    This song was a play on Beauty and the Beast with a hint of Phantom of the Opera and Dracula.
    Meatloaf was the king of Rock Opera. Every song tells a story and takes you on a ride. The tempo changes get your heart racing then slows down then picks you right back up again.
    The guy was a master.

    Meatloaf was an amazing singer/performer, but without Jim Stienman, the songwriter, this iconic classic wouldn’t exist. They made a hell of a pair. Paradise By The Dashboard Light will blow your socks off. Found out from someone else’s post the video girl lip synced and another woman sang in I Would Do Anything For Love. Objects In The Rear View Mirror May Appear Closer Than They Are (official video) is a heartbreaker.

    Meat loaf - one of the greatest rock stars ever. I've seen him for the first time in a movie THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW back in 1997 on a finnish TV -
    I was 14 years old.
    Also i have some of his albums on CD's and c-tapes and still looking for the LP's.
    Meat Loaf bats out of Hell.
    R.I.P. Meat Loaf 😼🤘

    I truly believe that there isn't a feeling that you can't find a Meatloaf song for, and his music has always been therapy for me. Thank you for this, these reactions are therapy for me. Meatloaf has a huge range, too. He's got humor and passion which make the songs way better than they might otherwise be. I know there are probably going to be a lot of recommendations for his music. Rather than so the usual songs that everyone loves, I'm going to recommend the following:
    Rock'n'roll Dreams Come Through
    The Razor's Edge
    Blind As A Bat
    Read 'Em And Weep
    What About Love
    Cry Over Me
    Objects In the Rearview Mirror
    *He also does a really good version of the Celine Dion song "It's All Coming Back To Me Now"
    While his most popular songs are very good, I've connected to so many of his lesser known songs the most.

    • @LongandWeirdName
      @LongandWeirdName Год назад

      Here's a feeling that you probably won't find a Meatloaf song for... It's a complicated one.
      Anger at a beloved artist for allowing his political views and buying into scientifically illiterate fearmongering take him away from you and every other fan of his, not to mention his family, way before his time.
      All it took was a few nearly painless shots, keeping a coffin's distance from other people, disinfecting his hands, and wearing face protection, but apparently... he won't do that. For love... For survival... For anything.
      That stubborn oaf would still be alive if he didn't let some greedy people pushing a false narrative for publicity and book sales and their blind acolytes drip poison in his ears.

    • @phoenixfire124
      @phoenixfire124 Год назад

      @@LongandWeirdName not really sure why you felt the need to get political on a discussion about the man's talent and how wonderful his songs are. Everyone had a choice at that time. I don't begrudge anyone their decision as everyone had to make a decision and deal with the consequences. I'm also not really sure why (judging from the tone of your comment) you are so angry. From some of the phrasing it sounds like you weren't a fan? I may be wrong because I can't read intentions in a random comment if they are not spelled out. I don't care how he died because I didn't know him personally. I do care about his music because I know how great that was. No one will be able to take his spot as my all-time favorite singer and Steinman as my favorite song writer.

    • @LongandWeirdName
      @LongandWeirdName Год назад

      @@phoenixfire124 Jim Steinman was indeed a great writer. A genius of evoking emotional response by hints and ommissions. Making listeners dig into their own memories and emotions to interpret his lyrics, thus making them connect more.
      The technique is probably most noticeable in the It's All Coming Back to Me Now you've mentioned. And giving the chance to cover the song to Celine was a brilliant move. Not my favorite of hers, but close(that spot is reserved for a Horner And Jennings gem known as Then You Look at Me).
      And Michael(Actually Marvin, but poor fat Marvin can't wear Levi's. If you know, you know.) Aday was a brilliant singer. Sadly, I can't seem to separate the artist and art from the person and get angry at him, the people who tricked him into making that mistake, and wonder what else he'd have given us if he didn't choose to risk it and leave so abruptly. If he was given a chance to record that 2022 album...

    His uncle introduced him to A LOT of music that became his influences as he grew up and became the artist that he became. I will always remember him telling me that Meatloaf made him realize that it is perfectly ok to be a musical hellion on wheels lol.

It's one of those songs where you just can't sit still, you have to jump up and keep jumping with the song but still has a deep meaning (like when you're deep in your cups and just need someone for the night and they become a 'dead ringer for love')
