Hi I thought I would just add my experience with this issue on my 420.
To deal with the drainage problem, without removing that drain plug a ran a drill up through it from underneath without removing all the under panelling. This has improved the draining out, if it blocks up just feed and twist a stiff wire into the hole and twist and wiggle it about for the water to run free.
To help prevent further ingress, check that the body seal to the window above is in good contact with the window glass, mine had a gap so to correct this I had lift the seal up tweek the body edge it sits into until the rubber seal meets the glass which has improved the ingress problem.
