Random P-Groove tidbit:
A successful parry gives your next attack extra frame advantage. So, in situations where you parry up close, you're able to do certain links that are otherwise not normally possible.

But the parry pause isn’t the same as 3S, meaning your opponent can block or react as well as your not guaranteed a lot, if anything. Low attack timing is much harder than it needs to be and unless they major whiff or you have a total invincible startup move (like Vice’s 214+P) this groove is borderline worthless. EO isn’t even considered so this is not a point.

@@Ramsey276one So the reason for this is that when you parry a character there is a number of frames of frame stop for the parry animation. When you parry a projectile, only you are affected by the frame stop, the opponent is not. The "Finest K.O." screen has to be the most hypest thing ever created in a fighting game.

i think the ultimate lesson is its not worth parrying fireball supers or supers that let the user move before the move finishes

Kaiser Knuckle OST that's a deep cut Desk.
The morrigan section was crazy.
Also the name changes were pretty great, especially the message at the end
Would love to see Desk take on more SNK fighters, especially Garou to see what kind of sauce he cooks up with just defends, the way counter hits work, and the usual choreographed shenanigans.
A video on the Art of Fighting games or Fatal Fury 2/Special would be interesting.

😮 really? I know cap vs snk had alot of "rivial" start animations but i haven't seen them all so ones like Akuma n Iori or morgan and yuri was surprising also terry and guile lol thats just silly
@@LdarkkratosYeah, some of them don't really have rivals period, like Morrigan and her ancient sprite and poor, poor Kyosuke. Otherwise it mostly fits.
Oh look, more proof as to why CVS2 was really the best game of the "Big 3" from that era of Capcom.
No disrespect to 3S and MVC2, but this game is just the one.

I was huge into the FGC around this time, imo the golden age of fighting games. Nobody really ever used P groove, but man was I a huge fan of it. Just felt like it was underappreciated. My friend and I had a discussion around that time, why P groove didn't have EX moves, and if it did, it would probably be the best groove in the game. There was just WAY too much work involved in making ex moves for every character in the game - they'd have to do more than make them flash yellow, they'd have to give each move new properties. Would be cool if the mod community went after it like they do UMVC3 nowadays :D

This game is crazy in that any other game, where a block ends a ranbu/autocombo super after the dash impact, the super would also end when you parried the dash. In THIS...the super KEEPS GOING AND ALL HITS NEED TO BE PARRIED. Crazy AF...
CVS2 anything is always a win.

I had the PAL version on ps2 and never heard that. Was also called Dramatic KO iirc.
Seeing CvS2 at the default speed is always so jarring. Awesome video though!! Curious what a K-Groove video would like from you. I remember learning to JD Sagat's Fierce SRK and Joe's Double Cyclone Super as a teen.
