What type of foam is this built out of and where do I get it and how do I prepare it for this use? Can you link to a product or set of instructions on the very basic step of procuring the foam and preparing it to be used?
David Collette Hi David, the foam is XPS foam and can be found at home improvement stores like Home Depot it Lowes. Local stores might have it too. There really isn’t any need to prepare the foam other than removing the thin plastic film that is in both sides of it. It peels right off. When cutting it use a sharp blade as they dull quickly. Check out any of my videos to see me cutting it with a Proxxon hot wire cutter or knife. I’d recommend watching my dungeon tile video and starting there. Let me know if you have any questions along the way!
I am simply blown the hell away! Your presentation was magnificent!! Your attention to detail is unbelievable! I can't thank you enough for showing us how you built this beautiful miniature castle!!!
Hey this is really incredible! I don’t play any table top games, but this reminds me of how I used to have these diy cardboard castles as a kid that I played with every day. They came with little knights and horses, and they were my favorite toys for years. This video brought back that feeling of warmth and nostalgia, and made me very very happy. Even as an adult, I love miniatures and I love to make sculptures. You are an inspiration and have helps reawaken that inner child within me!
Finally someone who gets the terrain brush size right! It hurts my soul when I see people drybrushing walls with tiny little brushes. Castle looks great. I especially loves those gremlins/imps/ratmen/fraggles/Goes-bump-at-night creatures living in the sewer! 10 yellow dots on black cardboard tells more story than the average gaming table! :-D
Thanks :) Yeah, I'm not messing around with under sized brushes that's for sure. Also, it's the tiny details like the eyes that I love adding to my builds. It get's players imaginations going and helps with immersion!
Fantastic build. All your prep work creating templates makes this an approachable build for others to attempt. Really love the details, too-- the gate/front door is AMAZING!!! The sewer grate is supercool, too.
sir you are next level that is astonishing you are a very talented person i love this build truly breath taking can not wait for your next build im glad that you have patron now i defo will be over there and adding you to my ever glowing list loll but really mate well crafted love every second of it

Holy hell, first video of yours I've seen and I subbed the second I saw that castle. Amazing work and I'm looking forward to more from you in the future
The details and extras make this castle awesome! Impressive design and builds. Can’t wait to pick up the plans and build this. Need to build the other pieces first. Thank you for a great video!
Found your channel through DTRPG. Amazing build. I'd get cracking on this today, but I made the foolish mistake of getting married many years ago, and being Valentine's day, it will have to wait until tomorrow.
Absolutely incredible! Love the modular aspect too, use just the first floor, get rid of stairs, put a windmill on top whatever. The way you “big picture” so that the build isn’t just used for just one encounter in a single campaign is what makes it all so cool to watch never mind play. Great stuff.
Although I'm not a D&D or other board gamer, I like the video's on the various buildings you create for those who do. Perhaps you can tackle building Santa's north pole for the holidays or build the castle of Disneyland since both are in the fantasy realm of what you do? Good work
FanDamnTastic...masterful work. Thanks for sharing all your ideas. Can't believe I'm just now discovering your channel as much as I've been on RUclips for terrain, painting, and D&D. New sub..

The fact that you replied to EVERY single comment is outstanding! You did a wonderful job. I would love to make this project, but i need 1/2 the size in scale. Is it possible to scale this project down or do you have projects similar to this that are smaller in scale? Thank you for your time
Hi Monica, I really enjoy interacting with all of the subscribers :) As far as scaling this down, if you take the file to any print shop this could easily be done by them. No reason you can't tackle this castle (haha) at the scale you want! Most of my projects are at the same scale so they match up with my Medieval village I'm working on.
D&D Creative Table Designs facebook page led me here!!! Awesome Channel! AND, I just noticed your LoneWolf RPG Choose Your Own Adventure books in the background!!!
@@TabletopWitchCRAFT you make it I will watch it. I really appreciate the fact that most, if not all, of your crafts are playable. I too try and make that happen for my peeps
Quick tip for the magnetizing: instead of using magnets both in the board and the underside of the piece you’re putting on top, just put a magnet in the board, and use small tacking nails or screws on the underside of the top piece. This way you only use half as many magnets, and the polarity isn’t a concern
That's a good idea Jack. Although this does work, it doesn't have as much power as two magnets. Still a great option to save some cash. Thanks for sharing.
It's awesome on the outside, just watched your Victorian Haunted House, as well. I just would like to see some room division in the floor plan when each floor is removed, maybe an interior wall or two to divide living spaces, work spaces, sleeping spaces. It would make them all more interesting as a player and your viewers. They would be attached to the floor plan and would be separate from the exterior walls that would come down around them.
Pretty epic, dude. You should be proud. I would be. Thanks for sharing such a helpful video for crafting an amazing castle from XPS. I'll try this one day soon.

Being as i wouldnt be able to afford the dome cutter im curious if you think layering it with some sculptamold and then sanding it would give it a more uniform texture?
