    Super helpful video. For anyone seeing this in 2024 and beyond... In the end I didn't need to undo the 3 screws. Just popping off the top cover was enough to give me access to the holes behind the wheel to release the airbag.

    Im stuck how you knew you were fitting wheel straight? Did a mk2 scirocco and took a few attempts (after going out driving)

    • @RossPerryProductions
      @RossPerryProductions  2 года назад +1

      Hi Gary, with a lot of fords like the fiesta there is a hex drive from the steering wheel therefore there is only 6 positions the steering wheel can go in so its pretty easy. With other brands there is often a spline which as you say can take a while to get right just moving it a spline at a time, and testing it.

    • @RossPerryProductions
      @RossPerryProductions  4 года назад

      Hi there Andy, I usually change them when the steering lock is on so you know it came off the same as it went off, as the fords use a hex nut over s spline there is no small adjustment. therefore the steering tracking may need adjusting to correct it. I hope that helps. Ross

    • @RossPerryProductions
      @RossPerryProductions  2 года назад +1

      With the fords the steering wheel drive is a hexagon so it can only go in 6 positions which makes it pretty easy. Other cars have a spline which is harder.

    • @RossPerryProductions
      @RossPerryProductions  6 лет назад +2

      Hi there Sophie, not a problem at all, what this means is there is an issue with the airbag or the sensors within the system, therefore the system is turned OFF. The airbag will not suddenly go off, but would also not go off in the event of a crash. This is very common in older cars. A garage could run some tests and see what item is at fault. I hope that helps. Ross
