Not a ghost story. But as a child I felt someone sit on the end of my bed. When I looked up it was a young man, sat staring into their hands. Shaved head wearing a hooded top. Years later I came home from uni, sat on the end of my bed and started reading some text messages on my phone. I had recently shaved my head and was wearing a hooded tracksuit. It was the exact scene I saw as a child around 13 years earlier. It is my most vivid childhood memory. Strange world.
Omg, I've got the chills reading that. In the late 1970s, and newly married. My husband was due home from work around 10.30pm. I was sat in bed reading alone in the house. I heard what I thought was him walk up the stairs, then bathroom door opened and him going into the bathroom! Then it went strangely quiet, so I called out his name several times and got no response. I thought this is strange so I went to look. He wasn't there! So I went downstairs, front door was still locked and his car wasn't outside. So I sat on the sofa, my head spinning from what had just happened. Then 5 minutes later he pulled up in the car. It was as though his spirit had got home before him, or someone's spirit had! Another time he had fallen asleep on the sofa watching TV after I'd gone up to bed! He told me in the morning that he'd been woken up by "someone" pushing and thumping on the back of the couch. No one there, he hurriedly run up to bed, feeling rather frightened by his experience.
This is indeed a unique experience...Seeing what you would look like after 13 years is indeed very rare...I don't know if there is a scientific name to this particular ability to see your future self, but it is just extraordinary....
We lost my Dad 6 years ago, my sister used to visit her mother in law at a nursing home and one of the residents used to come and chat to her and one day he came over and whilst chatting said to her could he tell her something to which she said f course, he told her that my Dad was watching over her and that he had visited her recently and sat on her bed. My sister got chills because a couple of nights before she had been asleep and woke up because she felt someone sit on the bed but there was no-one there! This man didn't know our Dad had passed!
I lived with my Grandparents. Anyway my Grandad died. About a week later, l came home from work about 6 on a summer evening, sun shining bright.I then went to my bedroom to get changed. As l was walking into my bedroom, what l saw stopped me dead in my tracks. My heart stopped. Stood right in front of me was my grandad putting clothes into a wardrobe. He turned around and looked me straight in the eye, and said " hello James!" I was totally frozen. " he then said, " im ralph, your grandads twin brother!" (Identical). I dont think l could speak for an hour.
@@limpethead It happened to a cousin who lost his grandpa. He was shocked when he saw his identical twin the day after his grandpa was burried. I was with him. I knew he had a twin broteher so I wasn't surprised, but my cousin juste completely forgot about it. We were both 14 years old.
Day my dad passed we said our goodbyes and i went back to his house our family home . My dad was of ill health for a long time and we had the front room adapted for him all one level. I went back to clean the kitchen .I won't go into details and then settled on the sofa early hours to get a bit of sleep . Uncontrollable grief and sadness overwhelmed me . I was woken at about 6 am to the sound as we usually hear my dad feet patting across the kitchen floors to make a drink . I shouted are you OK???? Just to remember ..he wasn't. I was so sure he was in the kitchen Later that day we took his van while I travelled back to my home as we set off The overwhelming smell of brut aftershave and pipe tobacco overwhelmed the van . Travelling down the motorway twice I heard in my left ear it'll be OK you will be OK Miss my mum and dad every single day
thats not crazy at all-when my step dad died I heard him talking as I came out of a sleep at my parents house. At first I thought he was talking to my mom untill I realized he was gone. I was awake when I heard this.
That's heartfelt and I hope you got comfort in your messages, it's so hard when our parents are gone, it's weird isn't it? I often dream about mine, I have had hugs with my dad and exchanged love yous with him in dreams, I've liked to think it was some spiritual connection and not just a dream. Best wishes to you 🤗
I get told by psychics that my dad says not to worry so much, it’ll be ok. I don’t know if I believe, but I do know that’s what my sister and I told my dad as he was passing away in front of us, it’ll be okay. ALS, 1987 😔
I have had a few strange encounters my mum belived me whan i told her as she belived in things like this.. encounters that did not frighten me (except one) but i now learn to also listen to my inner voice when somethingn is trying to tell me something.
My grandfather died when my mother was only 7. Fast forward 40 years my brother was going through a really tough divorce. His daughter was only about 4or5. After my grandmother died we were going through her pictures. She grabbed his picture all excited and said "this is the man who's been sitting in my bedroom!" she wasn't afraid or scared apparently it gave her comfort.
My grandmother on my mother’s side passed away a few years before I was born. I used to wake up with her sitting on the foot of my bed throughout my entire life. I still think it was her that woke me up and saved me from a fire a couple of years back. A woman’s voice, a very insistent voice, told me it was time for me to wake up. Now. Our hot water tank had a leak that had started an electrical fire, which was immediately handled with very little damage.
That ghost is sometimes seen in a nearby tube station, dressed in a top hat and dark evening wear. He came into the office at the station and told an official on duty who he was, that he was mirdered at the theatre. and that ''I cannot rest.'' As the vid states, he has been seen many times in the theatre, and has occasionally given the same explanation about not being able to rest. Poor chap.
I was at a friend's house helping him decorate it. His wife had left him 5 years prior and tbh the house had lost all its love, it was now cold, just a house and not a home after she'd gone. Anyway, to cheer him up, as I say, we started decorating it. We started in the bathroom. My own son was with us and was about 6 at the time. We gave my son a saucer of paint, a paint brush and a spot to paint. My friend was tongue and grooving another wall In the bathroom and I was painting the door architrave which, bc it was an old house, was quite deep about 30cm wide. I was sat in the door frame, blocking the whole door, concentrating hard on the gloss painting, as I didn't want the lines to show. The radio was on and we were all singing intermittently, having a laugh. Anyway time passed, and this door frame was huge. I must have lost all sense of time, focusing on the gloss painting, and was in a daze like state. . At some point during this time my eyes wandered off, and I kind of side eyed to the right of me, which was the landing area. There on the landing was stood a man clear/solid as anything. He was leaning over the banister looking down the stairs, I saw everything he was wearing from his cap (the peek on the cap put the face in shadow though) to his hacking jacket (leather elbow patches) his moleskin pants and Tan leather Chelsea boots (i could see the black elastic on the boots). All very typical country attire. As I looked sideways, prob for about 5 seconds, I thought it was my friend, and somehow he'd slipped behind me in the door way and made his way on to the landing. Thinking no more, than it was my friend , I continued to paint i dont know how long for. It wasn't until my friend said (from inside the bathroom) "put the kettle on love I'm parched here, and you're blocking the door with your fat rse" that I realised what I'd just witnessed...I turned immediately and in shock to the landing area, but the man had completely vanished.....I then turned to my friend, who commented that I had gone very pale and odd looking, so consequently took me downstairs. When I told him what I'd seen, he admitted, he often felt something weird in the house esp at the top of the stairs but hadn't ever seen what it was... The thing is though, if my friend had been down the stairs at the time, I, to this day wouldn't have realised id seen a ghost ...... and it made me wonder, how many strangers I've actually walked past in the street who aren't here anymore......x
Your experience is fascinating and I agree that we probably don't realise that those we often see are not of this world. I'm a little confused though as to how you assumed the man was your friend when you provided such a clear and detailed description of him and what we was wearing. Presumably your friend wasn't dressed like that?
A few years ago I did the very interesting Wartime Tunnels tour at Dover Castle, where there's an underground hospital, telephone exchange, map room etc. I just happened to be at the end of the line as the guide did a sharp right into another tunnel when standing in front of me was a soldier holding a clipboard. He was in ww2 regulation uniform (I've checked) and as the group disappeared up the other tunnel, he looked up, then looked straight at me, did an about turn, and walked straight through the solid chalk wall behind him! Dumbstruck, I didn't move for a few seconds but quickly ran to catch the tour group up. I wanted to shout about what I'd seen but never said a word. However, on an online site about a year later I found that I hadn't been the only one to see this soldier. Never forgotten it.
Thats awesome-was he like a spector or full color person? I was there in those same tunnels last year. Im going back in October to do the ww2 at normandy tour. Cant wait
One night my brother saw shadow people in our dining area having a feast. Utensils floating in the air, faucet with flowing water, shadow people smoking and serving food and drinks like there was an actual feast. The three of us siblings heard all the noise of the water hitting the stainless sink, utensils banging on ceramic plates and like wet market vibe noise and we were in our room. My brother shouted in fear and the shadow people left without a trace. We went out of the room and asked our brother about the noise and he replied black figures eating and dining. Our parents didn’t hear a thing. It was a shared experience for us four siblings.
I saw a black figure with a friend. It was human in size and shape, with no discernable features, and blacker than the night. It walked through a group of friends sitting around the fire in the early hours. I had eyes on it for around four seconds before I lost sight of it. I was an Athiest at the time, so this experience was quite unwelcome, though strangely it didn't spook me out. My friend said 'did you see that?' and I said 'yes'. And then we carried on talking.
Amazing encounter! I've seen 3 black shadow figures. All these encounters were when I was alone in my house and at one time at work. I was walking towards an empty room at work, no one around! As I got near to the entrance of that open door, I stopped because I sensed someone was about to walk out. And a tall black figure suddenly walked out in front of me and vanished. Another time, early morning! I was checking my hair in a mirror on the landing, when suddenly I went freezing cold from feet up, (it was a warm summer) Then I saw it! A black human shape to my left, and it zoomed straight through me and I instantly went even colder as it passed through. Another time I saw a shadow figure, the height of say a 5 Yr old child! I saw it run very fast across my kitchen wall. Definitely not a shadow from outside or anything like that. My granddaughter was around 3 and at my house, just me and her! I was sat on the sofa and she was stood in front of me talking about something. Then suddenly she just started looking at the wall behind me, and was frantically waving and saying hello man hello man! I asked her what he was wearing? She said "white" and had dark hair. But she was definitely pleased to see whoever she was seeing. First time as a toddler she went up my stairs to use my bathroom, she peeped into my bedroom then used the bathroom. She came out and looked into my bedroom again before we went downstairs, and said "Nana Where's the baby in the cot gone" 😮.
If it was only your brother who actually saw these supposed shadow people, do you ever consider that your brother might have been playing a trick on you? Its very easy to make noises and wet some plates.
I've regularly seen shadow figures at my place of work, they move around the workshop like ordinary people, the first time I noticed one I thought it was a colleague, when I turned directly to see who it was it vanished before my eyes. This particular workshop is only used for one particular task or process, so it sits empty quite a lot. After I started working for the company and I'd been using the workshop steadily for a couple of months on and off one of my colleagues asked me "have you seen the ghosts?" Because he was terrified of being there on his own and refused to work there by himself, I just said yes and left it at that. I have found that turning to look at them directly makes them disappear, but I have studied them in my peripheral vision, on one lunch break for about five minutes. I don't see them anywhere else, so it appears that the phenomena is unique to that location. Sadly my company has now closed that workshop and sold it on, so my visitors from elsewhere are at an end.
yrs ago we lived in a old terrace my daughter would run ahead down to our house after school as kids do . one day she ran down n ran straight back to me screaming n crying clearly shook up , I asked what was up and she told she she had looked through the letterbox n said she saw a group of people sat round the dining table eating food but they all had scary faces. she was about 6 at the time. she's 32 now and still swears to this day that is what she saw. we used to hear odd noises but never saw anything.
"What a load of hairy old baboon testicles." - Me A believer should require proof or (at the very least) subjectively sufficient evidence to internally support their own beliefs. Otherwise, they have no reason to genuinely believe them and all they're doing is playing make believe. A person who does not currently believe may simply not have been presented with sufficient evidence (let alone actual proof) to support a change in their beliefs.
Same thing happened many years ago in my home, my dad had recently died and we were having a family gathering .There was an emty chair in the corner and my little niece kept asking who the man was.I knew of course.
@santinoalfredo390 some would also say that it's hard to trust someone who doesn't know that Pauline is a woman's name. Also you need an apostrophe in 'cant' as it's a contraction of the words 'can' and 'not.' Try not to be a smartypants. Just a suggestion.
My 4 year old son once said to me “who’s that man?” I replied “ what man?” And he said “ that man up there who said hi” ( pointing to upstairs ) we were the only two in the house .
Eleven years ago when my granddaughter was three, she was going down the stairs in my house, holding on to my eldest daughters hand, one at a time. She went down three stairs then suddenly stopped. She was looking at the bottom of the stairs and put her fingers to her mouth (something she always did when shyness came over her) and refused to go another step. My eldest daughter said "come on then," but she refused shaking her head so my daughter asked her what was wrong and my granddaughter asked "who is that man?". My daughter was puzzled as was I so my daughter asked her "what man?" and my granddaughter said whilst pointing at the bottom of the stairs "that man there". We couldn't see anyone but we were both 100% sure my granddaughter did see a man. 100% true story.
My cousin's little boy said that he had seen his Papa waving in his bedroom window at him. Trouble was Papa had died two months previous, and the bedroom window was on the third floor.
My only experience which I cannot explain was at my best friends house when I was 15 (25 now) I used to spend my whole summers at his house and I knew where everything was. It was just myself, my friend and his brother in the house as his mum was at work, we were leaving the house and I ran upstairs to get my overnight bag, you have to go through a small hallway with a door to get upstairs, I came back down the stairs and walked through the door and out the house where my friends were waiting, I realised I’d left my phone charger so went back into the house to go upstairs, I got to the door and I got instant goosebumps and could see something was blocking the hallway that I just came through, I opened it and a Dyson vacuum cleaner had moved across the hall to block the door within 20 seconds of me walking through it… I still have no explanation to this day. Gives me goosebumps every time
My house is haunted but although noises and bangs and taps on window I and other family members never see anyone. Then my youngest daughter says she saw a man staring at her in the middle of the night literally stood over her . She said she could see him through squinting eyes as she said I she was so scared she pretended to be asleep still . Thinking she was making it up regardless of the years of torment we have had I asked her the story over 2 years numerous times and never has she faltered in the story always the same . 6 mths ago I bumped into a man who lived next door to our house before we came , some 43 years previously and knowing the same family had this house since it was build in 1943 . I told him the story of my daughter . The description my daughter gave was exactly the one of the younger son who was now deceased…
It's so incredibly frustrating to hear people say they don't believe in ghosts and then tell the story about a ghost they or someone they love and trust has seen.
I'm one of those people I'm afraid. A few years ago I was driving down the road to my mums house- literally a few mins away in the car when I came to a left hand junction where I was going to continue straight on. As I approached the junction, up the road to the left I could see like a cloud of vapour- I can only describe it as like the spray you get if someone was jet washing their car. This vapour suddenly became the distinct but semi transparent figure of a man which proceeded to stride across the middle of the road as I slowed down in disbelief. Then before it could completely cross the road, it vanished. I pulled over once I was just passed the junction, gathered myself and got out the car. There was nobody around that it could have been. However, despite my experience I refuse to believe I saw a ghost and rather my mind played an awful trick on me.
@@20bluelilies I mean, haven't you ever heard of kids imagining things, and coincidence? Also, haven't you realised that this man is in the entertainment industry, being asked for a 'spooky' story? I've briefly thought I've seen certain things before, but they all could've had many explanations before I jump to "it must've been a ghost." For instance, on one of those occasions I was heavily sleep deprived. There's literally never been actual concrete evidence provided of ghosts.
I'm not a believer in ghosts, but something odd did happen to me while on a work assignment in Scotland in the late 90s. I checked into the hotel, admired the view from the window (which included a very pretty sandstone building), and nodded off in front of the TV a few hours later. The next morning, there was absolutely no sign of the sandstone building. At breakfast I joked with a staff member about what I'd "seen", at which point he called over an older colleague. The elderly gentleman told me the building had long been razed and that a few other guests had reported seeing it as well. I'm not convinced anything ghostly was going on, but I'm open to the idea that the hotel site perhaps allowed for some kind of observable time "glitch". I still get a little smattering of goosebumps on my arm when I think back to that weekend.
Intriguing account. But I don’t understand why you say that you don’t believe in ghosts when what you saw can only be described as a type of ghost. Isn’t possible that some ghosts are a result of some sort of anomoly of time perception? Is it possible that this time business is not as straight forward and linear as we perceive it to be? You somehow saw into the past. Maybe you picked up on a view through the window that someone else saw in the same spot many years before the building had been demolished? Science should look into all this! It’s fascinating.
@@sionjones1026 Thanks for the comment, it made me think. I've never really confronted the issue, since I got laughed out of a couple of pubs back in the 90s while trying to tell mates about it lol.
My experience is a simple one, but without explanation, I live in an old villa by the north sea, under the roof of this house, there was an old oak library, I fixed it up, And since I Loved reading, more than once I fell asleep in the used leather sofas, and this habit turned in to a routine, and so eventually making this library my bedroom!, I always locked the door before sleeping! , leaving the key in, one night I woke hearing the key fallout and sliding along the old oak flooring, picked up my phone, put on the light, set up in the sofa and saw this old key halfway the room, about 10 feet away from the door and keyhole, pitch-dark and silent, I called out, but now reply of course! I got up walked to the center of the room , picked up the key , put on the electric light, opened the door, looked in the dark and long corridor, nothing! Locked the door, like I always do , turning the key all the way, so one would have to turn it halfway just to get it out! I still can recall the sound of this key falling and the speed of it sliding across the wooden floor!
I was about 14, weeks lived in an English village and I was riding my bike to meet a friend on a dark night. There was a churchyard to my left and a street light ahead. The churchyard wall was high and the ground was level with the top of it. I saw a lady walking towards me by the wall and when I drew level I turned to say hi, but there was no one there. I didn’t tell anyone because it was too weird. A couple of years later, my dad came in one night and said ‘the strangest thing just happened,’ and described the exact same thing happening to him. Creepy. However, if someone asked me now if I believed in ghosts I’d still be reluctant to say yes, because it’s a hard concept to grasp.
@Noblerot1830 Uncanny is so entertaining because of how feeble most of the stories are. If it was made up it would be more convincing. (Except the UFO stories they use, which are mostly known lies.)
My dad passed away at Christmas after being in hospital a month. The night he passed away at exactly 11:30 the front doorbell went. no one was there. My brother messaged me at 9:30 the next morning said dad passed away last night at exactly 11:30. I told my brother and he said he had a dream that night said my mum was waiting for dad at the gates of heaven and was showing him around. My mum passed away over lockdown. Had a few acuteness here with doors banging and I caught sounds on my phone I left recording in the kitchen creaking of the table and chairs moving. Dad always said he can hear un explained things coming from the kitchen it did not bother him. But since dads been gone nothing has happened here I don't feel either presents. I think Mum was waiting for dad.
The Jack the Ripper RUclips channel hosted by Richard Jones tells the full story of William Terriss and the details of his apparition being spotted in the Adelphi theatre and surrounding areas!! If Jason Manford felt goosebumps up one side of his arm, that's usually a telltale sign that he's not alone in the room!!
I think it's tough because it's another person's account. Yes, that other person is your own daughter, but you'd naturally pass it off to a child's imagination running wild. People tend to believe when they've experienced something themselves. However, since learning the facts that would seemingly corroborate the experience, I wouldn't know what to believe.
People often dismiss even their own experiences and fall back into what feels logical and comfortable. Plus it's not socially acceptable in some circles and they don't want to become "that guy." 🤷🏻♀️
A woman I worked with said she was cleaning the woodwork in her home one morning, she was using Pledge, a product here in the States that comes in a spray can. She either had to use the restroom or the phone rang, but either way, when she came back, the can of Pledge was inverted and balancing on the small, white pushbutton. She had other experiences but this is one I remember well.
Obviously a ghost that enjoyed housework, then again it could have done a bit of polishing whilst she was out the room rather than just mess with the can! They are a law to themselves!
I remember reading about a ghost story years back where the witness said, after seeing ghosts in a room where a grisly murder had taken place, there was something wrong with time. Which sounds like the events were somehow on replay.
Similar experience. Playing trains with my 5 year old when he looked over my right shoulder and I saw his body tense, his eyes go wide, and his pupils focus on something behind me. "Daddy a ghost" he whispered. Ngl chills went down my spine, and i whipped around. Nothing was there, and that was the only instance, but kids can creep you out. Lol. I've never seen anything paranormal, but I'm not saying my son didn't.
Few years ago I took part in a recovery of a wartime aircraft crash recovering the pilot. I had kept something from it as a momento and put it in a cupboard at the back of the room. For a while when alone in the evening I had a feeling someone was behind me, I would look and shrug it off, not connecting the two. One morning coming down stairs I saw someone walk through the doorway, expecting to see one of my sons I was dumbfounded when no one was there. The strange feelings went on a while until it struck me where the part was. After getting rid of it I never had any more issues.
When I bought my first house, my sister came to help me paint. We were going to do the living room, dining room, and kitchen. I was in the living room when I saw my sister moving around in the bedroom. I called out, "Dana, what are you doing?" And she said, "Checking out this kitchen wall." I glanced toward the kitchen, then looked back in the bedroom, and no one was there. Ghosts are so cool.
I'll just cut to the chase. I was watching a movie at 1:30am last month and suddenly out of nowhere the bottom left corner of my blinds got pulled, as if someone went up, lifted it back and then let them go to bang against the window. It wasn't just a little bit of movement either, they were pulled back quite a bit and then released. There's no vent beneath them, there was no breeze in my house, there was no fan going, and even if there was, the blinds wouldn't have been able to behave in such a manner. It took me a moment to process what happened, and then I got filled with chills and goosebumps and immediately went to bed. I've been thinking about it every day since it happened, trying to make figure out what could've done that.
To anyone who hasn't already listened to the Uncanny and Uncanny USA podcasts, I really recommend them. The short tv series of Uncanny was also well worth watching; I hope that Danny makes more episodes (both tv and podcasts). I'm looking forward to hearing the final podcast of Uncanny USA on Tuesday.
@@racheltaylor6578Yes, the station was built over Terriss’s favourite baker shop. They think that’s why he hangs around there. Well, nobody’s seen him in a while though. Maybe he’s at peace now.
When i was little we lived in st marys bay kent, mum came into my room,i was stood in my cot laughing, mum asked why i was laughing,i said im laughing at the funny man
This story triggered my own memory of a time when my partner was beginning to display worrying behaviour and personality issues. He was becoming toxic and had a dark energy about him. My little boy, around 5-6 years old said ‘mum, I don’t like the man who’s always behind dad!’ I didn’t understand what he meant at first but when I questioned my son about this man, I said ‘what man? What does he look like?’. My son answered ‘you can’t see him? The man behind dad is black and has no face!’ Still sends shivers through me!
Every Christmas Day up to the age of 10/11 I saw my grandma who I never had the chance to meet as she died long before I was born... I only recognised her from old photographs yeas later when I asked my mum ‘who that lady was’ .. never worried or scared me she was kind and gentle and nothing scary at all ...can still remember her to this day now my parents have also passed away ...
One time my mum was staying at my grandads house while he was away. She had my older brother who was about 2 or almost 3 maybe. It was late but he was still awake. Suddenly he asked who the old man in the corner of the room was? My mum absolutely shat it. The door went right at that moment and it was her husband. She’s never forgot that.
What amazing accounts! Ive long known im not the type destined for gostly encounters. But I've never doubted their possibility. Frankly, im grateful most of these stories dont involve fear
I always say, “you don’t believe in ghosts, until you’ve seen one. Then, you’ll believe.” I have family members who can see them. We lived in a big old house once, Victorian, and my daughter saw the ghost of a woman more than once on the second floor. I never saw nor felt her. But my daughter senses them, too.
While visiting my Nan along with my Mum and then little girl in 1994. My little girl asked who was the old man sat in the chair. I can only assume it was my late Grandad who passed away in 1998.
LOL! There's an alternative to people who say they've seen ghosts being liars. In most cases, they're not. They do genuinely believe they saw something, but obviously either this thing wasn't a ghost or they only imagined it (dream, hallucination, etc.).
I really think this show is excellent. Most shows on the 'paranormal' are of the exploitative and moronic 'ghost hunter' type; or they are equally moronic with an agenda to 'debunk' things before they have even been properly investigated, which when you think about it is not very intelligent. This show is both skeptical and open minded, with a genuine interest in the truth. Refreshing to say the least. The findings of these investigations are conclusive I would say. I very much hope that this show continues, and perhaps even branches into looking at the real hard science on 'survival' , as Leslie Keans work does.
I have seen so many in my lifetime. Even a young man that appears as a living person! For those of you who refuse to believe in an afterlife, who hell cares what you people think!!!!! I am 71 years of age and DO NOT IMAGINE THINGS!!!!!!
I asked my cousin if he believed in ghosts his reply was “I’ve seen one but I don’t believe in them.” 🤯 I’ve seen one myself and it changed my whole thinking because it was absolutely undeniable.
I didn’t see anything but for months after my dog died I could feel her jump up on the bed and snuggle on my feet at the foot of the bed while I was sleeping. It felt as real as day. Miss her still sometimes 😢
@@7ebr830No there isn't always a rational explanation. That's the excuse sceptics use. I'm 66 and all my life I have seen, heard and felt spirits. I wish I didn't sometimes, as its become overwhelming in the past. But I've been taught how to use protection on myself and stop the activity. It's worked well to a point.
@@Worldsamess2024 I hope you realise that sounds more like you should have sought and benefitted from modern medical attention than ghosts are real. No offence. The thing is, _first_ we dismiss all rational explanations, _only then_ do we posit the highly unlikely.
@@7ebr830 Not always. Once, I experienced an unexplainable phenomenon with my family. We were dining when we heard children running in the first floor of the house (2 or three max). We had a dog back then, but he did'nt react at all. We checked every corner of the house. No one. It happened twice. No rational explanation to this very day. My father told us not to think about it for we don't know what it is. He didn' give us an interpretation. He never said it was a ghost. The six of us experienced the same thing. Place Algiers- Algeria. Time : circa 1993.
@@kamelryke31 Let's think about this. 1. How were you (all) able to tell it was children? 2. I don't need a comment from you about this No. 2 at this stage, but I reserve the right to return to it in the future. I note that humans heard the sound(s), but the dog didn't. Dogs are said to have keener hearing than humans, so it is pertinent (to me) that your dog did not react. 3. What sort of flooring did the upper level had? I'd be surprised if it wasn't wooden - and there's good reason to suspect wooden flooring. Still, in a search for the truth, all we want are facts.
When my son was about 4 or 5 he was singing behind me while eating breakfast. He was suddenly quiet and when I turned around to see if everything was alright he had his head turned to his right and looking straight up. I asked him what was wrong and he asked me ‘why does that man keep looking at me’. I just about died, my stomach dropped. It was 7am and no one about and the house was built by an Italian man who passed away a few years before but he passed in hospital. We speculate it was him.

Lived in a haunted house for many years and it was terrifying. Most of the family experienced supernatural stuff. If your going through supernatural stuff.... I understand it can be terrifying but try your BEST to control the fear. The less you fear them the less power they have.

This theatre is right near Covent Garden Underground station; and this Victorian actor William Terris has also been seen by station staff there....over many decades. There's a famous story about one time (quite a long time ago now) when the station staff there were getting ready to shut the station up for the night (after the last tube train had passed through), and one staff member saw a tall guy in Victorian clothes and period hat. He didn't think anything of this (although this seemed strange in the 1970's), and this man had just entered one of the lifts there (no escalators at Covent Garden). The staff member radioed to a colleague in the ticket hall, that there was a man coming up in one of the lifts...so not to close the station entrance shutters. The colleague waited. The lift appeared at the top (in the entrance hall), and opened.....but there was no one there! The staff member in the entrance hall radioed down to his colleague at platform level that there's no one in that lift: but the colleague at station level was adamant he saw a man getting into one of the lifts...right in front of him. To this day, no one has any answers to this. But it's strongly reckoned that it was the ghost of William Terris. Spooky or what!!
I like how in 0:06, Jason looks a bit hesitant to answer the question, like perhaps he’s in between. I think though he says he does not believe in ghosts, he does to some extent believe in the afterlife.
As someone who has worked on Sweeney Todd, it can be a really “ weird” show to be around. Also, I spent a fair time working in London’s West End in the 80s and 90s, and William was a well known ghost in the West End- as is Archie around Drury Lane.
My daughter said the same thing to me when she was about three. Mum, who is that man standing behind you? I turned couldn’t see anything.. turned back and then she said “He’s all red”. All I could think of was that blooming common image of the devil with horns and forked tail. :). Just my luck😅
I don’t get it when people have an experience like this but still say they don’t believe in ghosts 🙄 annoys the hell out of me. Like you believe in them or you don’t 🤷♀️
Did they show the daughter a photo of the man, maybe along with a couple of other random period photos as control, and see without prompting if she recognised him...???
I once heard my 2 year old daughter in her cot say cheerily hello grandad and he had passed away . We visit my husband's sisters grave every Christmas Eve few years ago we were suddenly overwhelmed with the smell of beautiful roses then it disappeared..then last year I was standing there apart from my husband by her grave I had an overwhelming smell of cologne as if someone had smashed a bottle of perfume it was strong and no one was there. I then met up with my husband, and he said the weirest thing happened. I could smell this really strong perfume, but there was no one there. I said I had smelt it, too. I knew the fragrance but couldn't place it, then I remembered it was the smell of Old Spice and his father, who had also passed, used to wear Old Spice.
Your child tells you she sees a man behind you twice, in uniform. Person at the theater says he has been seen before, sounds like more than once, he died in a uniform. He is asked, do you believe in ghost? He answers, no. How can someone be that close minded?
Exactly! Who knows what other lives we have lived in all that endless time before we were born into our current shell. Obviously our bodies die but I think the soul lives on in a different host.
I used to be a theatre manager. Many times we would be asked by theatre patrons who the woman was sitting the box. Never was there ever anyone in the box as we didn’t sell them. I then got locked into the toilet in that box during one particular show. The door wasn’t locked just a door knob closed as I was checking the refurb of it during the interval. I could not for love nor money turn the Knob to the point of having to call the carpenter over the radio to come urgently. He arrived and walked straight in. I then tested it and opened it no problem. She was a prankster.
Yes children, animals and people with special needs can see spirits. My dog introduced us to a spirit he was playing ball with. She is a young girl we feel from the early 1900s. That was 5 years ago. She’s been with us since and still plays ball with our dog. My sister with special needs sees them at times. My husband can see them day or night whenever they choose to appear. All good spirits.

That's a projection. Everyone reports seeing that.

I wonder what would have happened if you spoke to them.
Maybe they'd have asked you to join them.

A believer should require proof or (at the very least) subjectively sufficient evidence to internally support their own beliefs. Otherwise, they have no reason to genuinely believe them and all they're doing is playing make believe.
A person who does not currently believe may simply not have been presented with sufficient evidence (let alone actual proof) to support a change in their beliefs.

I told him the story of my daughter . The description my daughter gave was exactly the one of the younger son who was now deceased…

Dad always said he can hear un explained things coming from the kitchen it did not bother him. But since dads been gone nothing has happened here I don't feel either presents. I think Mum was waiting for dad.
I'm inclined to believe in ghosts just by listening to that; how can HE not? 👀
Very spooky story, isn't it!?
@@thatsamshowthe child wasn't thinking ghost. She just wondered who the man was.
Weird huh!!
I'm not really into ghost stories, but I've heard things happening like that before
Obviously a ghost that enjoyed housework, then again it could have done a bit of polishing whilst she was out the room rather than just mess with the can!
What momento from the crash did you keep?
......what a shame you discarded it instead of maybe giving to someone else.
Why would you steal from a crash site.!!🤷♀️
@barbaraclarke6069 I did not steal anything thank you, I had full permission, don't throw unfounded accusations around, nor did I discard it

Ghosts are so cool.
that is so creepy....
It was an absolute pleasure to meet Danny at the Theatre Royal in Newcastle about 3 weeks ago, a great show AND he signed my book!
I've heard of this ghost before. People have seen his ghost at a train platform not far from where he was murdered.
It’s Covent Garden station.
William Terriss suffered such a horrific death but at the hands of someone he was trying to help? Sad.
@@racheltaylor6578Yes, the station was built over Terriss’s favourite baker shop. They think that’s why he hangs around there. Well, nobody’s seen him in a while though. Maybe he’s at peace now.
Coming from a very practical Mancunian like him , makes me wonder ❤️
How can you not believe in ghosts when you had an experience like that?
I think its better that he actually doesnt. Its a pretty convincing story though esp with the comments in here.
I believe he’s sometimes seen in the railway station nearby.
William Terrace has also been seen on the underground stations.
When i was little we lived in st marys bay kent, mum came into my room,i was stood in my cot laughing, mum asked why i was laughing,i said im laughing at the funny man
What a great story. ❤
I'm loving all the true ghost stories that people are telling in these comments!

Why can't he believe? Because it's shattering to have your sense of what constitutes "reality" shattered.

This story triggered my own memory of a time when my partner was beginning to display worrying behaviour and personality issues. He was becoming toxic and had a dark energy about him.
My little boy, around 5-6 years old said ‘mum, I don’t like the man who’s always behind dad!’
I didn’t understand what he meant at first but when I questioned my son about this man, I said ‘what man? What does he look like?’.
My son answered ‘you can’t see him? The man behind dad is black and has no face!’
Still sends shivers through me!
I don’t understand. “The door went right . . . and it was her husband.” What does went right mean, and whose husband?
@@Chavacandraw Yeah. I think it sounded better in her head.
????
WTF? The door went where, what, how, and whose husband? who am I, where am I, am I lost, or what?
What amazing accounts! Ive long known im not the type destined for gostly encounters. But I've never doubted their possibility. Frankly, im grateful most of these stories dont involve fear

I think the more mundane stories are more believable.
If your child says they've seen a ghost - believe them.
I think I won't.

100%. Happened to me with my 3 year old granddaughter.
Loved the story wish there was a long version
He 💯 made this story up - giving off so many tells.
Bloody hell, got goosebumps all over. I hope William is at peace now.
My 5 year old son used to say that a man used to appear in my home when I was working nights..bloody ghosts 👻
Wife having an affair🙂
I always say, “you don’t believe in ghosts, until you’ve seen one. Then, you’ll believe.” I have family members who can see them. We lived in a big old house once, Victorian, and my daughter saw the ghost of a woman more than once on the second floor. I never saw nor felt her. But my daughter senses them, too.
When I was about 4, maybe 5 years old, I remember saying to myself 'this is who I am now'!
While visiting my Nan along with my Mum and then little girl in 1994. My little girl asked who was the old man sat in the chair. I can only assume it was my late Grandad who passed away in 1998.
We are still trying to fathom the way our minds work. If reality is a construct, psychic phenomena could be the tip of the iceberg.
That's ok then, just call your daughter a liar!
I absolutely agree. Those ghost hunter programmes are ridiculous. Never watched a full one and never will.
How can you tell a story like this, say you’ve got goosebumps, have other witnesses including your own daughter and STILL not believe in ghosts. 🤦🏻
Because there's always a rational explanation which, with luck, we'll find out about in due course.
@@Worldsamess2024
I hope you realise that sounds more like you should have sought and benefitted from modern medical attention than ghosts are real.
@@kamelryke31
Let's think about this.
And he never bothered to look behind him even though assuming he wouldn't see anyone.
He said he did look.

How can he not believe in ghosts then go on to tell HIS ghost story? 🤔
Love it ....its facinating
My daughter said the same thing to me when she was about three. Mum, who is that man standing behind you? I turned couldn’t see anything.. turned back and then she said “He’s all red”. All I could think of was that blooming common image of the devil with horns and forked tail. :). Just my luck😅
I don’t get it when people have an experience like this but still say they don’t believe in ghosts 🙄 annoys the hell out of me. Like you believe in them or you don’t 🤷♀️
Yeah, he said he doesn't.
How can you not believe?
Did they show the daughter a photo of the man, maybe along with a couple of other random period photos as control, and see without prompting if she recognised him...???
Fantastic
I suffere from extreme dreams and lucid dreaming to the most horrible sleep paralysis you could amaging i can tell a story or 2 lol 😂
"Ghosts on the Underground", the old man talked about William Terriss there too.
When we die it is probably like before being born .
Exactly! Who knows what other lives we have lived in all that endless time before we were born into our current shell. Obviously our bodies die but I think the soul lives on in a different host.
Should have shown the picture of the guy to the daughter and ask her if he’s the guy she saw
That was, full- on, creepy! 😬💀

I'm pretty sure the the guy interviewing him has a podcast with really cool stories lije this.

Uncanny
I used to be a theatre manager. Many times we would be asked by theatre patrons who the woman was sitting the box. Never was there ever anyone in the box as we didn’t sell them. I then got locked into the toilet in that box during one particular show. The door wasn’t locked just a door knob closed as I was checking the refurb of it during the interval. I could not for love nor money turn the Knob to the point of having to call the carpenter over the radio to come urgently. He arrived and walked straight in. I then tested it and opened it no problem. She was a prankster.
They say children and animals are more sensitive to spirit. I wonder if she has seen other spirit? She might be gifted!!
Why didn’t he get her to take a screenshot of it or a good old fashioned photo?
In the unedited original show, he said he checked the video and there was no ghost on it.
Never underestimate children or pets ..
