Edelweiss for me still has the most iconic livery and I hope they never change it, simple, beautiful, unique. Cant wait to see it on the A350 soon!
7 hours on an A320 is pushing my personal flying limits, I can understand why it's done, I'd still prefer an A330 or a 787 on that route though.
It would be inconvenient for me as well, especially because the lack of legroom, Copa Airlines has regular long routes (7h) from GRU to PTY on the 737 max and it’s a challenge for tall people like me.
The A320 doesn't have a personal TV screen and the flight attendants have a harder time serving meals because lack of space to prepare meals and a single aisle blocked by customers going to the toilet. On shorter flights these are not issues.
I honestly dislike most flights over 2 hours... but 7+ hours is really not great. Of all narrowbody long haul flights, I think Premium economy on the new SAS a321LRs could be decent, as those seats are arranged in a 2+2 (and the business class seats on the same plane of course)
You clearly ain’t flown transcon on American lmfaooo
The runway at Boa Vista is 2100m long meaning aircrafts larger than the A320/737-800, maybe also A330-200 can‘t operate there. Afaik, especially the 788 doesn‘t perform that well and would require a stop at Sal, than fly to Boa Vista and do another stop in Sal again.
Tbh, a plane like the A320ceo should be capable of doing a hot meal service. I remember chatting with the purser of an SAS A320neo, and he openly told me how he loved working on older Ceos and despised the newer Neos because the back galleys on the Ceos are so much bigger, better equipped, and more manageable than the newer ones, where the space is halved and trolleys are stacked behind each other instead of side-by-side. (The other half of the back bulkhead on Neos houses the attendant jump seats and rear lavatories.)
I also remember a sas captain said: the ceo has a higher crosswind tolerance than the neo...
That’s down to the config SAS chose though. It’s nothing to do with Airbus directly
@@samuelharper9411 You're right, honestly. I looked at various LCCs and flag carriers, there's no correlation between if airlines pick the full rear galley or split bathroom/galley configuration. It's all over the place; Almost every western carrier opts for the split configuration, be it Spirit, an LCC, or a full service airline line Aer Lingus. Meanwhile, Indigo and Aeroflot both use the traditional layout for all their A320s, ceo or neo.
On a 737-800 flight from Amsterdam to Cape Verde on TuiFly a choice of two hot meals where served, and a warm snack as well...
@@fritskleinenhammans2388 I flew on a tui 767 from Manchester to Cape Verde and wasn’t offered a thing. It was all the usual buy onboard…
The wind speed during the landing at the sal airport was just insane 😯.Nice video like always simply aviation :) your videos never dispointed me.
Hats off to your dedication for experiencing these trips first hand on narrow body planes without IFE for 7 hours to us so that we don’t have to 😂
Well this is probably the time a Samsung that can flips to a darn tablet would be handy to have
I would never go on such a long flight without predownloaded entertainment om my tablet/laptop. Even if there's supposed to be in flight screens. Just wouldn't risk it 😅
That steep takeoff from Boa Vista was impressive! Great trip report as always!
11:59, yeah, damn was not only a climb, but also a left-hand turn on approach to Boa Vista.
I absolutely love when simply flying posts more that 1 video a week
I flew to Sal on TAP from Lisbon on an A320neo just before the pandemic. It's a beautiful island.
bro nice ive been watching ur vids since 2019 good stuff keep up the good work my friend
I JUST REALISED I WAS SPOTTING THAT DAY! IVE SPOTTED YOUR FLIGHT!
I'm very glad to see in my home country 🇨🇻🇨🇻🇨🇻
Sal and Boa Vista very exceptional places to visit for both foreigners and also us (me talking as someone from Sao Vicente)
I would love to see a review from you of Cabo Verde Airlines (our national airline). Most reviews are pre pandemic and I would love to see how we are doing.
Big fan of Simply Aviation 👌✈️✈️✈️
A TACV, desde a pandemia, está a conseguir superar a crise?
Hello Simply Aviation, nice trip report video and nice A320 from Edelweiss air
Yes my favorite airline!
Hey Simply aviation! I love watching ur amazing vids! They inspire me, making me more passionate about aviation and planes. Your brutally honest and trip report series are amazingly informative and inspiring. I’ve been watching you guys since 2018:) also pls make a vid from Taipei - Brisbane - Auckland or San Fransisco - Brisbane. Not forcing but just suggestions since I live there! Great love from Brisbane, Australia 🇦🇺:)
Did CPH-LPA-SID on Sunclass a321 sharklets 2 years ago.
On a holiday airline its a bit tight.
The islands (if you look away from the kinda agressive pushing souvenir sellers) are something new compared to las palmas.
But the 7.5 hour SID-CPH flight back was tough (arriving a bit after 2 in the morning isnt fun).
Yet tax free at the airport wasnt like in europe and yes red pall mall was 18€ for a sleeve...
You got one of the two edelweiss A320s with the ex-Air Berlin cabin. The newer cabin is a bit better with a headrest and a device holder. Little correction : the red thing was actually a biberli and not a chocolate ^^
Excellent trip report Felix!😸
The interior & touch sceen are so nice! The noodle looks yummy, hope it's not too dry.
Great vid. I reckon that must of been a tough flight, 6hours on a A320. I flew with Edelweiss from Zurich to Ho Chi Minh City and I have to admit they were fantastic. Admittedly that was on an A340. I’d definitely fly them again
a great video like always
The a320 is one of my favourite aircraft
Great Filming And Trip Report
Hey simply aviation idk if you’ll read this your amazing videos are great and I really feel like I’m flying thanks so much for putting in the effort to make these videos
I've seen some A320s flying routes this long but all of them are the neos! Quite crazy to think of how much you can push the A320ceo
Simply aviation is top 1 best channel in my opinion
Good video nice job ❤
12:02 I was thinking about the same thing. The previous take off was steep too. This one was too steep 😅
Great Video
Great video. Maybe you should come to Canada and try Porter Airlines
Simply Aviation video comes out=a good day!
Sehr schönes Video muss ich sagen
2 days before your flight I flew edelweiss to Iceland. The meal was the same but we got a slice of sourdough also
Nice reviews!
I love delta the most as its the most common seen at PDX
I did the same trip with Tuifly from CGN Airport, it’s an awful long time on a 737 or A320.
Great video 🎉
No screens installed I can understand, but these seats need a device holder!! 7 hours on this plane and you gotta hold up your phone or stain your neck looking down at the tray table to watch their streaming content? 😬
Fantastic video
Just commenting to help get this vid to more views coz it’s epic as usual🔥
IKR
Great flight. New country in this channel, and yeah another episode of long haul flight in narrow body aircraft. I'm curious, is this flight considered as 8th freedom of flight, since this flight is connecting two cities in same country with continuing flight to another country.
Yall need to come to sarajevo soon!
11:56 that’s a steep climb 😮
5.5-6 hours flight is common on narrow body planes between east coast USA and west coast Canada like JFK TO YVR
I guess 7+ hours on single aisle aircraft is soon going to become more frequent as their range increases and more airlines find them a cheaper investment and cost effective to operate. I really miss those spacious Airbus A300/A310s which were perfect for these type of sectors.
Sadly, passenger comfort is no longer a concern to most carriers and their “beancounters”….squeeze in as many cattle as you can…😏
@@cameraman655With airlines it always was beancutters, jut look at the miniscule margins
Though narrow body aircraft allow routes like there as well as routes without much demand (for example DUS-ATL) in the first place.
A A332 simply can‘t operate on a 2100m runway like Boa Vista has unless going for some Sint Maarten like stuff KLM did with their 747s.
nice!
I'm flying 6 1/2 hours from Frankfurt to Saudi-Arabia in 2 weeks onboard a Saudia A321, I'm really curios to see their smaller planes on longer trips
They tend to have less seat , so feels like it has more spacious, tried on ZRH - RUH vv
True….I recently flew Aer Lingus from Cleveland to Dublin. 7 hours on an A321neo and Was quite comfortable. Also flew Boston-Reykjavik-Paris on low cost carrier, Play airlines, also on the A321neo and was amazingly comfortable. We flew Cleveland-LA on s spirit airlines A320….not so comfortable but not terrible.
i love boa vista
Hey David, are you planning on doing an a321 long-haul anytime soon? I’m very curious about the new planes!
I’m pretty sure they’ve already done that with an aer lingus flight and a TAP Air flight
@@AaronJiju64and air transat
A ten-minute flight to Sal that's the shortest flight I've ever seen
UGANDA AIRLINES
I love that approach over the desert.
Tuifly belgium flies Brussels-Dakar-Sal on a 737max (brussels airlines does Dakar with an A330). So comfort wise not the best option either
Hey mate try out there now route from Switzerland to muscat on Saturday WK 46
Get similar route on charter 737 MAX 8 WAW-SID (Sal), almost 8h :))
The catering offered on that flight is not substantial. I’m wondering if this is a double catered flight where the return catering is loaded ex Switzerland and therefore limited galley space.
nice
6hrs on a A320 without IFE or hot food is an absolute disgrace.
It’s very interesting how Cape Verde has two big airports so close to each other.
Makes a lot of sense since they are islands. It’s also by maui and Honolulu is a very busy route in the US despite not beating super long. You have no choice but boat r plane
Is there any extra buy on board food?
About to hit 600k!
The big question is, will we ever hear Felix speak?
I always take the aisle seat as I'm very often to go to the toilet, that's why I'm wondering how you go to the toilet if you sit on the window seat and the persons beside you are sleeping?
Hello, could you go to São Tomé and Príncipe again?
Wow 6 plus hours on what’s basically a flying bus 🚌 longest I’ve been on an a320 is Bangkok to Chiangmai and that’s enough I would be chewing my arm off tbh maybe with extra legroom or an upgraded seat at the front might help but that would be pushing it 😫
a320 is a pretty decent jet from my opinion. one of my favourites🎉
Damm, 7 hours on a narrowbody sounds uncomfortable 🥲
Dje d’Sal nha terra!!
HI simply aviation can you do oman air 737 max
January this year me and my family went to Canary islands but we flyed with 737 from Helsinki it was so boring ( atleast they gave me chocolate )
Why'd they pishback so fast? Never seen a pushback that fast.
That "lunch" was terrible! I bet everyone was starving hungry by that end...
Wast there WIFI and pricing? In seat power?
How do edelweiss this? With an a320 to boa vista. It is a very long range?
Nope, also TUI and TUIFly fly to there with their B738/737-Max8. You could expect a A320 to have a range of at least 5000km depending on the payload and that‘s enough for Boa Vista.
I've been on the same plane 😂
I took this same flight to Sal, in this same plane, one of the worst flights of my life, so much time in an A320 is too much
Serving cold meal on 6hours flight is definitely a bad idea😂
A cold meal on a 7 hour flight… turkish airlines serves hot meal and bigger portion on a 2 hour flight 😂
In my opinion, I thought the food service was quite lousy on this flight. They could and should have a hot meal service on this length of flight. Do it properly. Is Edelweiss Air a low cost airline? Going by their offerings, it looks like they are.
Project Flight Players:Wait Boa Vista is a real place?!
isn't nothing wrong with this plane on This length!
i prefer 10 times to wide-body
That food is looks god no cap but it’s simply not enough for 6 hrs.
i’ve only ever heard Boa Vista from a game, but now there’s a RUclips video on it
You heard it from project flight roblox right?
@@dakingsyt yeah
Boa Vista is the capital of Roraima.
If you go to my youtube channel there are many videos about boa vista and project flight@@jeetknowschess
Yeah, it's also in project flight@@antoniodavirbrito
Omg, what a poor meal service for such a long flight time😂. Luxair offers a full hot meal on all holiday flights of more than 3 hours, plus alcoholic drinks of your choice🤙.
I found the crew at Edelweiss friendlier than their Swiss air colleagues, but the planes are quite old and smelly though...
7 hours on an old A320… that’s insane
I would rather break up the journey and fly via Lisbon on TAP portugal
Possibly even flying to LHR/BLL to catch a A332/B788 to Sal would make more sense and additionally, you could get to fly the BA D328 if you‘d fly from DUS anyways (TUI has a similarly annoying route there).
@@MaxMuller0 Yeah, i would love a 787 on the route to Sal!
6 hours on Airbus A320?I invite to route Brasília-Orlando on 737 MAX 8 with 7 hours and 15 minutes.
I guess people have to start getting used to this as insanity like the A321XLR is starting to enter service for long haul flights....
It isn‘t as bad on the A321XLR as the XLR is specifically made for long-haul flights. The issue is, that Edelweiss as well as TUI and TUIFly are using their normal planes usually configured for flights like HAJ-PMI or ZRH-DUS for Boa Vista routes.
you dont get to say first
Pasta salad seems like such a weird choice for a main dish. If they don't have ovens, why not sandwiches?
They have ovens. But it probably comes down to cost😅. They do use the ovens for lovely bread though
7hrs on an A320,19CEO....kinda sucks....but 7hrs on A321ceo,A320,21neos.....i can take it..
That "lunch" is a joke for a 7hrs flight... Real shame
Yes, disgraceful. Shameless cost cutting.
heisst nicht Cape Verde = Cabo Verde ist richtig
I would not fly on a a320 for 6 hours.
I was disappointed to find this seat on a Lufthansa A321neo from Frankfurt to Cairo. No WiFi, no inflight entertainment. Terrible for a 4 star carrier.
Das kleine Kind hinter dir 😂
I don’t understand why u have to skip the taxi way. It ruins the video for me
What an embarrassing meal service. Turkish serve full hot meals on their A320/321s.
Methinks that passengers who don't like long flights without seatback IFE complain too much. All airports have at least one bookstall, where you can buy a newspaper, magazine or book (or two) to read on such flights ...
All of you people in comments section complaining about 7 hours long flight in a320 are just spoiled af! Not to mention complaining about cold food or not having IFE. Like you're going to die without some entertainment or hot food for 7 hours. I'm absolutely discussed by some people's behaviour and opinions.
