- In this video I go over all the service functions and the abilities ista d and ista + has and what you can do on the new f series cars I also show you WHY its a MUST have program if you own a f series as these cars are getting more computerised everyday and everything on this car needs registering and coding and programming very very bad for people who aint up to date and dont know how to use this kind of stuff to that degree but in the reality of it this is what will make these cars cheap to buy later on in life you either learn now or you will get left behind these cars require alot now more then ever e series was easy compared to f series and anyone who owns one NEEDS THE SOFTWARE it will save you alot of money in the end and dealer trips and garages not using the right software the first time remember how many times you will pay a garage to diagnose problems and get the wrong codes constant you can do it once and rectify the problem first time round and avoid other parts falling while you wait the program will pay for itself in time especially with f series cars

Ista is the only way to go. Getting ista is the best invest I made since owning my BMW's. Dont have to worry about the fuck boys at the dealership. I diagnose, repair and code myself. I've learned so so much and still learning. Thanks Dean! SOLID👍🏾👍🏾💪🏾💯

When I start the vehicle test it displays for a second then disappears. The online connection to central services is disrupted, ISPI process service not Available
Thanks for the Video Dean! For the cable, do you HAVE to use an ICOM interface or can you use a OBD2 Enet cable straight to a laptop via a USB adapter for ethernet? I am wanting to use a newer laptop which does not have an ENET port. Thanks

I need to code the gear selector shifter.. Cause I can't not get In to park.. Stays in N all the time. When I go to ista says.. Not code or coding.. So I order new shifter selector... Same thing not code.. Or coding.. How do i do that.. Coding the unit or the shifter.. Thank a lot.
Hi I can connect to the car f11 but ista is not showing diag tree only 2 fault. This is a ex police car and they are built as police /response cars. Is this the reason

Do I need an ICOM to diagnose F-series vehicles? I have ISTA/D and it worked a couple of times without an ICOM and this morning it just stopped communicating with any F-series models.
Whats going on BMW Doctor I have 2 F10's and all software I flashed both vehicles headlight modules with E-SYS and Initialized the headlights LEDS with ISTA(D) both cars headlights are working perfectly just the High beams will not work. Im having this issue only on adaptive xenon headlights.
I have Ista+ but when trying to turn off start stop the option to add to list to code it out is greyed out.(ie not dark text)so cannot be selected.
all other subcategories are selectable, X5 40d 2016
no fault codes at start up apart from
"The battery voltage(terminal 30) above permissible threshold 14.85v value, Reduce Voltage"
don`t know if this is related to the issue or what it means ?

Hi,, BMW doctor please i need help with E53 3.0d 2003 the issue is none start,,, diagnose no fault code testing and found out that theres no pulse, and 12v at injectors,,, start with quick start,,, no diesel comming from injectoctors... please... i doing the fixing my self

What connection type would you recommend for F32 with ISTA, i currently use ENET but have a voltage issue which concerns me as it keeps coming up with voltage to high :-( never done any coding just use it for fault finding at the moment....

Dear Doctor I've a problem!
I done a software update in my X3 "X'/F25/off-road vehicle/X3 xDrive20d/N47/AUTO/ECE/LL/2011/04" using ISTA-D and ENET cable. The update was started and was stopped after a few minutes. The car was gone in Transport Mode and now 3 ECU are in error and not working. I don't understand if the working ECU are update or viceversa. Can you help me? Sorry for my English. Thank in advance!

Doc, i was wondering why there are so many video’s about using ISTA+ to program/code F series but it fails. When it fails they use ESYS. So ESYS is better than ISTA+? Kinda weird to me
No you need the files to do it what year f series are you doing it will not do it and what version are you running

Damn good Dean. I'm reviewing your vids on Ista to beat my DME fault. The MAF is rock solid now cleaned it. Fuel trims are better but it still get fuel trims jump on the short terms just enough to set pending. I'm not going to guess but test with ista too many vids an forums where the parts cannon have been shot. ISTA is the only way to go. Even mid range scanner give you direction but thats it !!!! I'm trying to catch up from 1984 technology. Should have keep playing with ista been no faults until now shame on me. Keep them coming. Love them info. 👍👍👍👍👍

Can you do a video on how to programme the I Drive to store the service history? I know that this can be done showing dealer 0000 . Of course , I realise that this history will be deleted when visiting the bmw dealership as their system is on lineand will over ride it.

Hey bro, i don't have icom, is it because of lack of icom, that "software update" button is not visible also when I plug in F series cars onto ista P and I get a error saying something like it's no longer available to code this car with ista p. Please clarify it for me. Thanks
That is correct you do not use ista p with F SERIES any longer you can’t do everything via ista + but you need a icom do not even accept the measure plan without one as you cannot go back and f you stop it while it’s doing it you will brick your car

E system maybe your ista is very very old as you should be seeing
updates programming inside your ista if not that means your ista is old version and doesn’t support f series
@@BMWDoctor Thanks bro, my current ista P version is 3.66.0.200 and ista+ version is 4.18.14.18535 (date 06.09.2019). I'm able to diagnostic on F series with ista + but software update button is not available and ista p on F series doesn't work says no longer available you gotta use ista 4 or something

Starter motor yes that requires REGISTRATION only
As for alternators I didn’t see anything on there but I will check again and let you know I believe they do
Window regulator is a no that don’t need coding mate why would your window regulator fail already on a f series ??????? Mate that stuff don’t happen here we don’t get them fail on e series here so how is a window regulator failing in a f series already
ZGM and BDC is not responding but all other modules responding - what witch craft is this, bugged version of ISTA?
thats what happens when you get a cloned version and not from a authorised seller as myself
@@BMWDoctor but that com failure is on your video, so I presume your using same cloned version you'r talking about. There is two ways control module goes yellow - no power supply to it, or module bricked it self - on your video and other ones I notice, every time control module has a fault it turns yellow - in this case ZGM/BDC (both are the same contronl unit) on fault memory has FlexRay fault and on HU-H has function limitation faults - both faults are informational and nothing to do with com of control modules

Oh yes mate stepping up the game ain’t the word but I mean starter motor registration who would nick a starter motor well people didn’t then but if there doing this crap and charging untold for it people will start nicking them now I think it’s got stupid now registering every part on the car

Dean, Is there any chance for a coolant flush + electric water pump bleeding procedure VIDEO in the near future (I assume same procedure for F and E series) ? There are many videos and guides online but no 2 identical ones. Some parts are confusing , other are unclear. You've mentioned that incorrect procedure can kill the pump in your older videos :)
That’s correct yes it can and I haven’t seen ANYONE do the procedure correct do you know WHY because there all DIYERS and not mechanic trained and dealer trained otherwise they would mate I will be doing it on the n52 engine just wait that’s something that’s coming the b47 f series mate doesn’t use electric pump anymore mate they got rid of it because of the amount of problems bro
@@BMWDoctor Thanks Dean. I will await. I want to put OEM coolant in mine by none of the DYI's out there make me feel confident about the whole procedure. I hear that even the new B58 inline 6 petrol has gone back to the mechanical pump. I had N55 engine in my mind when mentioned F series (2013) : )

Oh mate I’m done with e46 now mate way done bro that was a one off I tried it on my channel but don’t have that many subs for that stuff that’s Nathans side my subs are mostly N52 guys E60 E61 mate If you go via my videos it tells you who I have subscribed just by the views lol every n52 video has thousands m54 are still in the hundreds
