    In LightBurn, you can pick up where you left off by using the Preview, moving the slider to the last engraved/cut position, and selecting "Start Cut from Here" (or however it's actually worded).

    Suggest you buy a UPS (uninterruptible power supply) aka battery backup large enough to handle you laser engraver, that way no matter the reason for power failure, breaker, lighting, etc your laser will keep going for as long as the battery will last.

    We do a weekly community craft/farmers market. This has been our segway to local downtown businesses. But we love the idea of chamber of commerce relationships and networking to obtaining the race metals that are repeatable business!!! Eye opener was the tip to design Good, Better, Best and WOW in order to increase the chances of being within their budget and getting the contract.

    use guide pins to position the material: use the laser to mark your bed, drill a hole, and use the laser to cut holes in the same place in your material, then drop pins to get positioning perfect

    Very cool! Never thought of making medals out of wood :D May I ask, the beautiful door signs you make - how do you protect them from the weather? I'm petrified of using MDF 🙈🙈

    Can I ask - did you guys have to sand the wooden tops? Like from engraving char? Wondering how sanding 500 of them would be and if you had any tips for streamlining that.

    • @KimandGarrettmakeit
      @KimandGarrettmakeit  2 месяца назад

      Nope, no sanding. All of the backs we painted and then cut. All of the tops of the medals came off by the sheet (we used tabs to hold them into the board), slid them on to cardboard, quick clear coat with a spray gun, under the fans for 30 minutes, then over to the jigs for glue assembly, over to someone looping the lanyard through. We ran 60 medals on each laser. We had three 55x36" lasers running and it took 3 runs.
