I have tip for you, I have worked on weeled excavator for a few year, you dont want to put the blade down exept you are going to use the blade to push stuff, reason is that it will make you more unstable since it create a tiping point under the midle of it. another on is to upp trailer hitch on the blade so you can have the trailer attached to the exavator, it make jobs like this much easer :)
It could be done, might take a lot longer than using CAT 323 or similar. It works the same as most excavators, you just need to be careful in mud so you don't get stuck. Thanks!

@@driftlessinwi how do you cross over a ditch using a wheel excavator ? You probably need to do that when doing house footings I think
