Drake Maye is the King of Cool. So much maturity and poise, even when things aren't going well. I think Polk will overcome, because he cares!

I was a fan of Polk when they drafted him and such a disappoint so far. However, I recall an interview of Raymond Berry when he was the head coach of the Pats. He was asked what was the greatest lesson he learned in coaching. Without hesitation he reflected on when he was a receivers coach with the Colts. They had drafted a WR who appeared to have all the tools to be a standout. However, there was like 10% he needed to improve on. Yet, no matter what Berry tried he couldn’t fit that 10% he tried everything and to his surprise the kid got worse to the point the Colts were ready to cut him. Then one day a sports psychologist arrived to address the coaching staff. Berry said what can this guy tell me he’s never even played the game. Still Berry joined the presentation and the first thing the guy did was draw a circle on the chalk board with a small pie slice at the bottom. He then said this 90% is what we all do well and this 10% is what we do bad or need to improve. He then explained that as long as you focus on the 10% and ignore the 90% that 10% will only get worse. Berry said that simple explanation was like a light being turned on he was focusing only on the 10% not the 90% strengths. This WR I forgot who it was went on the have a really good career with the Colts and Berry said he learned to look for and utilize strengths and by doing so the weaknesses diminished. We all need to be driven by confidence in what we do well. I used this through out my career as a manager in high tech engineering, coaching, and with family and it has never failed me. I wonder if maybe this is what Polk needs to build his confidence.

It's hard being patient for young talent to develop! I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I think if we move on from Polk and he takes off somewhere else we will feel stupid. Already spent the draft pick. I say we continue to develop him

I say we keep Polk but get new WR coaches. New ones from outside the BB house. This team has had a ton of trouble developing WRs except slots. Until we get new coaches for the WR room that are proven to be able to develop young talent drafting WRs is the wrong move. Stick with drafting the positions we can develop and hit FA up for those we can't.
Also with the draft and FA it's much easier to sign a WR in FA than it is Olinemen, especially OTs. No team wants to part with good starting caliber Olinemen if they can help it. WRs on the other hand are usually in abundance in the college talent pool which means teams that can develop them are much more likely to part ways with those heading into 2nd contracts and drafting new ones to take their place, except those that are top 5 or so in the league. You don't need a top 5 or even top 8 WR to win in this league, just a consistent playmaker

To me just trade or waive all older wide receivers and play younger wide receivers next year. If they suck trade them or to the practice squad next year. Just my thoughts what do you all think?

I don't blame the recievers we've just had no one that knows what they are doing since Josh McDaniels, everyone that leaves us plays far better Agholor, Juju, Jonnu, Gesicki, Reagor.

Bourne is the best reciever we have and we just paid him

Bourne not even go be here next year if we get a receiver in the draft which we will and a receiver in free agency hopefully tee Higgins cause if we do draft a receiver and sign tee Higgins in free agency I don’t see Polk or Bourne on here no more

He’s literally the least productive WR in the entire league… my hope meter is at .01%

Polk is a bust. This isn’t the Salvation Army. He sucks. The problem is he can’t get past the first page of a 600 page playbook.

He is just not very good He was an excellent college player but he does not have the speed or quickness to get separation from NFL caliber DBs if he happens to figure it out he could be an average journeyman WR nothing more.
