Right now, I’m trying to learn how to throw with porcelain, and many of the people I’m working around are using red clay, and it’s killing me. I’ll check all my tools, make sure the wheel and everything are cleaned, and… there’s a red contamination. Stoneware is bad too, but this red clay gets everywhere, and it’s low fire to boot.
Not dumb! At least it wasn’t red clay. 😅 Just gotta trim and toss that top later real slow, lol.

awww, tbh I think freckled porcelain would look ubercute.
So do the contaminated trimmings go in with the stoneware for recycling? Or are they wasted now?

Don't you have to carve the bottoms of all of your bowls to make a foot anyway for stability?
