Sequencers in general need a big overhaul. Longer sequences in pattern, or like alternate sequences similar to Finger. Also, we need to be able to sync sequencer playback to global transport when NOT in record mode, to try out ideas in time with other ideas before recording.
A TE style Granular Synth engine (whatever that means!) I would really appreciate a second envelope and LFO, as well as better midi implementation to control parameters. Using the midi lfo is so limited, it should just be a setting in the menu & let you use another lfo.
Bro more control over samples would be incredible. Pitch shifting as well as increasing the game on all chops would be so helpful. Have you tried the method of recording sample to tape, making adjustments, then lifting / dropping it to the sample page? That’s a decent workaround
Im with you here I never chop samples on the op1 f because I am so used to koala sampler which is 10000x more fun and intuitive. some updates to chopping samples on here would be SUPER beneficial
Midi CCs, Granular Synth, Drone Synth, 8 tracks per Tape, Multitrack Out, Better Sequencers, Time Stretch, Auto Chop, Skip Back or Retrospective 20 second recording option and more Natural Instrument Sounds. I shall say it for the millions that are saying it…UNDO.
Natural instrument sounds would be special. Even if they were multi samples. I guess we could always add our own? Maybe I should sample some of my favorite nord piano sounds … and better sequencers 🤌🏾🤌🏾
You can do both granular type stuff with the sample engine and the tombola, using the random LFO also helps. If you want a drone you could use the hold seqencer. Not sure if 8 tracks would be possible, would be cool if we got another tapestyle with that feature. Another way to sample would be fun yeah.
I would love to have MultiTrack over USB be available for the Field. Allow us to track all 4 Tracks I/O in our DAWS on iOS and macOS. Would be a great way to record 4 tracks in real time instead of 1 at a time like we do right now.
like you said having multiple audio sources in, and i want another way to sample and better sample engine feature, making the engine faster too use. Maybe a sample builder where you can choose sounds of the tape and send them directly to a new sample patch.
A simple UNDO button would undo a large quantity of my skepticism towards TE's ideological synth design. There's a lot to be desired on the OP-1f but if I had to choose one thing it would be a proper Undo function.
I totally hear you. A part of me wants an undo button and the other part doesn’t. I plan to do an episode of my podcast geared around deliberate design decisions for the field like no undo / quantize … going to interview someone from the team
@@Khordmaster I must admit, the lack of an undo button has forced me to develop my musical timing. I'm more concerned for when you do mistakes like recording over the wrong track or accidentally tapping the rec button when you're jamming. I always make copies of my tracks and put them further down the tape recorder time line in case of a mistake. Very time consuming.
@@ZidaneA I agree. It slows down the creative process not having an undo button. Plus if I’m making a drum track with separate parts I don’t wanna record in over a track a hundred times to get it right for one slightly off note.
Really surprised it can't already (unless I'm missing something), arm Rec but have it only start when audio plays (perhaps have a threshold setting). That way I can get loops to start exactly on a bar.
Op-1 Field is so close to being perfect. They NEED to update the drumsampler. Lazy chop (by holding the scissor button while playing the sample from the first key (F), then pressing the next keys to add chops), Pitching all the chops at the same time, and last but the most missed is a normal ADSR envelope!!! (By holding shift and pressing the envelope button to choose between the "good" old dynamic envelope and a ADSR one). Also, the new merge feature would be even greater if you could choose wich tracks you want to lift at once instead off one or all (Holding the tracks you want to lift before pressing lift button).
The Pattern sequencers needs to be more than one Bar. We need at least 4 bars.

for me that better midi implementation would be huge. I want to use it with ableton on my laptop but can't because of its midi config limitations!
Pitch all sample chops at once, multitrack and a new standard sequencer .

This 1000%. They've proven they can make an incredibly intuitive sequencer with KO II. Not a single one compares to the OP-1f's.
@@Khordmaster Oh nice no I haven't but I definitely will give it a shot now . Thank you!
Lazy Chop Should be job #1. The sample slicing on the OP-1 / 1f is just the most neglected thing.
Well they proved they can do it on the EP-133. So hopefully they would add that to the OP-1 Field.

@@jimicrumb3700 granular like vs a granular synth where you can sample into it and adjust the speed and grain size is a world of difference.
@@jimicrumb3700 8 tracks is very possible but would require some “teenage engineering.” 🥁
What would you like to see come to the OP-1 field?

Would be dope!
I hope they do it for you ❤
me too!

I hope this video reaches TE and they actually listen.
I’m gonna share it with my contacts there 😎

An Electric Piano / Rhodes synth, but with that extra cool TE style… especially now that we’ve got that distortion effect
Okay now that would be DOPE

Also a way to shorten the length of tape "reels" so you can store more individual projects
like having 12 3 min reels instead of eight 6 min ones.. interesting!
I like all of this lol... I think we can all expect many more over updates over the years!
That Ethiopia pour over sounds amazing!
Haha it’s incredible imma get one shortly lol
iOS and Android App to load samples and sounds to and from.
At least six tracks and more sounds and 8 bar patterns
