In my opinion there was a huge missed opportunity to add Rex to 501st and General Veers to blizzard force. Even give the invasion force a tactical droid to balance the boxes out.
While I'm not personally interested in any of these battle forces now, I wish they had been around as a intro point when I got into the game, $150 for a full army would have been great.
The Echo base box is far and beyond the best box hands down, so much value. 2nd has to be the Droid box, you don't need to split a core anymore just buy a BF and get the essentials
Personally I feel that the separatist box was the best overall deal leaning towards new players because the purchase of two borders on the lines of competitive play and builds probably the Best of the separatist teams. The other three do not see the same Light But the rebel and clone army look to fit great with the original starter box. Empire was a major letdown in my opinion.
I agree as well. And the empire set is a big let down. As an empire player. I got the at st first with my starter set. It for my army list is the big punch and takes down most of the enemy forces while my stormies capture objectives.
Whoever built the 501st box knew what they were doing, was trying to build a competitive list and it’s almost identical to the one I was wishing I could make
Been drooling over these, rewatched so many times. Although part of me can’t help but think it’s really an AMG stock clearance of non moving old stock.
While some of the choices are thematically puzzling, I think it’s undeniable what a clue these boxes are. Separatist players looking to get more B1s can add the rest of the units in the box not much more than the cost of the base B1s, and you can make a similar cost comparison to the other 3 boxes as well. I feel there’s only a very small segment of the Legion community that truly can’t get anything out of them, and that makes these really a superb addition to the range.
Honestly, as a Rebel player, out of the Echo Base Defenders, I only have one Vet (plus Turrent) squad and Leia. So snatching up the Echo Base Defenders will be perfect for me! Chewie, R2, C3PO, 4 Rebel Vets, 2 Tauntauns (which are still amazing!), and the pizza turrent, which I always wanted to grab. And basically all of that comes around at half price. So Echo Base Defenders is a dream come true :)
The Echo Base set is amazing, and I already have just about everything in that set, just missing one Rebel Veterans unit. Oh well. Happy savings everyone!

The sets are definitely more geared towards new players or players looking to pick up a new faction. Definitely picking up the separatist set since I've only got a starter set an a separatist specialist box, just a pity it's a few months away
I love these battlepacks can't wait to pick a few of these up they'll definitely help getting more armies for the rest of the factions I don't currently own.
I’ve bought a few different unit boxes over the years as display pieces but looking to get into the game and with your breakdown on each of these boxes gives me a better idea on what to go for 👍🏻
As a new player that start with Clone wars core set and wanting to do an hoth imperial force the battleforce is exactly what i want. But for player that are here for a long time not sure it is a great deal.

Was getting ready to start a Hoth themed rebel army this summer. Thanks for making it so much easier to get started. Echo Base Defenders and 2 T-47's and ill be set. Maybe a rebel specialists box also.

My favourite bit about the box arts for Rebs and Imps is Han on Tauntaun and Snowtrooper Speederbikes. I'm definitely buying (already pre-ordered) both of those and I'm even going all out to not only expand each force but to build a Skirmish table based on the Imperial assault on Echo base. Just need to decide on how to go about it and whether I want it on a separate board or the reverse of my Endor skirmish board. Either way I plan to convert what doesn't fully fit the sets theme (short sleeve Leia, Scout bikers) to make it fit more into the setting, really push my hobby skills to their limits.
Im a tad confused by the billard force box why are there speeders and not e-webs, with 2 speeders and an atst it feels like its 1 half hoth one half endor.
I think the decision was influenced by what fans were most likely to want to use. E-webs as an emplacement have always been tricky to play, though I do agree thematically it seems pretty weird.

Did anyone else notice the descriptions on the Asmodee site are different to what's pictured on the back of the box? The Blizzard Force box description says "a unit of 74-Z speeder bikes", not 2, and more interestingly a "new unit of heavy assault stormtroopers". The Separatist Invasion force also differs.
I’m super excited for the the Echo Base box. I just started playing and grabbed a ton of GAR stuff and didn’t wanna invest that much into a whole other army.
Looking forward to getting my hands on the CIS box as soon as i can save up for it, fill out my B1 roster (8 units!), plus the maganas and droidekas are awesome, and it'll let me live my double AAT dreams!
The price point is very valuable. I've had a bunch of people want to get in but don't have someone to split a core and didn't want to play two factions. The boxes not having play tools is interesting but I think it makes it better for people who already play one faction but wanted to get into a second.
As I went with the Republic May 4th bundle here in the UK, I'll probably be getting the 501st to max out on Clones. Only downside is that I went with Anakin as the commander in the bundle, not Rex, so I still have him to pick up.
Shadow collective is still the best battleforce to get into. For $70 bucks you get started and then add Gar Saxon for $20 and one more unit of Super Commandos at $35 and that has you at $125 w/8 activations (assuming you use the merc commanders as well).
Legion is a game system that has been gathering dust in my cupboard of shame since I bought a core set on release. I missed out on the UK May 4th deal as a victim of understocking. I feel that I have benefitted from that, as everything I really want is in the Echo Base set.
In my opinion for a brand new starting player the seperatist box is by far the best, it is the equivalent of purchasing 2 of the core sets and also gives you an aat, it’s fantastic

I was coming to say the same thing. I had been a cheapskate and have both factions and I feel like it has finally worked in my favor.
Only issue is if you want Obi Wan. Only available in the core box

E-Webs would fit in nicely in this pack then they could have done a separate Endore pack with the Speeders.

Super impressed with the Rebel box. I've just gotten into the game with Empire so that'll be a great way to start Rebels as a second faction.
