It’s one of the hardest things a person can do. People like to think it’s so easy but they haven’t been through it just can’t understand. IMO one of the worst parts about pain killer addiction is many people got addicted because of a medical problem and never ever would have become addicted if it wasn’t for the medical problem. Most people I know that are or were addicted to painkillers/opioids all started from a medical problem. Even people that are very strong will get addicted if they take them long enough to get sick when they stop taking them and before you know it ur not taking them to get high ur taking them to feel normal to not feel sick. People have no problem with their tax money going to pay for cops, border patrol and everything involved with the war on drugs but people do not want to help addicts they think addicts are the devil but that’s all completely wrong the drug dealers are the devil! We need to offer free rehab and help addicts restart their lives after rehab. Then we force the medical industry come up with much better non narcotic pain killers this is the key to helping people never get addicted because so many people get addicted from medical issues all of this will help current addicts get off drugs and avoid people from ever becoming addicted so over a few years we would absolutely see a massive drop in opioid deaths and addicts. The only reason why drugs come into this country is because we have drug users! You can’t win a war on drugs by putting drug dealers, drug mules in prison the only way to really make an impact is getting the drug addicts off drugs and stop people from ever getting addicted in the first place! If people don’t do drugs then there would be no drugs coming into the country again they only come into the country because we use them. Every drug dealer that goes to prison there is another dealer taking over that dealers spot the next day there will always be another dealer, gang, cartel just waiting to take over. Some countries give people the death sentence if caught with drugs but people still do them and dealers still sell them because the drugs are strong and there’s soo much money for them to make. I’m way too scared to go to jail plus I value my freedom too much and I don’t want to be responsible for ruining peoples lives so I could never even think about dealing drugs but I can see how some people that have the balls to risk their life’s to do it because they make so much money and easy money. Many people grew up super poor then they start selling drugs and then they have the money to buy anything they want. Man I wish drugs were never invented such a terrible thing. Alcohol really is a very bad drug too IMO many people I know go to the bar and/or drink at home basically as their hobby that’s what they do for fun and they think I’m weird because I don’t drink anymore but once you stop drinking for a while you realize you were wasting ur life and money drinking you wake up in the morning feeling great and after a few months you will not miss drinking anymore you will look back like why did I drink?

New Year’s Eve 2023. Tomorrow on Monday I will be two weeks sober After years and years and years of battling alcoholism. I finally got to the point to where I was mentally ready to say enough is enough and walk away.
    I quit cold turkey.
I don’t even crave alcohol anymore. I no longer have a taste for it. Which is crazy because I used to drink alcohol for breakfast about 5:30 AM almost every morning I would start first thing.
2024 is the year to open a new door

I’m So happy for Mike for how far he’s come, for his beautiful family, successful business and almost 7 years of sobriety! I was also addicted to opiates for ten years before I was able to stop.
