@Anambra1st son thanks for this great presentation of the on-going road dualization in Nnewi which will in future drastically speed up the mega-city/state status of Anambra in no distant time. The pace of development in Nnewi is impressive and would rub off on many surrounding towns. I very wish that the Soludo administration embark on a complete clean up exercise of the state in all ramifications including the environmental sanitation and criminals aspect.
Thank you for the update. The project execution seems to be going on fast. I'm impressed with the speed of the project. Since the road won't be that wide, I pray, they put walk ways on both sides.
The last person to succumb to threats and intimidation is gov Soludo. He wants to develop Anambra state of his dreams, but it appears that he wants it to go with human face and feelings, taking into cognizance, the bitting economic situation in Nigeria today. Funny enough, many people feel happy to see their fellow human beings sorrow, and to those people, they will want the governor to demolish all the structures along the road expansion corridor. The road is a beautiful 4-lane dual carriage way, and demolishing more structures will not add anything to it.
The road is going to be a four-lane dual carriage way, only that some people feel happy to see their fellow human beings sorrow. Perhaps, they want Soludo to demolish all the buildings along the road expansion corridor to make them happy. The truth is that the governor is has determined to develop all parts of Anambra state, but he wants it to go with human face and feelings with barest minimum damages, taking into cognizance the bitting economic situation in the country today. With or without demolishing many structures,he will still achieve his intentions to make Anambra a liveable one state city. The last person to succumb to threats and intimidation is gov Soludo if you know him well. Thanks for sharing Mr Anambra 1st Son and remain blessed.
I don't know whats happening with Anambra State Ministry of Urban Planning (or its equivalent ). Everyone develops structures without proper setback, maybe these setback were never made. If they gave setbacks when developing this area, this ought to be a 6 lane road. There is also deficiency in the ministry of works, since we cannot get 6 lanes, who says the road has to be a straight line from start to finish? Certain areas (as many as possible) that are more congested need parking shoulders, so that the 4 lanes can be mainly for movement. Because I bet you that with this construction, one lane will automatically be turned to parking shoulders, leaving just one lane for moving cars, and for a congested area like this, it will be really small. It is an improvement to what is on ground, but nobody should ever call this a high way, and its not good enough, but its still an improvement
There is a lack of political will here. Many walls need to go down to make the road Morden but it seems that it will not be as standard as we thought. Remove buildings that are so close to the main roads. High ways must have space should there be an accident or trucks fail to break or fire. Soludo should be firm unless they will be bribing the contractor to do a narrow job here and the purpose will be defeated. Look at Amawbia Agulu Ekwuobia road. The structures close to the main road were all removed.
I like the pattern of buildings here it's more modern that those in other cities I hope we continue like this ❤❤
Very impressive the road will connect our town ihiala, okija to Nnewi and Awka
