I suppose in a way you are the Lucky one ,, what a story !! my father tried to kill me, he felt I was getting away at 16 to live the life he wanted , my mother told me he was a closet gay himself and it twisted him and made him sick with anger. BUT I did get away, I lived my life good and bad, my choices with its conséquences.

I hear people a lot that seem to think that if you belong to a religious denomination, like Judaism, or Islam that that identifies your ethnic heritage/group, it doesn't anymore than being Christian identifies it . It's being a member of a certain religion.sometimes in certain parts of the world there's a lot of people from that part of the world, that belong to a certain religion, but it doesn't mean if somebody identifies as a Jew, that that's their "ethnicity".

My dear mother, who has since passed away as well, prized loving her 3 sons beyond anything else (except maybe her cats?). From what I know, she had initial thoughts about the grandchildren part--but learned that focusing on the present is where you experience true joy. (Also, there was always the possibility of adoption or surrogates or in time, even two male parents, as well as taking care of grand nieces/nephews and other children.) Lastly, the perks of 3 gay sons include knowing that you will age as gracefully as possible; and that there will be a full pit crew to take care of you should you become immobile or go into the hospital for makeup, hair, wardrobe and skin care. ;-)

Sex was rampant; pre-aids. I was religious so I hid until I was 21 I had no idea of the gay world but by 1964 I found it. Now I see a different scene developing in the gay world. As messed up my life had been, I was given many great persons. I kind of messed them up, but today I am surrounded by many who love me; no gay lover, no gay husband. I grew up in a different time and traveled a different road.
