Thanks Joe! I'll have to remember that next time I cut something down! I have a few more "timberrrr!"-worthy trees to cut so I'll have the opportunity - I'll have to make sure the camera is rolling.
wow, great edit, (more work, setting up the camera, tripod , starting and stopping, than wracking some brush), good job ,,, Need to get yr wife/friend to shoot B roll,,, new house, new energy, cool,,, : - )
Haha! You got that right! Fooling around with the camera was the biggest part of the job... the most fun part, too. I actually hacked down a lot more bushes after this, but I would have never finished if I had filmed it all. I definitely intend to recruit my wife for some of the camera work in the future as I plan to capture more of the process out here. Thanks for watching!
Hey Mike! Yeah, we had shaped them earlier this spring, but we decided we wanted them to be fuller close to the ground. So our friend that knows a lot about plants told us to hack them down to a few inches tall. Everything grows like mad here. We plan to add a bunch of plants to fill in, as well. I need to dress up that porch with some kind of latticework, too.
@@mbacarellaguitar yessir, we need to do that! Let me know if you’re ever down in this area. If not, I’m up the ATL on occasion... we should coordinate.
Love this!!! Can’t wait for episode #2!!! You’re so talented, capable, and creative!
Good stuff. Would have loved to have heard a timberrrrr when those trees came down. Safety first.

I thought those shrubs looked pretty good as-is. What's the plan for the front of the house?
