray for you. We believe in you. I'm sending a gift through PayPal today and lots of love. I really thank you for sharing your life. Perhaps it can be healing for you too. I grew up with a lot of shame and poverty and it took me a very long time to share that with anyone close to me. I was 50 years old before I could share that with my best friend. People truly care about you here and some of us really get you. I hope your channel explodes with subscribers, because it's a really good one. Hang in there. Prayers that others will help you.
Rob I was born in Cortland, New York. my childhood wasn't perfect ether man parents split at age 12 I moved out on my own at age 27 best thing I ever did.
I think it's awesome how far you've come and you're doing it at your own pace. Thanks for your back story. We don't know what people have been through but always quick to give a solution. Not that easy if you really don't know that person on a personal level. Thanks again for the video as well.
Good luck! Just know there’s a lot of paths to take and a lot to learn/experience. Don’t become a statistic. And ask for help if you need it because you never know, and that’s way better than not trying and suffering.
So I headed out to the woods and started a RUclips channel and here we are .. Hey man .. alot of us are going through the same thing .. don't go getting hasty on yrself .. again , we're all still here for ya .. yr subscribers, yr viewers and forget the haters .ALL THE BEST TO YA .. KEEP KEEPING ON ...
I share a very similar upbringing with you with a sprinkling of physical abuse. I was born in 1969 so a little older than you. Just know as you get older you will put the pieces together and you will find a better understanding. Lean into the friends you have here on social media. They are in your corner and wishing the best for you. Peace.
You are an amazing human Rob and ive enjoyed getting to know you. We all are bit broken in some sense- we all have baggage, quirks, and differences. .. thats what makes us human. Keep your head up brother.
Rob - thanks for sharing all that! I appreciate your honesty and openness. I've been hoping for a while that you'd tell us more about you and your roots.
Some people can’t stand being alone for 5 minutes which is fine if you have a bunch of friends. I’m 53 and have one friend who I see about once a month and the rest of the time there is just me . I was homeless most of my adult life like you but I try to think of being able to stand my own company as a super power 🥴. I really do hope you find what makes you happy and I’m always glad to see you post , keep it up 👍
Rob....you have been through SO much....that no-one should have gone thru. 🙏 You have turned out very good, considering all you experienced Stay strong Rob....you have become a good man.praying the very best for you, Sir. Life doesn't make sense so often. Take care Rob.....you have come further than many.....with better life histories. Pulling for you. 💖😘🙏
rob stay strong, ther is no shame in your game, your past does not define you............. your efforts and future is what you make it and that defines you you are doing better in every video
I watched the nature video, I love the peace and serenity of the nature videos you share Rob. I have strange deafness, multiple sounds render me completely deaf, but I could hear the wood peckers in the last video, that was cool, I could hear the song birds and the wood peckers. Thank you, for sharing some of your history with us too, I can relate to it myself.
I'm living in my car, it's not easy, but it can be fun sometimes. I have a 7 yr old son, he enjoys staying with me some weekends. I work and look after myself. I wanted to share that with everyone. Rob I think I are just genuinely yourself. The world needs more of that. I'll keep watching your videos man. Keep em coming. 👍
I think you are so real with your life and wanting to be alone, I so sometimes feel like you do be left alone and be with animals versus people. I also love the Forrest and the ocean. Keep up the great work!
Hi Rob This is Jan from Australia. I have been watching your channel for sometime. Thank-you for sharing your story, it must have been quite difficult for you. I think it's wonderful how you are able to pick yourself up after each setback, and I'm also impressed by the caring that comes from this community. I've always been very shy, at various times of my life I've pushed myself out there to join in, but now I'm 78 and can't be bothered much, although I always smile at and greet people I meet on the street. I'm fortunate to have a lovely little house, where I spend much of my time and enjoy my various hobbies. I hope you can find somewhere to live a more settled life, if that is what you want. I'm not sure if it would be appropriate for you, but a dog is a wonderful companion and also an easy way to engage with other people in conversation, dog lovers are often really nice people
Nomad it takes an awesome man to share. So dang proud of you, 👏 Will continue to pray for you. Lots of people are just surviving. Praying for you Rob 🙏 If you making a buck delivering keep it up And posting also. B Safe buddy
Much love Rob, you kinda sound like me to a slightly more extreme extent, look into extreme independence, its a trauma response formed in childhood. Maybe you can find something you didnt even know you were looking for, that seems to be how it works for me. Again, much love Rob, good to see you again.

Much love Rob. Thank you for sharing.
Wow, Rob….I really appreciate you telling your childhood story. Only halfway thru the video. You are someone I could listen to and talk with all day!
West Virginia Veteran here....
Hope you are enjoying your visit around my state.. there are many very remote locations throughout the state, especially if you travel up the old hollows....
I’ve been through a few counties from the eastern panhandle. It is already amazing! I can’t imagine how great it is further west.
Im teetering on the edge of homelessness and my heath is keeping me from working
One day at a time, keep going too, like Rob.
Ill pray consistently
Same here brother. Stay strong.
@@nonservitium Do you know Jesus?
Thank you for giving us a look into your life rob, its refreshing to hear your thoughts and the path you walk through this strange existence.
I just seen the other videos you made. I'll watch them. I love nature and nature video's
Join His team, change your life.😊🙏
God Bless Rob, don't give up God always be with you watching her from Philippines
Shout out to Stuart L!!!! I watch all your vids dude, and multiple times. Especially the nature vids. Thank you Rob.
Thanks! Yeah that was crazy!
We love you Rob. I was a massive introvert until I started my family, without them I would be a caveman.
I had an unfortunate childhood also, and also wet the bed til late childhood 🤷♂️
Life is embarassing and challenging until you either stop caring and detatch or find Jesus.
God bless you brother!
I always thought having a kid/family would change my life. I’ve just never been in a position where I’m comfortable enough to pursue it. I avoid it. Have for decades.
I got nothing but love for you Rob.
Thanks Rob.
Hang in there, Rob - you are a survivor. I'm still blown away by how you lived in the woods in NY. I really wish I was in a position to help you.
I’m good. I posted in the community tab, and I’ll be back soon.
We have a similar story Rob I can relate in so many ways please stay safe and always look for the silver lining stay strong man god bless
I have faith that you will find your place and niche in life just keep trying.
ROB THE NOMAD
YOU DO BETTER ON YOUR OWN AND YOUR LIFE IS AMAZING. NEVER GIVE UP. ISOLATION IS NOT THAT BAD.
Nice to see your channel. Take it off. 🎉 stay with it, my Channel keeps going up and down.
My best friend is my camera too. I just don't post the videos. But, when I want to talk, my camera is the best listener.

Yeah it’s best to get away. Or be thrown away 😁
@@RobTheNomad yea man. Do you have a email?
@@MegaAfterschool It’s in the description of all of my videos.
I think it's awesome how far you've come and you're doing it at your own pace. Thanks for your back story. We don't know what people have been through but always quick to give a solution. Not that easy if you really don't know that person on a personal level. Thanks again for the video as well.
Just found your channel because I'm now homeless at the age of 41. Your videos have great insight. Thanks buddy.
Good luck! Just know there’s a lot of paths to take and a lot to learn/experience. Don’t become a statistic. And ask for help if you need it because you never know, and that’s way better than not trying and suffering.
Rob is a modern day Buddha
So I headed out to the woods and started a RUclips channel and here we are .. Hey man .. alot of us are going through the same thing .. don't go getting hasty on yrself .. again , we're all still here for ya .. yr subscribers, yr viewers and forget the haters .ALL THE BEST TO YA .. Thanks for the update Rob. Anxious to see the survival videos!
Good on you. Keep going and doing. Blessings to you friend 🙏🏴🏴😀👍.
Keep well sir.
I share a very similar upbringing with you with a sprinkling of physical abuse. I was born in 1969 so a little older than you. Just know as you get older you will put the pieces together and you will find a better understanding. Lean into the friends you have here on social media. They are in your corner and wishing the best for you. Peace.
Learning from it all is a great experience!
Your going to make it , you have overcome . Don’t blame for wanting to be alone but you got a lot of people that enjoy your video.
You have a unique story to tell and you do it very well.
You are an amazing human Rob and ive enjoyed getting to know you.
We all are bit broken in some sense- we all have baggage, quirks, and differences. .. thats what makes us human.
Keep your head up brother.
My son was a bedwetter - and I felt so badly for him but he eventually got through it. I know that wasn't easy for him or for you, Rob.
Rob - thanks for sharing all that! I appreciate your honesty and openness. I've been hoping for a while that you'd tell us more about you and your roots.
Keep going man, I love your videos and will support you by watching and liking them as much as possible.
Some people can’t stand being alone for 5 minutes which is fine if you have a bunch of friends. I’m 53 and have one friend who I see about once a month and the rest of the time there is just me . I was homeless most of my adult life like you but I try to think of being able to stand my own company as a super power 🥴.
I really do hope you find what makes you happy and I’m always glad to see you post , keep it up 👍
You had a great set-up in the woods
Keep up the good work! Don’t give up!! Praying God will bring you one good friend!
The journey is the destination Rob. Keep up the learning process and it will bring much needed satisfaction. Never stop learning.
Thanks for sharing Rob. Love your nature videos I enjoy all the different sound etc stay safe xx

Stay strong Rob....you have become a good man.praying the very best for you, Sir.
Thanks
Thank you!
Glad to hear, thanks!
Sending big hugs and love. Glad to see you.
Do what makes you feel good, do the Bushcraft, I'll definitely keep following in support.
Awesome video Rob thanks for sharing keep up the awesome work
Go Rob!
You will eventually find your way .Just keep your videos coming.

Proud of you for sticking it out and sharing your experience for us. It helps others.
Keep on truckin brother, you got this!
God is always on time!!!
Yes He is!
Keep it up brother 💪 🙏
Just keep doing what makes you happy and gives you peace
Thank you for sharing rob. Stay strong bro. ✌️👍
Hi Rob
This is Jan from Australia.
Praying for you Rob 🙏 If you making a buck delivering keep it up
And posting also. B Safe buddy
Ooh a wood pecker cool, I miss the woods so much!
Much love Rob, you kinda sound like me to a slightly more extreme extent, look into extreme independence, its a trauma response formed in childhood. Maybe you can find something you didnt even know you were looking for, that seems to be how it works for me. Again, much love Rob, good to see you again.
