Hey mate, the drag was completely locked and we couldn’t even physically turn the handle at all to wind it in. This was a very big fish. There was no way we were going to land it on a PE4 rod and a 6000 reel with PE3. I needed a heavier setup here and was out gunned for sure. Watching the footage back I believe it I initially hooked onto either a big Kingfish or big Amberjack that immediately got taxed by a huge shark. You can see I was able to pump and wind in initially a few times but once the huge shark took the fish there was no stopping it. I actually got sharked twice more after this but the GoPro ran out of batteries. Cheers for watching!
Great fight bro. Those sharks can put up a hella of fight!
Thanks bro! Hopefully I’ll be more prepared next time with heavier gear to tackle and pesky sharks haha
Crazy fight bro you’ll get em next time
Thanks bro! It was made harder the fact that I was feeling really sea sick on this trip. I was dead tired mid way through the fight haha
great thanks bro❤
Thanks bro! Hopefully next time we can get the jigs onto some big Kings in deeper waters 🤞🏽
That first one didn't even mind you were hooked. Just doing it's thing like nothing ever happened. Must have been massive
I’ve never felt a bigger fish before, it had no care in the world that I was hooked onto it, just took me for a ride along haha
Cubera snapper I bet
👍🤙🤙
🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
Hey mate how much was that boat, looks nice
My mates bought the boat secondhand for $40k. I think the boat is usually +100k
huge shark i reckon
Definitely could have been, the boys on the boat thought it was a huge gummy shark or bull shark. It was crazy powerful and heavy!
Ant hating but you needa stop letting it run ane js keep on winding it in
