I 3d print a lot of terrain, in addition to crafting myself, and printing anything really big like this takes forever and uses so much PLA. This seems like the best way to get a big, impressive castle on the table that I've seen. Bravo.

For the time invested on these you could make the Great Wall of China before you are able to complete another epic build. This also seems like a really good place to start if someone was thinking about making the castle.

It could use a cave rat, but it's genius nonetheless. Actually, with a couple of individual ruined wall sections, you can create a long abandoned fortress or ancient outpost. I've been contemplating building a vampire's castle, integral with the mountain it's constructed on. This should be the perfect way to get it done! Well done!

Let me rephrase that comment...I haven't watched one of your videos since the hazard tiles because of the normal (and not so normal) tumult of life and work and haven't had even the time to open a notification. But since I made the castle (what feels like two lifetimes ago) I stopped doing what I was doing (in this case writing a report to my board of directors) to open it up and I heard the theme music and I was like...I GOTTA get back into my workshop.
Brilliant! Looks like it all came together quickly and easily. It's a beautiful expansion to your castle keep, and it has a great atmosphere. PS: I need to get some magnets.
Wow! What do I like best about this modular castle set? Well, of course all the different possible configurations make it invaluable, and a real space saver. Although, what takes it over the top is the flexibility of the aesthetic. I could see using this in D&D (Greyhawk or Feyrun) for human or dwarves, or even Castle Strahd in Ravenloft. It would be equally appropriate for the Daqan Lords of Runewars, and the Imperium of Man in Warhammer Fantasy or 40,000. I'm sure there are many other settings in which this castle set would fit as well. In my opinion, that's true modularity.
Mate this came out great! I don't have a proxxon, so I appreciate the alternatives for building and templates. At first it looks super intimidating, but you broke it down into something super attainable 🙏

Excellent video. Beginner question on the hot wire cutter: what temperature are you running it? Do you let it run continuously? I'm nervous thinking about how hot that thing can get and personal safety.
Thank you and great question. For free hand cuts it's on setting 2.5. Cuts that are guided and thicker around 3-4. Still enough to burn you if you touch the wire. I use the foot pedal that turns it on and off so it frees up both hands... in my opinion it's an absolute MUST add on from Proxxon!

Never thought about using the pillar jig for that , so just went and ordered myself the large set . Since its cut in 2D , nothing says I cant cut and make them as narrow as I want to fit any size piece .
Your videos are just bonkers good. I really need to do a deep dive in some of your older vids to piece together all these various techniques! For now, a quick question: how do you manage the big foam cuts? Say I want to build a scene using a 20x20 inch square of 2-inch foam as the foundation piece. How do you get those first two big cuts out of a 4'x8' sheet of foam? OFLA utility knife? Something else? Guessing you can't really use the Proxon (which is on my distant to-buy list) for it.

How about a drawbridge? Maybe a sewer/dungeon "entrance" tile that you can place anywhere around the castle/ grounds?

How do you get those first two big cuts out of a 4'x8' sheet of foam? OFLA utility knife? Something else? Guessing you can't really use the Proxon (which is on my distant to-buy list) for it.
